TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JANUARY 22nd 2019

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. It can be fun to see which discs keep up the pace.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for JANUARY 22nd, 2019

#1 – Star DESTROYER
#2 – Signature Titanium UNDERTAKER
#3 – Signature Elite Z FORCE
#4 – XT BULLFROG
#5 – Star WRAITH
#6 – Champion FIREBIRD
#7 – DX X-Out ROC3
#8 – K3 REKO
#9 – Origio Burst MAIDEN
#10 – C-Line Luster FD
#11 – D-Line P2
#12 – XT Mix NOVA
#13 – Signature Elite Z ZONE
#14 – KC Pro AVIAR
#15 – C-Line PD Freak
#16 – ESP VULTURE
#17 – Star X-Out DESTROYER
#18 – Star LEOPARD3
#19 – Star SHRYKE
#20 – K3 BERG

The Star Destroyer absolutely destroyed the chart, wiping out any other top contenders in this week’s sales. A lot of that has to do with the fact that we got a big restock of Ricky Wysocki Destroyers, while we ran out of Paul McBeth signature discs. More of those are coming from Discraft soon, so the numbers should swing a bit in that regard.

We see a couple of X-Out (factory 2nd) entries into the chart this week as well as we also got a big restock of misprints and factory 2nd discs from Innova. Another restock that made a splash was the much needed restock of Kastaplast discs, boosting both the Reko and Berg putters into the top 20 for this week.

Here is a chart showing the number of times that different brands appeared in this week’s chart:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The first three people to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #12 spot was the pick for this week’s chart and we saw four people get it right with the XT Mix Nova as their guess. We’ll go ahead and give those four people the gift card for this week. But get your guess in early because we’re going to make sure we only pick three if there are a lot of same guesses coming in the future. Congratulations Steven, Dawson, Drew, and Matthew!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – DECEMBER 18TH 2018

Infinite Discs is happy to present the weekly blog post called TOP TWENTY TUESDAY where we let you know about the short-term sales trends for discs. We’ll show the sales figures from the previous Tuesday through the most recent Monday. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle spots. It can be fun to see which discs keep up the pace. These will also be broken down by plastic types, so the same model can show up in multiple plastics.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for DECEMBER 18th, 2018

#1 – Star DESTROYER
#2 – XT BULLFROG
#3 – Sirius SCORPIUS
#4 – Eclipse DEFLECTOR
#5 – C-Line Luster FD
#6 – Star ORC
#7 – Swirly S-Line PD2
#8 – Full Foil Super Color BUZZZ
#9 – D-Line P2
#10 – Swirly ESP BUZZZ
#11 – XT Mix NOVA
#12 – Star WRAITH
#13 – P-Line Soft P2
#14 – Metal Flake Glow C-Blend PHARAOH
#15 – Champion FIREBIRD
#16 – Star LEOPARD3
#17 – P-Line P2
#18 – KC Pro AVIAR
#19 – ESP FORCE
#20 – Classic Burst WARDEN

This week, we see the Star Destroyer jump back to the top position, where it tends to hang out quite regularly. The new Bullfrog flat-topped, low-glide putt-and-approach disc jumped to the 2nd spot, and the 3rd position was taken by the Sirius SCORPIUS by Millennium since we saw the release of the Gregg Barsby signature edition.

Some of the other spots are filled by discs which seem to be making a regular home on the top 20 chart, like the different P2 putters, different Buzzz discs in different plastics, etc. The ESP Force jumped into the 19th spot as it has also received a boost from McBeth hype.

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The first three people to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $15 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The guessing contest for this week’s chart was for the #10 position. We had several people guess on the Elite Z Buzzz, which is a very good guess. But nobody picked the Swirly ESP Buzzz, which jumped onto the chart because of the new swirly Ledgestone 2019 editions that game in, robbing the Elite Z plastic of attention this week. Sorry…no winners this week.

GIFT CARD PREDICTION FOR TWO WEEKS:  Leave your comment below this blog to predict the #3 spot for two weeks from now, since we’ll skip the Tuesday Top 20 next week for Christmas.  Leave your guess for #3 in the comments, and thanks for supporting the Tuesday Top 20!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – DECEMBER 11TH 2018

Infinite Discs is happy to present the weekly blog post called TOP TWENTY TUESDAY where we let you know about the short-term sales trends for discs. We’ll show the sales figures from the previous Tuesday through the most recent Monday. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle spots. It can be fun to see which discs keep up the pace. These will also be broken down by plastic types, so the same model can show up in multiple plastics.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for DECEMBER 11th, 2018

#1 – P-Line Soft P2
#2 – Star DESTROYER
#3 – D-Line P2
#4 – Origio Burst MAIDEN
#5 – Star TEEBIRD3
#6 – BT Hard Burst Moonshine MAIDEN
#7 – P-Line P2
#8 – Metal Flake Glow C-Blend PHARAOH
#9 – Full Foil Super Color BUZZZ
#10 – Fission TESLA
#11 – ESP UNDERTAKER
#12 – Titanium UNDERTAKER
#13 – Elite Z BUZZZ
#14 – Neutron DEFLECTOR
#15 – C-Line Luster FD
#16 – DX AVIAR
#17 – Elite Z ZONE
#18 – XT Mix NOVA
#19 – Star TEEBIRD
#20 – Sirius SCORPIUS

The far flying Star Destroyer dropped to 2nd place for the first time in a while with the P-Line Soft P2 taking its place at #1.  The P2 holds three spots in this week’s chart, and that seems pretty typical as the P2 putter by Discmania has been the hottest selling putter all year at Infinite Discs. The Maiden by Westside is holding strong with the #4 and #6 spots this week– an exceptionally straight-flying, flat-topped, low profile putter.  The Metal Flake Glow C-Blend Pharaoh is still selling strong since its release before Thanksgiving.  One of the biggest movers in the charts this last week has been DISCRAFT in general, with the BUZZZ taking two spots (Full Foil Super Color sparked again with the Star Wars releases) and the Undertaker driver taking two spots, and the Zone taking a spot. That is 5 spots for Discraft week!  Also, the Sirius Scorpius by Millennium entered the chart on word that a Gregg Barsby signature edition is coming.

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The first three people to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $15 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER? – The guessing contest for this week’s chart was for the #5 position, and it looks like we didn’t get a winner. There were some excellent guesses for discs that ended up all over the chart, but the closest to the #5 Teebird3 was somebody guessing the Star Teebird (very close, but not quite).

GIFT CARD PREDICTION FOR NEXT WEEK:  Leave your comment below this blog to predict the #10 spot for next week’s “Top Twenty Tuesday” chart.  Have fun and good luck!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – NOVEMBER 6th 2018

Infinite Discs is happy to present the weekly blog post called TOP TWENTY TUESDAY where we let you know about the short-term sales trends for discs. We’ll show the sales figures from the previous Tuesday through the most recent Monday.
New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle spots. It can be fun to see which discs keep up the pace. These will also be broken down by plastic types, so the same model can show up in multiple plastics.
HERE WE GO…

Top Twenty Tuesday for NOVEMBER 6th, 2018

#3 – XT Mix NOVA
#5 – DX AVIAR
#6 – D-Line P2
#8 – Eclipse ENVY
#9 – P-Line P2
#11 – Star SHRYKE
#12 – Fission VOLT
#16 – GStar KRAIT
This week’s chart looks very, very odd compared to the last few weeks. The announcement by Innova that Paul McBeth would be leaving the brand had a huge impact on sales of discs that have a Paul McBeth signature. The Star Destroyer absolutely demolished all of the competition, winning the #1 spot several times over. Also in the top 20, we can see the McPro Aviar, the XT Nova, the Champion Roc3, the Champion Thunderbird, and the GStar Krait, all of which have Paul McBeth signatures.
Also making the first appearance in the Top Twenty Tuesday charts are two X-Out discs– the Star X-Out Destroyer, and the I-Blend X-Out Sphinx.  We do sell a lot of X-Outs and Misprints here at Infinite Discs, so is interesting to see a couple of those spike onto the chart. We also saw a couple of MVP discs hit the chart this week, due to the released of the Jalapeno Assassin stamp on a bunch of MVP and Axiom discs models.
The Exodus also hit the chart in both S-Blend and I-Blend since it is on sale this week. Watch for another model from Infinite Discs to go on sale at the end of this week.

Our winners for this week, guessing that the #7 spot would be the Champion Roc3, are Rick Meyer and Trevor Andrews. Good job guys!

Top Twenty Tuesday – October 30th 2018

Infinite Discs is happy to present the weekly blog post called TOP TWENTY TUESDAY where we let you know about the short-term sales trends for discs. We’ll show the sales figures from the previous Tuesday through the most recent Monday.
New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle spots. It can be fun to see which discs keep up the pace. These will also be broken down by plastic types, so the same model can show up in multiple plastics.
HERE WE GO…

Top Twenty Tuesday for OCTOBER 30th, 2018

#5 – Star ORC
#7 – D-Line P2
#8 – P-Line P2
#14 – Eclipse ENVY
#15 – DX LEOPARD
#16 – Star SHRYKE
#17 – Star WRAITH
#18 – DX AVIAR
There was a lot of shuffling around this week. The Eclipse Envy dropped from a run-away 1st-place spot last week to #14 this week, showing how a new release (particularly with a limited edition) can spike in its first week. Plus, our supply diminished, which undoubtedly slowed sales. Taking the #1 spot this week was the new Signature Glow C-Line MD4 that came out during the last week supporting Simon Lizotte. The Star Destroyer keeps a hold near the top, and coming in third was the Galactic McPro Aviar because of the USDGC Champion commemorative edition. Oddly, the Nova and Orc both spiked in sales this last week, pushing ahead of the very popular P2 putters that dropped in three different plastics to spots 7, 8, and 9.  Also odd this last week was the movement of the Pro Aviar-X (JK mold) upward from nowhere to even pass the DX Aviar, which is a top-selling standard.  Also entering the chart for the first time is the new Marksman by HyzerBomb.

Surprisingly, there were no winners from the guessing for the last week, as the Mako3 slid into the #12 spot out. It hadn’t been on a chart yet, so that was a bit unexpected. Feel free to guess for the next chart.
GIFT CARD PREDICTION FOR NEXT WEEK:  Guess the #7 spot for next week’s chart!

Putter Wars 2017 Finale – The Best Selling Putters

We’ve been tracking putters sales all through the year 2017, curious to see which would rise to the top by the end of the year. The early lead by the Discmania P2 simply gained momentum as the year went on. The results are in, and these are the top 20 best-selling putt-and-approach discs at INFINITE DISCS.

TOP-20 BEST SELLING PUTTERS

#1 Discmania P2
#2 Innova AVIAR
#3 Dynamic Discs JUDGE
#4 Innova NOVA
#5 Gateway WIZARD
#6 Westside HARP
#7 Latitude 64 PURE
#8 Axiom ENVY
#9 Dynamic Discs WARDEN
#10 Innova AVIAR3
#11 Latitude 64 DAGGER
#12 MVP ATOM
#13 Streamline PILOT
#14 Discraft ZONE
#15 MVP ION
#16 Innova KC PRO AVIAR
#17 MVP ANODE
#18 Dynamic Discs SLAMMER
#19 Dynamic Discs DEPUTY
#20 Westside SHIELD

LOOK AT THE SPREAD

That list of top-20 features a lot of great putters. But perhaps the most interesting statistic about that list is the huge disparity between #1 and #20 in terms of numbers sold. The #20 Shield putter sold less than one tenth the number of the #1 P2 putter!  The P2 also sold more than the #3 Judge and #4 Nova combined!

WHICH P2 PLASTIC SOLD THE MOST?

The top-selling putter, the Discsmania P2, is popular in several plastics. Here are the plastic types ranked in order by most popular in terms of sales at Infinite Discs in 2017:

#1 D Line
#2 P Line
#3 S Line
#4 D Line Glow
#5 Swirly S Line
#6 C Line Luster
#7 X Line
#8 Signature P Line (Pro Support disc)
#9 D Line X-Out (factory second or misprint)
#10 G Line

When it comes to putters, softer plastic blends still rule. They are usually preferred for actual putting, while the more durable plastics are preferred for approaches and drives.

Top Discs of Summer 2015

Top Selling Discs Summer 2015

Summer is our biggest time of year for disc sales. During the third quarter (July – September), we typically see less new releases come out than we do during the spring months.  The Q3 sales report gives us a good grasp on what the top disc golf discs really are based on sales data. From our third quarter sales, it’s clear that Innova is still the #1 manufacturer for disc sales. Trilogy and MVP continue to gain market share and grow in popularity while Discraft and Prodigy appear to be trending towards less relevant.

If you’re looking for a new disc to buy, but aren’t sure where to start, you may want to consider these. There is a reason disc golfers all around the world keep buying these top rated discs.

Top Disc Golf Discs for Q3 2015

Top 10 Overall

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Discraft Buzzz
  3. Gateway Wizard
  4. Innova TeeBird
  5. Dynamic Discs Judge
  6. Innova Boss
  7. Latitude 64 River
  8. Innova Valkyrie
  9. Latitude 64 Pure
  10. Innova Tern

There weren’t a lot of changes in the top selling discs of the third quarter compared with the second quarter. The Innova Destroyer was still the top selling disc followed by the Discraft Buzzz, Gateway Wizard, and Innova TeeBird.

Top Distance Drivers

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Innova Boss
  3. Innova Valkyrie
  4. Innova Tern
  5. MVP Inertia
  6. MVP Photon
  7. Innova Wraith
  8. Innova Beast
  9. Vibram Lace
  10. Innova Katana

For Distance drivers, there is almost no change between the top selling discs from the second quarter. Call it the Paul McBeth effect, as Innova flat out dominates the distance driver market with seven of the top ten selling drivers.

Top Control/Fairway Drivers

  1. Innova Teebird
  2. Latitude 64 River
  3. Innova Leopard
  4. Latitude 64 Saint
  5. Innova Thunderbird
  6. MVP Volt
  7. Discmania FD
  8. MVP AMP
  9. Westside Hatchet
  10. Innova Eagle

Innova Champion discs also has a strong presence in in fairway driver sales. The TeeBird is still the #1 selling driver. While most of the top selling fairway drivers remain the same, the MVP Volt dropped from #3 to #6 during the third quarter. The Discmania FD, Westside Hatchet, and Innova Eagle made our top 10 replacing the  DD Felon, Vibram Trak, Axiom Crave, and Latitude 64 Trident.

Top Midrange Discs

  1. Discraft Buzzz
  2. Innova Roc3
  3. Dynamic Discs Truth
  4. Innova Mako3
  5. Innova Roc
  6. Discraft Buzzz OS
  7. Latitude 64 Claymore
  8. MVP Axis
  9. Latitude 64 Fuse
  10. Discraft Comet

The Discraft Buzzz remains the top selling midrange disc, and is the only midrange that made the top 10 overall.  While the Comet cracked the top 10, it is actually only our 73rd top selling disc. Entering the top 10 this quarter are the MVP Axis and Latitude 64 Fuse — replacing the Dynamic Discs Justice and Discraft Buzzz SS.

To Putt and Approach Discs

  1. Gateway Wizard
  2. Dynamic Discs Judge
  3. Latitude 64 Pure
  4. Innova Colt
  5. Innova Aviar
  6. Axiom Envy
  7. MVP Anode
  8. MVP Atom
  9. Innova KC Aviar
  10. MVP Ion

While Distance Drivers is the top selling category overall, Putt and approach discs are second. The Wizard, Judge, and Pure are all top ten selling discs with the Innova Colt not far behind. MVP/Axiom putters were not quite as popular this quarter as the Envy and Atom both dropped a few spots compared with Q2. A new disc, the Innova Colt, entered the top 10 at number four as a hot new item. It will be interesting to see if the Colt remains a top selling putter, or if it made the top 10 because it is new. The KC Aviar filled in the #9 spot replacing the Prodigy PA-3.

Top Selling Plastic Type

  1. Innova Star
  2. Innova Champion
  3. Innova DX
  4. MVP Neutron
  5. Latitude 64 Opto
  6. Latitude 64 Gold Line
  7. Discraft Elite Z
  8. Innova GStar
  9. Axiom Neutron
  10. Dynamic Discs Lucid

When it comes to the most popular disc plastics, to no surprise, Innova dominates taking the top three spots. It certainly helps that the Star Destroyer and Star TeeBird are two of our most popular selling discs. Star plastic actually jumped Champion as the top selling disc plastic type for the third quarter. While several of the MVP discs dropped in rankings this quarter, overall Neutron plastic rose a spot from 5 to 4 while Latitude 64 Opto dropped two spots. Innova GStar and Discraft Elite Z swapped spots in the 7th and 8th positions.
