TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – SEPTEMBER 3RD 2019

Welcome to another Top 20 Tuesday sales chart. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

The Big Z Zeus wraps up its final week in the Top 20 for a while. Why can we say that? Because that’s all we have and it was a limited edition run, so until it gets a stock release or another special edition down the road, it is highly unlikely to hit the chart again. The D-Line P2 by Discmania still holds a high spot in this week’s chart, followed very closely by the new Signature Jeremy Koling (Big Jerm) Concrete SLAB, which is an flat, super-overstable distance driver. The Star Destroyer is one again in the mix, along with the PIG.  Some old favorites popped back up again.

For your entertainment, we’ve put together an animated graph for the Top 10 best-sellers for the week which shows how they moved day-to-day. Some tend to have sold in spurts, which others kept a slow but consistent pace. Here is the moving chart (click to play the video):

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The number 8 spot this week was taken by ESP ZEUS. We saw two guesses for the ESP Zeus with JANET getting hers in earlier for the win. Congratulations Janet!

The Big Z ZEUS still took the top spot this last week, but is calming down because supply ran dry. However, the Discraft Special Blend LUNA jumped right back to the #2 spot with a restock, followed closely by the R-Pro PIG which surged again with two special stamps (the Flying Pig and the Pork Natural Product stamps). Other charting discs are regulars on the list lately, like the ANAX, P2, DESTROYER, etc. The Splatter S-Blend CENTURION sales jumped up on the chart with a new stamp made available.

Here is a look at how the disc golf brands stacked up on this week’s chart:

OK…so…this chart look very odd, thanks to the massive spike on Big Z Zeus sales. It makes the other very respectable sellers look weak, but they really weren’t. The #2 spot with the Signature Swirly “Cloud Breaker” DD3 sold very well, as did the #3 Special Swirly Blend RIFT by DGA. Other new releases also sold well, including the new LINK putter from Discmania and the new plastics for the Streamline PILOT and the Axiom Delirium.

Here is a chart showing how many times different brands appeared in this week’s top 20:

#19 – Neutron RELAY
#20 – Signature Swirly S-Line FD3

The ESP ZEUS took a commanding lead this last week for the #1 spot, followed by the Star DESTROYER which keeps hanging in there as a consistent best-seller. The Metallic Opto TRIDENT (special run) jumped to #3 with the release of the “Trident Toothpaste” stamp. The D-Line P2 took #4 as another of the discs that has taken up a permanent residence on the Top 20 Tuesday chart.

The ESP ANAX isn’t quite getting the same love as the ZEUS, perhaps because it is more overstable, but it is also still selling strong. Other regular favorites are back on the chart this week with the likes of the FD, Mako3, Nova, Pharaoh, etc. Here is a look at how many times different brands appeared in the Top 20 this week:

WINNER – We did our first #1 guess this week and it was definitely one of the easiest ones to guess, given the recent history of the chart. So, we were looking for the 1st person to get it right. Both Joshua and Rob guessed at the exact same minute for the ESP Zeus, so both are winners this week!

Signature discs are once again the main story on this week’s chart. The Paul McBeth Zeus (#1), the Paul McBeth Anax (#2) and the Luna (#8) all held strong on the chart. The new Simon Lizotte “Doom Bird III” FD3 came in at #3 on the chart and his new signature METHOD came in at #7.  Nate Sexton’s new signature FIREFLY putter held strong at #10 and his glow FIREBIRD landed at #18, while Ricky Wysocki saw his new Tour Series KC Pro AVIAR (beaded Aviar) debut at #12 right above his signature Pro PIG at #13. That is almost half of the chart that are pro signature discs.

#17 – DX AVIAR

#19 – R-Pro PIG
#20 – Metallic Opto Trident

There were no big runaway discs at the top of the chart this week. The prototype ANEX took the top spot, followed closely by the Nate Sexton Nexus FIREFLY putter. The first run ZEUS followed closely in 3rd place with the Luna not far behind. The we see some charge regulars like the D-Line P2, Star DESTROYER, Star ORC, etc.

The D-Blend SCARAB debuted on the chart at #8 and the Infinite Discs fundraiser disc, the CENTURION grabbed the #11 spot. The PIG is holding strong with two spots on the chart in both Pro and R-Pro as Ricky Wysocki continues to make use it in tournament play.

Once again, you can see the brands represented with different colors on the chart to more clearly show how much each is represented. Innova is still taking the most spots with 11 red lines, though Discraft blue has been holding some high positions on the chart this year with the Paul McBeth line.

Notice, we’ve got a new look to the Top 20 Tuesday chart now. The lines on the graph will be colored, based on the brand. That way you can see which colors are standing out each week and where brands are jumping in.

The top three lines are blue, ruled by Discraft with the #1 Zeus, #2 Anax, and #3 Luna. Those were the only three spots taken by Discraft this week as Innova (represented in red) flooded the Top 20 with a bunch of old favorites, taking 11 of the top 20 positions. That is likely due to the ongoing Innova restock we’ve got going here at Infinite Discs (it takes days to add an Innova shipment lately, since they come on pallets).

The four spot is taken by the Metallic Opto Trident, which we have only added to our online store quietly, in small bursts, but they keep getting snapped up. We also see three entries from Discmania, including the usual P2, and the popular new Method midrange, and the Tiger Warrior putter. The Kastaplast FALK sneaked into the #20 spot this week.

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #7 spot was taken by the Star Wraith this week. Colin guessed it first, with a later guess by Matt who said “because why not?” Well sure, why not? But sorry Matt, Colin guessed it first this time, so he takes the prize.

Top Twenty Tuesday for July 16th, 2019

#1 – ESP ANAX
#2 – ESP ZEUS (formerly the Kong)
#3 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#4 – Metallic Opto Trident
#5 – D-Line P2
#6 – Star DESTROYER
#7 – Neo METHOD
#8 – Prism Proton PYRO
#9 – ESP BUZZZ
#10 – Jawbreaker ROACH
#11 – Fuzion RAIDER
#12 – Swirly S-Blend X-Out PHARAOH
#13 – C-Line FD
#14 – Champion MAKO3
#15 – ESP COMET
#16 – Big Z ROACH
#17 – Splatter S-Blend Centurion
#18 – R-Pro PIG
#19 – Star SONIC
#20 – Star WRAITH

This week was another of those weeks where the top couple of discs just blew everything else away. The new prototype ANAX and the First Run ZEUS took the first two spots with a vengeance. If anybody has any question about whether or not a single player can swing a marketplace, just take a look at the sales of Paul McBeth’s new line and any doubts should be put to rest. The Luna putter in Paul’s line took the 3rd spot as well.

The #4 spot was taken by a disc that we just sneakily added a few to see if anybody would notice– the Metallic Opto Trident. That out-of-production overstable driver has a strong cult following! The P2 continues to be a strong-selling putter, taking the #5 spot. Other new releases like the Method and the Pyro are still handing around, as is the steady-selling Raider by Dynamic Discs.

It is interesting to see the Roach putter by Discraft moving up into the ranks, particularly in the Jawbreaker and Elite Z plastics. That Elite Z Roach is like a perfect substitute for the much-sought-after Big Z Luna.

Here is how the brands stacked up this week with the number of times they showed up in the Top 20:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #5 spot was picked up by the D-Line P2 this week, which is a disc that steadily holds top spots on the top 20 chart week after week. Colin was the only to guess that putter for the #5 spot, so he’s the winner this week!
