Latest Best-Selling Discs…Back in Stock!

There have been a good number of fun, new discs lately, and we’ve been surprised at Infinite Discs how fast some of them are flying off the shelves.

For example, when the new UNDERTAKER by Discraft arrived, we sold out in less than a week and had to re-order more as quickly as possible. Thankfully, we now have a new supply in stock!

Another recent release that sold fast and was out-of-stock for longer than we’d hoped due to the very warm reception in the disc golf market was the EMAC TRUTH.  We are now quickly running out of our second shipment and have a third on the way.

The new ONYX by Vibram also sold well as a very light-weight, beginner-friendly disc. At the pace it has been selling, it might make a play to be  Vibram’s most popular sellers this year.

We also quickly sold out of the new, beefy, overstable MOAB disc by Hyzer Bomb. We recently received a hearty supply of new discs for players who still want to check it out.

We were also excited about the warm reception of the very understable driver, SAIL by DGA which sold out almost immediately after arriving in stock. We’ve recently received a new supply in a variety of colors.

We currently have a nice supply of another new disc by Millennium called AQUARIUS which is a distance driver that floats on water so you don’t need to feel as afraid of those pesky water hazards.

Also, keep an eye on the Infinite Discs website for other recent and new releases, like the latest offerings from Axiom coming out this weekend, and the latest in the “A Series” approach discs by Prodigy.

Speaking of Prodigy…we were delighted by the new Practice Bag by Prodigy which simply flew out of the warehouse here at Infinite Discs. It is a great idea to have a simple, inexpensive, no frills bag that is made to carry a lot of discs when you need to transport them from one place to another, or you’re headed out to drill putting, or you just want a place to keep all your extra discs. At only $24 each, we had customers buying multiples for disc storage and transport. Just about everybody at Infinite Discs is standing in line for the restock order to arrive, because we all want them too!

Infinite Discs VIP Club – Introduction

INFINITEDISCS.COM is Proud to Present…

20160604_135009The Infinite Discs VIP Club!

Infinite Discs now runs a very exciting program for disc golf enthusiasts and collectors. If you’re a fan of fun, collectible discs, or you love exploring and throwing the newest discs on the market, from manufacturers both small and large, then you’ll love this!

Here is how it works:

Each month, all subscribers will be automatically charged a flat $21.99 rate for an exclusive VIP Club edition of a disc. The shipping cost is included in the subscription price.

Infinite Discs works with different disc manufacturers each month to produce popular discs with unique and exclusive stamps. Occasionally we will explore new plastics and colors. These will be LIMITED EDITIONS and clearly marked as Infinite VIP Club discs. They will not be sold individually on Infinitediscs.com or in any other store– only to our VIP Club subscribers! Once a disc is released to subscribers, there will be no more discs made with that same design, thus keeping your discs collectible and valuable!

matrix_proofThere are a limited number of VIP spots available. Once our pool of subscribers is full, you’ll have to wait in line for a spot to open so you can join the club.

Monthly disc shipments will occasionally include bonus items like stickers, keychains, minis, towels, and other disc golf swag! Though little, extra items are not the focus of the VIP Club, they can be fun additions to your monthly surprise package.

Once subscribers have joined the Infinite Discs VIP Club, they will be able to unsubscribe by notifying Infinite Discs VIP Support a month before the next release. Once your subscription is surrendered, somebody else can take your spot and you may not be able to join again until another spot opens.

defenderThis is a club for disc enthusiasts. Infinite Discs will not guarantee that any particular disc or manufacturer of your preference will be featured in any given month. The featured discs will be designed, ordered, and shipped at Infinite Disc’s discretion. We cannot guarantee that every disc will be your preferred model, but we can promise a large variety of putters, mid-ranges, fairway drivers, and distance drivers, all in premium quality plastics. If you are not excited about exploring discs from many different manufacturers with exclusive stamps, then the club is probably not for you.

Once your monthly subscription charge goes through, you can expect the exclusive disc to show up within the next 30 days. However, shipping times may vary due to postal destinations as well as unforeseen manufacturing delays. However, you will ALWAYS receive the disc you paid for, even if delayed due to reasons beyond our control.

Individuals will be able to subscribe for multiples of each monthly disc, up to 3 discs, but will be charged full price for each disc.

GIVE A VIP CLUB MEMBERSHIP AS A GIFT!  ONE ENTIRE YEAR!

Due to popular demand, memberships in the VIP Club can now be purchased for an entire year, either for yourself or as a gift to another player! You can pre-pay for an entire year in the club so that each monthly disc arrives without interruption. You won’t need to worry about paying again until the next year, should you decide to remain a member. This is one of the best gift ideas for any avid disc golfer! They can receive a pleasant surprise each and every month for an entire year!

The State of Disc Golf – Social vs. Solitary Play (Part 1)

Social Disc golfIn the 2016 “State of Disc Golf” survey, some interesting statistics demonstrate how our social lives interact with our game of disc golf.  Participants answered the simple question, “Who do you play disc golf with?”

Only 7% of those surveyed confessed that they “almost always” play alone.  Another 30% of those surveyed said that they “regularly” play alone. However, the 52% majority responded that they only “occasionally” play alone and another 11% that they “never” play alone.  So, if you like to get together with friends for a round of disc golf, then you are among the 63% that represent the more social crowd. If you prefer solitude, then you are among the 37% minority.

For those who are playing the game with other people, there is some interesting data that shows with whom you are most likely playing. Considering the lopsided balance between male and female players surveyed (95.7% male vs. 4.3% female) it should be no surprise to discover that 88% either “never” play with a spouse or significant other, or only “occasionally” play with a spouse or significant other. The remaining 12% ranges from “regularly” to “almost always”. Obviously, if you’re one of those players who finds himself (yes…most likely male) playing often with your significant other, then you are among the rare and the blessed. It would appear that finding a romantic relationship that can extend onto the disc golf course is an uphill battle.  Or perhaps, as a friend of mine once claimed during a disc golf outing, “I play disc golf to get away from my wife and kids—I would never want her here with me! This is my time!” I suppose if that makes you feel better…

Spouse or Significant Other
If the majority of us are social, but not playing with our significant other, then who are we playing with? The same general pattern emerges when asked about playing with family members. The majority of 80% responded that they either “never” or only “occasionally” play with family members. The other 20% either “regularly” or “almost always” play with family members. Thus playing with family is only slightly more popular than with significant others.

Family Members

As we move away from family ties, the pendulum swings. We found that almost everybody who plays socially is choosing to play with close friends. Only 6% of those surveyed confessed that they never play with close friends.

The other interesting statistic tied to this friendship factor is that a lot of those people we play with are folks that we met through the game of disc golf.  Only 15% say that they “never” play with people met through disc golf. 37% of those surveyed responded “occasionally”, while the other 48% a replied that they either “regularly” or “almost always” play with friends met through disc golf.

Those statistics would seem to suggest that the socially inclined players are very likely to meet new friends on the course with whom they will at least occasionally play. However, you should probably not expect that those new relationships will develop into a “significant other” or “spouse” status. Whether that is a good thing or an unfortunate thing is up to your interpretation, but it may shed some light on why this little video clip was so popular within the disc golf community, as it apparently borders upon pure fantasy:

In the near future, we’ll take a look at how the social and solitary players measure up in terms of other statistics, like disc ownership, personal evaluation of disc golf skills, competitive nature, etc.
