FOCUS FRIDAY – RPM Kotare

Welcome back to another Focus Friday, where we look at a certain mold or brand, and give you a discount so you can try it out for yourself. This weekend, we are focusing on a very helpful, high-speed driver from the RPM manufacturer… The Kotare.

RPM is a New Zealand-based company. Disc Golf is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world and has been played in New Zealand since the 1970’s. RPM has a large assortment of molds that you can shop HERE.

As described by RPM: “Kotare is the Māori name for the Kingfisher, a small bird with a green-blue back, buff to yellow undersides and a large black bill. Rather than nesting in tree tops like many other birds, the Kotare uses their dagger-like beaks to tunnel into soft tree trunks or clay banks to build nests. Kotare are found throughout the country in both coastal and inland freshwater habitats.”

In the disc golf world, the Kotare is an overstable, high-speed distance driver by RPM. For stronger arms, this disc will have a long flight with a slight turnover, followed by a reliable fade. For slower arms, the Kotare will be the perfect hyzer disc, turning out of the hand to get around sharp corners and obstacles.
