The Captain’s Raptor from Discraft is another popular mold that doesn’t come around very often. This is a modified molds similar to the Raptor; it has a flatter top and is designed to be more overstable.

GUESSING GAME –> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #9 spot this past week was the Infinite Discs Halo S-Blend Tomb. Not much needs to be said about this mold, is it one of the most popular putt & approach discs on the market! If you haven’t tried it, you MUST.

NEXT WEEK: Guess the #12 spot for next week. The first person to get it right (including the disc model and plastic type) will win!

THANKS FOR READING AND WATCHING EACH WEEK!

Top 100 Distance Drivers – 2020 Edition

Top 100 Distance Drivers

Comprehensive 2020 Edition

Welcome to another Disc Data blog! Today we’re going to take an in depth look at the Top 100 Distance Drivers. We’ll be using our sales data from the past year to determine which disc golf distance drivers are the most popular. We’ll first take a look at the Top 100 list, then we’ll break it down into smaller, bite-sized pieces.

Note: We can’t show exact sold quantities, but we can show you the sales figures when compared to each other. This still provides a great visual presentation of which discs are the most popular when compared to others.

The Top 100 Distance Drivers

This chart shows the Top 100 Distance Drivers

That is a pretty long list of distance drivers, so let’s break it down by speed. That will allow us to see how similar discs compared to one another in sales.

SPEED 14 DRIVERS

The fastest distance drivers on the market are those which are given a speed-14 rating. That speed rating is based on the width of the rim. The wider the rim, the higher the speed. That basically means that the wider the rim, the faster (more powerful) the player must throw the disc to keep it aloft. Higher speed can equate to more distance, but only if the player has the skill and arm speed to keep it in the air. A speed-14 disc usually has a rim width of 2.5cm, the widest allowed by the PDGA.

The Corvette took the #1 spot for the highest speed discs, mostly because it was the newest distance driver from Innova in the 2019 year. The Ballista Pro came in 2nd as a very good driver from the Latitude 64 line, designed for experienced players.

SPEED 13 DRIVERS

Still on the faster side of the distance driver spectrum, the Speed-13 drivers are very popular. They are slightly more accessible to the general player pool than those with the widest possible rim. But they still require a lot of speed to maximize their distance performance.

The Infinite Discs Pharaoh has been a hot seller for Infinite Discs ever since it was introduced as the fastest distance driver in their disc line (manufactured by Innova). It likely takes the #1 spot because Infinite Discs was the only place to get one during the 2019 season. However, the Pharaoh will become available to other stores as 2020 progresses.  The Shryke and Boss by Innova take the next two spots and then the relatively new Raider by Dynamic Discs took the #4 position.

SPEED 12 DRIVERS

The most popular speed rating in drivers appears to be the Speed-12 class. This rim size is more manageable for many players, including professional players who throw some of the most popular drivers in the market.

The Destroyer by Innova was once again the #1 selling distance driver of 2019 at Infinite Discs. It is thrown by a lot of professional players and amateurs alike. So, it also takes the top spot among speed-12 drivers, though the Zeus by Discraft (in the Paul McBeth line of discs) gave the Destroyer a run for its money when it was introduced in 2019.

SPEED 11 DRIVERS

Discs with a Speed-11 rating have been picking up in popularity among many players. While they may initially pull the trigger on a 12 or 13 because they see experienced players throwing them, those same players often discover that they can actually get more distance with a speed-11. For a lot of players, this is about as fast as they can honestly handle.

The Wraith by Innova is one of those distance drivers that has been increasing in popularity lately, taking off as the new favorite for more of the amateur players. However, you will see some professionals, including some of the best female players in the world, throwing a Wraith.

SPEED 10 DRIVERS

Usually a Speed-9 or Speed-10 driver is considered a good place to start for new players who want to test the distance driver category. It is fast enough, but not overly fast even for newer players. These are the best-sellers with a speed-10 rating at Infinite Discs.

The Beast by Innova took the #1 spot in this speed category. The Orc has something of a cult following, selling particularly well in the collector’s market, due to the incidental swirls and number of “pre-flight number” discs floating around. They are more rare when they are found without the flight numbers included on the stamp. The Avenger SS by Discraft has recently picked up steam as another Paul McBeth signature edition, though it is quite a bit slower and more beginner friendly than most other discs that he is seen throwing in tournaments.

SPEED 9 DRIVERS

The Speed-9 class of discs is actually that fuzzy line between a true “distance driver” and a “fairway driver.” Being slower, they are somewhat easier to control in precision situations and work nicely as entry-level distance drivers for newer players.

There are some speed-9 discs which are on the top-sellers chart because their manufacturer calls them “distance drivers.” However, there are other speed-9 discs that are not on this chart or included in the data because the manufacturer calls them “fairway drivers” or “control drivers.” Hot sellers that don’t appear here because of that designation would be discs like the Innova Firebird, or Innova Valkyrie, or Dynamic Discs Felon, etc.

So, when it comes to speed-9 discs, expect the numbers to be as fuzzy as the designation between being a distance or fairway driver.

QUANTITY SOLD BY SPEED DESIGNATION

Here is one more interesting chart for you. It shows the most popular speed class when the sales are separated into the speed categories. Once again, keep in mind that the Speed-9 class is fuzzy because it excludes the sales of many popular speed-9 discs that are categorized by their manufacturers as control drivers or fairway drivers.

It doesn’t take a trained eye to notice that the Speed-12 category is the most popular. That is the category that includes the top sellers like the Destroyer and the Zeus.

We hope that you have enjoyed looking at this data. Feel free to share your opinions and favorite distance drivers in the comments.

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – FEBRUARY 4TH 2020

It is time once again for our look back at the last week of sales. This weekly chart is generated from the sales figures at Infinite Discs – the purchases made by our customers are the only contributing factor to the statistics. We break the results down by disc model and plastic type so you can see which plastic types are selling the most. Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for February 4th, 2020

#1 – ESP HEAT
#2 – Discraft Prototype Putter Blend FIERCE
#3 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#4 – ESP BUZZZ
#5 – D-Line P2
#6 – Z-Line ZONE
#7 – Star DESTROYER
#8 – Star WRAITH
#9 – ESP AVENGER SS
#10 – ESP ANAX
#11 – ESP ZEUS
#12 –R-Pro PIG
#13 – Star FL
#14 – Star ROADRUNNER
#15 – P-Line Soft P2
#16 – Titanium UNDERTAKER
#17 – ESP UNDERTAKER
#18 – DX AVIAR
#19 – Swirly S-Line FD
#20 – Pro Line X-Out SAIL

Discraft dominated the Top 20 chart this last week with our special edition ESP HEAT jumping to the top spot, followed closely by the Paige Pierce signature putter, which is now officially called the FIERCE at #2. The LUNA and BUZZZ took the #3 and #4 spots with the Z-Line ZONE at #6 and several other discs down the chart, like the Anax, Zeus and Undertaker.

Discmainia hit the chart three times with the D-Line P2 always in strong position, but with the P-Line Soft P2 entering the chart and the Swirly S-Line FD as well. Innova has some regulars on the chart like the Star DESTROYER, WRAITH, ROADRUNNER, and the R-Pro PIG still hanging strong at #12.

Another interesting entry is the #20 spot where an X-Out (Factory 2nd) edition of the SAIL entered the chart. We recently stocked up on some X-Out discs from DGA and the SAIL is always a solid seller as an understable distance driver for players that have slower arm speeds. It’s fun to see the DGA Sail hit the chart as it gets more players trying it out.

Interestingly, that is ONLY 4 brands that showed up in the Top 20 this week! That’s pretty rare! Here is a look at how many times the different brands hit the chart this week:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #8 spot this week was taken by the Star WRAITH which is a regular chart-dweller. Congratulations to RYAN who picked it correctly this week and wins the gift card.

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JANUARY 28TH 2020

It is time once again for our look back at the last week of sales. This weekly chart is generated from the sales figures at Infinite Discs – the purchases made by our customers are the only contributing factor to the statistics. We break the results down by disc model and plastic type so you can see which plastic types are selling the most. Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for January 28th, 2020

#1 – Paige Pierce Prototype Putter
#2 – Star DESTROYER
#3 – Star WRAITH
#4 – D-Line P2
#5 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#6 – KC Pro CLASSIC ROC
#7 – Z-Line ZONE
#8 – ESP ZEUS
#9 – Star MAKO3
#10 – ESP AVENGER SS
#11 – ESP BUZZZ
#12 – C-Blend RUIN
#13 – Titanium UNDERTAKER
#14 – XT Mix NOVA
#15 – Signature Swirly S Line DD3
#16 – DX AVIAR
#17 – Base Grip P MODEL S
#18 – BT Medium SHIELD
#19 – R-Pro PIG
#20 – Champion MAKO3

For the 2nd week in a row, the Paige Pierce Prototype Putter took the #1 spot on the Top 20 Tuesday chart. The 2nd spot was taken by the Star DESTROYER, but the Star WRAITH has been steadily climbing to challenge the Destroyer as Innova’s best-selling driver.

Discmania hit the chart a couple of times with the D-Line P2 taking the 4th spot (always a strong seller) and the DD3 Signature edition climbing back onto the chart as well.

The KC Pro CLASSIC ROC has hit the chart, since Infinite Discs has a couple of custom stamps on the old-school disc which has a small diameter and more of a putter profile than the modern ROC  does.

Here is a look at how many times different brands hit the Top 20 this week:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #6 spot this week was taken by the KC Pro Classic Roc which surged on the chart due to its availability with both the “Parachute Penguin” stamp and the Las Vegas Challenge stamp. There were some great guesses for that spot, but nobody picked the Classic Roc. Maybe next week!

GIFT CARD PREDICTION FOR NEXT WEEK:  Leave your comment below to guess the #8 spot for next chart.  It will go to the FIRST person to get it right. Good luck!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – DECEMBER 10TH 2019

Welcome back to the Top 20 Tuesday chart! We waited since November 19th to bring back the chart so that it would more accurately reflect the total sales for all of our Black Friday week-long sales. Now that the dust is settled, here is a look at what sold the most at Infinite Discs since November 19th:

Top Twenty Tuesday for November 20th – December 10th 2019

#1 – ESP BANGER GT
#2 – ESP BUZZZ GT
#3 – XT Mix NOVA
#4 – R-Pro PIG
#5 – Star DESTROYER
#6 – Metal Flake C-Line FD
#7 – Metal Flake Glow C-Blend AZTEC
#8 – Tournament Burst MAIDEN
#9 – Champion THUNDERBIRD
#10 – ESP XL
#11 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#12 – Star WRAITH
#13 – Lucid X Chameleon JUDGE
#14 – 350G PA-3
#15 – S-Blend PHARAOH
#16 – Aura MANTRA
#17 – D-Line P2
#18 – Royal PROFIT
#19 – ESP ZEUS
#20 – Star THUNDERBIRD

It goes without saying that this chart is abnormal, since the results are driven largely by the special releases and exclusive discs offered during the sale. But it is still interesting to see how the sales panned out. The Banger GT and Buzzz GT by Discraft took the top 2 spots, punctuating a growing interest in Discraft in 2019. The XT Nova took the #3 spot because of the run of “Black and White” Novas that we featured in our ad, followed by the Innova PIG which has had a very strong year, thanks to Ricky Wysocki using it as his primary upshot disc. The Star Destroyer did well, as expected, followed by the Metal Flake FD by Discmania in the 6th spot.

The AZTEC by Infinite Discs enjoyed a debut release with the Alien Aztec stamped glow edition jumping up on the chart. The Tournament Burst MAIDEN by Westside also did well, as this was its first time in a premium, durable plastic blend.

Here is a look at how many times different brands appeared on the Top 20 chart:

You can see the clash of the 2019 titans with Innova and Discraft appearing 6 and 5 times, with several appearances by other brands taking 1 or 2 spots each. Not showing on the chart, but coming very close were the Kastaplast Berg and Reko which sold very well, but barely missed the chart.

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – We didn’t do the usual guessing contest for this chart, since it was a longer period with a lot of previous unannounced special releases. But we’ll resume for the coming week if you want to place your guess.

GIFT CARD PREDICTION FOR NEXT WEEK:  Leave your comment below to guess the #3 spot for next week. It will go to the FIRST person to get it right. Good luck!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – OCTOBER 1st 2019

Welcome to another Top 20 Tuesday sales chart. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Top Twenty Tuesday for October 1st, 2019

#1 – Big Jerm Concrete SLAB
#2 – Royal PROFIT
#3 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#4 – Swirly S-Blend PHARAOH
#5 – Star DESTROYER
#6 – ESP ANAX
#7 – ESP MALTA
#8 – D-Line P2
#9 – Signature Swirly S-Line CD2
#10 – ESP ZEUS
#11 – P-Line Stiff P2
#12 – ESP BUZZZ
#13 – R-Pro PIG
#14 – KC Pro ROC
#15 – Tortoise Line TOMAHAWK
#16 – EXO Hard LINK
#17 – Swirly S-Blend X-Out PHARAOH
#18 – Tortoise Line METEOR HAMMER
#19 – K3 REKO
#20 – I-Blend PHARAOH

This week’s #1 spot was grabbed by the signature edition Big Jerm (Jeremy Koling) Concrete SLAB. It’s one of the most overstable drivers on the market and Big Jerm has become a fan while adding it to his bag. Spot #2 was grabbed by the debut putter from Mint Discs, the PROFIT, followed closely by the LUNA which has been near the top for months.

The #4 spot was claimed by the Tortoise Line TOMAHAWK by Yikun Discs.

Here is a look at how many times different brands showed up on this week’s chart:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The number 15 spot was taken by the Tortoise Line TOMAHAWK mid-range by Yikun. The winner is Brandon who guessed it correctly. Great job on that guess!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JUNE 4TH 2019

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for June 4th, 2019

#1 – ESP KONG
#2 – Swirly Star DESTROYER
#3 – D-Line P2
#4 – Star DESTROYER
#5 – Star ORC
#6 – ESP FLX PREDATOR
#7 – Lucid VANDAL
#8 – S-Line DD3
#9 – Swirly S-Blend PHARAOH
#10 – Signature ESP BUZZZ
#11 – Star WRAITH
#12 – Neutron ENTROPY
#13 – Retro KEYSTONE
#14 – Fuzion RAIDER
#15 – Champion Colored Glow FIREBIRD
#16 – 400 Spectrum PA-1
#17 – Champion MAKO3
#18 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#19 – DX AVIAR
#20 – Star CORVETTE

The new DD3 dropped to the #8 spot from a strong #1 last week, but only because we completely sold out at Infinite Discs. Thus, the Kong reclaimed the #1 spot this week with the Swirly Star Destroyer jumping in at #2 because of the Calvin Heimburg signature release.  The D-Line P2 has held strong for many weeks and many months and continues to be the top-selling putter at Infinite Discs. The Star Destroyer stayed in the mix at #4 with the Star ORC coming in right behind at #5 because of the collectors that keep raiding our inventory for the Pre-Flight Orcs (quite a collector’s item).

The ESP FLX Predator, which was a special run for Infinite Discs, entered strongly into the chart at the #6 spot, followed by the Lucid VANDAL which sold because we had some remaining discs from the local Trilogy Challenge (same with the Retro Keystone).

Here is a look at how many times the different brands entered the chart this week, where Innova again dominated with good sales on several of their popular discs:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #6 spot this week went to the ESP FLX Predator, which would have been a very difficult (and lucky) guess, since it was a special run of discs that most disc enthusiasts likely had no idea was coming. There were several very good guesses though. It looks like a lot of you readers are putting some very tactical and thoughtful guesses out there every week! Keep it up!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – MAY 7TH 2019

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Here we go…

#2 – Metal Flake Glow C-Blend EMPEROR
#3 – ESP KONG
#4 – Cosmic Neutron SL FLARE
#5 – D-Line P2
#6 – Fuzion RAIDER
#7 – Star DESTROYER
#8 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#9 – Tour Series Pro Color Glow ROC3

#15 – Champion FIREBIRD
#16 – XT Mix NOVA
#17 – Prime Burst JUDGE
#18 – R-Pro AVIAR
#19 – KC Pro AVIAR
#20 – S-Line P2

The chart this week had a nice battle for the top with the new Neo INSTINCT by Discmania taking the #1 spot for its release week, and the Metal Flake Glow C-Blend EMPEROR by Infinite Discs taking the 2nd spot on its new release week. The KONG feel to 3rd place, but is hanging out regularly around the top, with the new FLARE by Streamline discs takes the #4 spot, still selling well with a new limited edition stamp. The new Fuzion RAIDER by Dynamic Discs is still cruising strong at the #6 spot, beating out the long-time top-dweller, the Star DESTROYER.

Here is a chart showing the number of times that different brands appeared in this week’s top 20:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #6 spot this week went to the FUZION RAIDER. The first comment which guessed Fuzion Raider for the #6 spot was left by Matthew. Congratulations to Matthew, and this isn’t his first win either. Nice work.
