Best Distance Drivers 2025
When you want to get the most distance from your drives, you’re usually reaching for your high-speed drivers. Also called distance driver, this type of disc has the widest rim of all types, and the usually require the most skill to maximize the achievable distance. They are the super-athlete of the disc golf world, since they hold distance records, and are used by pros and amateurs alike. Much like our Best Putters, Best Midranges, and Best Fairway Drivers we will look at the sales data to find the best disc golf distance drivers for 2025, and give you some ideas of discs you might want to try.

Best Disc Golf Distance Drivers 2024
Taking the top spot for sales is the Innova Wraith. 
The Wraith is a speed 11 disc that has a flight similar to some of the other top discs on the list. Taking second is the Infinite Discs Emperor, followed by the most popular driver of all time, the Innova Destroyer.
Top Wraith Plastics
Checking out the top plastic sales for the number one Wraith we find that the most popular Wraith plastic sold is Star plastic. Star plastic outsold second place Gummy Champion by three times! It was responsible for over a third of all Wraith sales last year. The third place most popular plastic is GStar.
Now let’s look at the top sellers for last year.
Top 50 Best Disc Golf Distance Drivers 2025
The MVP Trail isn’t even two years old, but is very popular. 
The speed-10 mold from MVP has a stable flight that is useful for a wide range of skill levels. It dethroned the Innova Wraith, which dropped to fourth place. Taking second to the Trail is the ever-popular Infinite Discs Emperor. Third on the list is the Innova Destroyer.
The top four molds on the list make up a quarter of all distance driver sales. Innova and Infinite are regular names at the top of the list. It was nice to see MVP break into the elite ranks.

Most Brands In The Top 50
There are ten different brands who have a disc in the top 50 best discs. That is down a couple from last year. Let’s take a look at which brands are represented, and how many molds they have on the list.
The top few brands are not a surprise. Innova and Discraft are some of the oldest disc golf brands, and sponsor some top pros. Their size gives them a lot more marketing opportunities. That helps them manage to stay on top despite all of the newer brands that have hit the market the last decade.
Top Rated Drivers
We’ve looked at the sales data for the top distance drivers, and now we’ll look at the top RATED discs. The infinite discs website allows customers to leave feedback and ratings on discs and accessories, and is a good resource for finding highly rated disc products. Let’s look at some of the distance drivers with the highest ratings. For our ‘Highest Rated’ sections, our system sorts by mold and plastic type.
Highest Rated Distance Drivers
Taking the number one spot with the highest consumer rating for distance drivers is Infinite Discs’ popular high-speed driver, the Emperor. The speed 12 driver has a popular flight that features a little turn with a reliable solid fade. It is available in numerous plastic types. It is also the signature disc of some of the top pros. The I-Blend Emperor has a 4.93 rating out of 5. Nearly perfect!
In second place with a rating of 4.86 is the Star Innova Wraith. Taking third is the Discmania Neo Enigma. The Enigma has a customer rating of 4.73.

Highest Rated Overstable Distance Drivers
Since the Emperor is considered an overstable driver and is the highest rated driver, it is obviously going to be the highest rated overstable driver. In this category, the Emperor took first, second, and tied for third, with three different plastics represented. In second place with 4.91 stars out of five is the Signature Swirly S-Blend. In third place at 4.90 stars is the Signature I-Blend. Also at 4.90 is the Halo Star Destroyer.

Highest Rated Understable Disc Golf Driver
Looking at the other end of the stability spectrum we have the highest rated understable drivers. The Innova Tern took the top two spots. The Star Tern is the highest rated at 4.78. Just a little behind the Star is the Champion Tern, with 4.69 stars. Infinite Discs’ I-Blend Maya came in third with its 4.68 rating.
The next two molds on the understable list, the Axiom Insanity and the Lone Star Disc Mockingbird, are tied at an impressive rating of 4.79.

Highest Rated Stable & Straight Flying Drivers
Checking out distance drivers with a more neutral flight, meaning 
little turn and a less aggressive fade, we find the stable Infinite Discs Splatter S-Blend Pharaoh leading the pack for the title of Best Stable Distance Driver with a rating of 4.91. The Pharaoh is a high-speed driver that comes in a variety of plastics.
In second place with a rating of 4.89 is the Streamline Neutron SL Trace. In the last podium spot, we find the MVP Neutron Tesla, rated at 4.4 out of five stars.

I’ve been testing out several over the past couple seasons and have been really pleased with a number of them. Performance is comparable to each other, so can’t really give the victory to a single one as yet.
Favorite very-overstable: Ballista, Ape
Favorite overstable: Destroyer, Corvette, Plague, Pharoah

MVP Wave, currently bagging three one in fission (lightweight), neutron, and proton. Easy disc to get distance and fun flights

OS, don’t really have the power for most OS distance drivers but used to throw Innova Wraiths and enjoyed them.
US, the MVP Wave as for reasons mentioned above

Innova Wraith or Destroyer. They seem to consistently be at the top and for good reason.
Favorite distance driver is the Avenger SS, so its my favorite US as well.
Favorite OS distance driver is the Flick, though I don’t use it for true distance shots.
I bet the Wraith will be the top distance driver again next year.
I’m an older guy and a newer player, so not a big arm. To my surprise the Wraith has been my best driver. I can get a variety of shots by choosing different weights and/or plastics, and inexpensive F2s are easy to find.

2 – What is your favorite over/understable distance driver? – Innova Wraith/Innova Mamba, with honorable mention to Prodigy’s D4 and D6
3 – What do you think will be the best distance driver for next year? Since the Wraith is currently available in glow dx, I think a proto glow dx Wraith would be great! Especially in lighter weights. A proto glow gstar Mamba would be awesome, too!

I did just add an Axiom Tantrum to my bag, which has been really fun.
I have a few more drivers I’ve picked up but haven’t thrown yet because the weather has been bad. The one I’m looking forward to using the most is the Black Zombie Berserker.

Most popular next year: has to be the wraith until something knocks it off lol
My favorite distance driver is the Tern. I have it in halo and domey champion and the complement each other perfectly. The champion one gives a nice flip and depending on the day, it can be straighter than my fairways.
My favorite overstable driver is a star destroyer. It gives me an awesomely straight flight with a super overstable finish. I don’t reach for it much but when I do, I can be super confident in it’s flight.
My favorite understable driver is the Gorgon. Awesome turnovers with that when I need it.
I think the trail could very well be the top driver in 2025. Seems like a ton of people have been loving them and I could easily see that hype running over. However, it will probably just be the wraith again.

1. I don’t throw many distance drivers, but the Beast has been my best friend basically since I started throwing.
2. For an overstable, I’d say the Destroyer, but specifically my lightweight Blizzard Destroyer that floats. Saves me a lot of grief on my local pond hole. Understable, does the Roadrunner count? I think it does :p
3. I can’t predict the future, but I personally have a feeling that the Gorgon will be going up in popularity sometime soon!
I like the Scorch overall. Mamba is my favorite understable and for overstable is the Destroyer. I think this year will something new will take over.

I love the Maya! Around 165g G blend… *chef’s kiss*. I am REALLY hoping a Halo G version comes out! Avenger SS is good too. I just got one in ESP FLX that seems like it’s going to suit me well. I don’t really throw OS drivers. I keep an overstable Composite Era (is that a driver or fairway?) in the bag when I need something to hyzer out more or to stable up into the wind.
Amy favorite distance driver is and always has been the pharoah, massive hyzerflip flights with endless glide and a great stamp make it a hard combo to beat
If I had to pick a favorite overstable driver it’d probably be the finishline daytona. Great for windy days, deceptively glidey and excellent for flex shots.
The distance driver i think will be the best for next year will be the mvp trail. Fantastic glide and the perfect balance of stability will give amature arms the confidence to dream bigger.
Emperor in luster C blend for distance and eventually understable with halo destroyers for overstable. I don’t see anything taking the 1,2, or 3 spots away next year but I think the Robinsons will bump up the rive and the force(im Guessing)
Best? DGA Undertow. Aced the second time I ever threw it. Straight as could be
Best overstable? Star Boss
Best driver in 2025? I think the Emperor is gonna take it. It’s a great disc, and I think people are catching on to it more and more
My favorite driver has been the sherif. I’ve been able to get the most distance out of that one. My overstable pick goes to the wraith. I’m predicting that he the wraith with remain on top for next year. It’s a hard one to beat!
1. Plasma Tesla for FH, Grace for BH
2. I think Trail will be my favorite understable distance driver once I get a few more throws in when the weather warms up. Favorite overstable is probably the Photon
3. I think the Wraith will run away with it again. That’s a really hard driver to beat

Understable – DX Beast 140g. The plastic and the weight make this disc quite understable and dead straight for my noodle arm.
