Most Brands In The Top 50

There are twelve different brands who have a disc in the top 50 best discs. Let’s take a look at which brands are represented, and how many molds they have.

Disc Golf brands with best selling drivers. Innova tops the list with 11 other disc golf companies having at least one disc that made the top 50.

Two brands make up 40% of the entire list of top 50 distance drivers. Innova and Discraft are two of the biggest brand on earth, and are staples in the disc golf world. It’s never surprising to see those two on the top of any list.

Taking the last podium spot is Infinite Discs, but MVP and Thought Space Athletics were nipping at their heels. Several other smaller brands also made the top 50 list: Lone Star Discs, Clash Discs, and Finish Line Discs also had at least one mold each in the top 50. Lone Star is the most senior of those three brands, but has still only been selling discs for a little over three years.

Top Rated Drivers

We’ve looked at the sales data for the top distance drivers, and now we’ll look at the top RATED discs. The infinite discs website allows customers to leave feedback and ratings on discs and accessories, and is a good resource for finding highly rated disc products. Let’s look at some of the distance drivers with the highest ratings.

Highest Rated Distance Drivers

Infinite Discs Emperor - Highest Rated Distance Driver for 2024

Taking the number one spot with the highest consumer rating for distance drivers is Infinite Discs’ popular high-speed driver, the Emperor. The speed 12 driver has a popular flight that features a little turn with a reliable solid fade. It is available in numerous plastic types. It is also the signature disc of some of the top pros. The Emperor has a 4.83 rating out of 5.

Two discs tied for the second place spot, both with an average rating of 4.78 out of five, are the Streamline Trace and the Infinite Discs Aztec. Both the Trace and the Aztec have similar flight ratings, the Trace being a speed 11 and the Aztec a speed 10.

Highest Rated Overstable Distance Drivers

Discmania Power Driver - Higest Rated Overstable Driver of 2023

Since the Emperor is considered an overstable driver and is the highest rated driver, it is obviously going to be the highest rated overstable driver. Since we talked about the Emperor above, let’s explore the next-best rated disc. In second place with 4.71 stars out of five is Discmania’s PD. The popular PD is a great disc for headwinds, or when you need a strong fade at the end of its flight. It is also the signature disc of several pros. The third highest rated overstable distance driver is the Innova Wraith, rated at 4.68 out of five.

Highest Rated Understable Disc Golf Driver

Infinite Discs Maya - Best Understable Driver of 2024

Looking at the other end of the stability spectrum we have the highest rated understable drivers. Topping the list are discs from Infinite, Innova, and Discraft. The currently highest-rated disc is the Infinite Discs Maya. Currently with a 4.68 rating, the Maya is a great high-speed disc golf maximum distance. With its understability the Maya is capable of giant turnover shots for some crushing drives. Or it can pick up some long distances on the ground as a roller.

The Innova Tern is the second-highest rated mold in this category with a rating of 4.63. The Tern has been a popular disc since it was released a decade ago. Like the Maya, it gives disc golfers a flight that can carve a lot of distance out of a long hole. It is available in most Innova plastics. Taking third place in the category is the Discraft Thrasher, with 4.57 out of five stars.

Highest Rated Stable & Straight Flying Drivers

Best Stable flying drivers of 2024 Infinite Dsics Aztec and Streamline Trace

Checking out distance drivers with a more neutral flight, meaning little turn and a less aggressive fade, we find the stable Aztec and Trace in a tie for the title of Best Stable Distance Driver. As mentioned above, the Aztec and the Trace have different speed ratings, but the same general flight. They both have a slight turn in flight, followed by a consistent, but not hard fade.

Having a nearly identical overall Infinite rating as the Aztec and Trace is the Discmania Enigma. Also nearly identical in flight numbers to the Aztec and Trace, the Enigma is slightly faster than Trace. The three discs that are the highest rated represent a similar flight at three different speed ratings. They would be excellent for a variety of skill levels.

  • Favorite- Innova Star Destroyer
    Overstable- Golden Cloudbreaker
    Understable- Discmania DD1 Stratosphere
Best distance driver 2025- Star Destroyer

  • 1 – My current favorite distance driver is a Fission Octane from MVP. Very controllable, with dependable fade but not super overstable.
2 – Top Overstable option for me is the good ol’ Z Nuke from Discraft, especially as I’m a forehand dominant player for distance shots. It’ll hold big flex lines and deal with headwinds with ease. Favorite understable option is the Lux Vapor Enigma from Discmania. Slightly more US than the more common plastic options, and very comfortable in the hand.
3 – Best is tough to say, but I’d say a disc that should be in more people’s (especially AM players) bags this year is the DD from Discmania. Understable bomber for intermediate level players and super comfortable on a forehand hyzer-flip.

  • Favorite: innova Valkyrie

    Favorite overstable: infinite Roman

    Favorite understable: Discraft hades

    Best in 2024: Discraft Zeus

  • 1. My favorite distance driver was the emperor. The dome specifically gave every one of my emperors the slow lateral movement that I want from my standard distance driver. Favorite os was the calvin destroyer, I got a beefy one and it’s the only disc I enjoy throwing in the wind. Best for next year will probably include a new overstable but not stupidly beefy mvp disc. I imagine they are going to find a way to fill a gap between the time-lapse and the panic

  • My favorite distance driver is the innova wraith. For more overstable I like a destroyer or a slab. I don’t bag any US distance drivers. I think wraith will remain on top next year

  • My favorite is the Latitude 64 Ballista

  • Favorite: Star Destroyer
    OS: Timelapse
    US: Maya
Best for next year will be the Emperor

  • Favorite Driver – Latitude 64 Grace (lean on this for everything possible)
US – Prodigy D4 Air Spectrum
OS – Destroyer or Time Lapse, depending on the shot and conditions
    2025 – Emperor

  • 2. This year Jessica weese echo star destroyers
    2. Overstable the Timelapse
    Understable C blend Maya
    3. Time lapse for 23 – more plastics, special editions, more sales

  • Favorite: MVP Fission Wave (163g & 174g)
    – As someone with moderate arm speed I use my 163 gram Fission Wave as my main distance driver, it gets a decent turn but not too much to burn over and still has enough fade to finish left. If I want a little bit more stability I’ll go up to my more max weight version.

Understable: MVP Fission Wave (154g) & Discraft Avenger SS (171g)
    – My lightweight Fission Wave is my big tailwind or hyzerflip disc, also gets thrown when I can’t miss to the left. The Avenger SS is my roller or big turnover disc.

Overstable: MVP Fission & Cosmic Neutron Photon
    – The Fission Photon is a great overstable option that’s still workable, it holds straight for a while before having a dependable fade at the end. Great for flex lines or stiff headwind shots. My Cosmic Neutron Photon is very overstable comparatively, more in the utility slot or even steeper flex lines.

    2024 Driver: Axiom Time Lapse
    – Obviously one of the most anticipated releases towards the end of 2023, it will be very interesting to see if it takes holds and becomes one of the main 12/13 speed drivers or if everyone goes back to their Destroyers and Nukes.

    • 1) Favorite driver = Discmania Cloudbreaker
      2) Favorite understable = Discraft Avenger – Favorite overstable = Discmania Splice
      3) Best 2024 Driver will be the new Eagle McMahon MVP Equivalent to the Cloudbreaker…Overstable, Fast, Reliable…

  • 1 – Wraith is my favorite! I cycle DX ones and carry a Color Glow Champ one too.
2 – Understable – A DX Wraith after a few tree hits. Overstable – Champ Destroyer
3 – I can’t imagine anything overtaking the Wraith. It’s just so versatile and available everywhere and in a small range of stabilities depeding on the plastic and individual disc.

  • Favorite – Star Wraith. It just feels right.
Favorite OS – Star Max. The only disc I have that will fly in the face of 40 mph southern Utah winds and still give me distance!
Favorite US – Neutron Wave. 163g and boy does it soar. Not flippy per se, but loooong flights are the norm.
Best 2024 – Gotta be the wraith!

    • Favorite driver – GG Halo wraith
Favorite stable – GG halo wraith
Favorite understable – haven’t been able to get one I can throw consistently yet. My beat in crave or anax take that spot at the moment.
Favorite for 2024 – the GG halo wraith or the emperor. I started throwing the g blend emperor and it is great.

  • Favorite distance driver this year has got to be any version of a DD3, cloudbreakers especially!

  • My favorite distance driver is the discmania dd3. I actually won a giveaway of one of the first s-line dd3 when they launched last year, unfortunately as one does playing this game I lost that sucker. Great disc, always have to keep a couple spare dd3’s whenever I go now!

  • My favorite distance driver is the discmania S line DD3

The best OS – Calvin Halo Star Destroyer
The best US – Mvp wave

I bet the best seller in 2024 will be the axiom Time-Lapse

  • All-around driver: MVP Wave (all of the plastic options seem to work quite well)
    OS driver: Innova Destroyer (G-/Star)
US driver: Infinite Discs Maya (C-blend)
2025 Best driver (meaning best sales?): Innova Wraith again

  • wraith, destroyer, charger were you guys looking in my bag?

  • 1 — What is your favorite distance driver?
Currently limiting myself to 9 speeds, with a Neutron Lift being my current go to. Looking forward to some faster discs so I can throw my all time favorite – Star Orc.
2 – What is your favorite over/understable distance driver? My ColorGlow Champion Orc has a hard finish, and with my slower arm speed would be my overstable choice. For understable, my 165g Star Mamba is incredibly flippy.

3 – What do you think will be the best distance driver for next year?
I’m really looking forward to the new James Conrad MVP Trail, hoping it will give some easy shapeable distance.

  • 1 – My favorite distance driver is the Emperor or Grace
2 – My favorite overstable driver is the halo Emperor and understable is the big z Thrasher
3 – Whatever Simon says lol. I think the Time Lapse will be very popular, along with the Grace, and whatever signature driver comes out for Gannon Buhr with discmania.

  • 1- Favorite & Go-to distance driver has to be the Hades, i’ve picked up a few prototype ones and man they are money! Love to get a hyzer flip to turn for those max distance shots!
2- Favorite Overstable: Axiom Time-Lapse, MVP Tesla.
The hype around the time-lapse is real! Lost my Zeus and this took the place just fine, not only useful, but just a cool disc to have! The tesla has just always been a big one for me, I love that straight flight to a reliable overstable fade at the end.
Favorite understable: Discraft Hades, Lone Star Curl.
I’ve already wrote a paragraph about the Hades, I seriously recommend picking one up if you don’t have one, they’re awesome!
The curl also has a nice flip up (but not too much) into a laser straight flight at that angle you put it on! One of my favorites definitely!
3-As for the “best” distance driver of 2024, from a sales perspective I’d have to go wraith, but from a personal perspective I think as I think my time-lapse is gonna beat in real nicely over this year and that might be my favorite distance driver of 2024.
