Professional disc golfer putting

It’s time for out mid-year peak at the top-selling discs so far this year. Over the next few weeks we will be posting data so you can see which discs top the lists. This might give you ideas for new discs to try. We’ll start with putters. Let’s get to the data! We’ll start by looking at the top putters for the full year of 2025

Top 50 Disc Golf Putters for 2025

A chart showing the top putters for 2025

The top 10 putters represent about half of all putters sold in 2025. Leading the pack is the Discraft Zone, the popular throwing putter favored by pros and amateurs alike. Just a tick behind the Zone in sales is the Axiom Pixel. The Pixel was the top disc for 2024.

Blue Paul McBeth 5X signature Zone with black stamp

The last podium spot for last year belongs to the Gateway Wizard. The Wizard is the oldest mold in the top 10, receiving its PDGA approval in 2002. It is a best seller for Gateway.

The Pixel is one of the newer molds, getting PDGA approved late in 2023. It has been a popular mold from the beginning.

Top Putter in 2026

Now we can see which molds players are choosing so far in 2026. Maybe a new mold came out that is fire? Maybe a pro is having a breakout year and people want to try what they throw? Maybe there is an amazing stamp or plastic type that is all the rage? Whatever the reason for buying particular molds, here are the top putters of 2026 so far.

A graph showing the top putters for the first half of 2026

A bulk of the top 10 molds are consistently some of the best sellers. This time, taking their turns at the top, are two of Infinite’s popular putters, the Tomb and the Alpaca. Those two putters alone made up a little over 10% of all putter sales. The next three molds, Pixel, Luna, and the Zone, make up another 10% of sales.

Brands With the Most Molds in the Top 50 For 2025

Let’s check out the brand representation in the top 50. No surprise for the number one spot. Once again, Discraft runs away from the competition with an impressive eight molds. Those molds are the Zone, Luna, Zone SS, Ricky Wysocki Prototype, Kratos, Fierce, Zone OS, and the Roach. The lowest rated of the eight Discraft discs is the Roach, which is in 40th place.

A couple Discraft molds dropped out of the top 50, leaving the former leader tied with MVP with 6 each. Axiom cam in third with 5. Those three brands had a third of all the molds in the top 50.

Highest Rated Disc Golf Putters

One of the biggest perks of shopping on the Infinite Discs website is the ability to browse real player reviews and see how each disc is rated before you buy. As more players share their experiences, those ratings become an incredibly useful snapshot of how the disc golf community feels about specific molds. The rating system also ties into the Infinite Rewards program, which lets you earn points for leaving reviews or making purchases. If you haven’t explored Infinite Rewards yet, it’s worth a look (click HERE). Your feedback not only earns rewards but also helps strengthen our growing library of disc reviews.
With that in mind, we decided to dig into several disc categories to highlight the molds that rise to the top. Let’s kick things off with the highest‑rated disc golf putters of all time.

Highest Rated Putter of All Time

It should come as no surprise that the highest rated putter is also the best seller for the year. The Discraft Zone has an Infinite rating of 4.88 out of five stars. According to the Infinite website, the Zone is “a very overstable putter that is good for headwinds, strategic fades, forehand throws, flick putts, and slamming into chains at just the right angle.” With that versatility, it is no wonder that the Zone sells so well, and is rated so highly.

Here are the top ten highest rated putters:

  1. Discraft Zone
  2. Axiom Envy
  3. Gateway Wizard
  4. Infinite Discs Tomb
  5. Dynamic Discs Judge
  6. Westside Harp
  7. Latitude 64 Pure
  8. Innova Aviar
  9. Discmania P2
  10. Infinite Discs Alpaca

Highest Rated Very Overstable Putters

In the Extra-Beefcake division, the Prodigy A-1 has a perfect record with 5 out of 5 stars. It is just what you need if you want to be able to throw in any headwind. The former champ, the Goliath Pillar, drops to second place with 4.90 stars. The Prodigy Distortion is in third at 4.75.

Highest Rated Overstable Putters

There are numerous molds in this category that have perfect 5.0 ratings. Many of them have a single review. The most reviews with a perfect rating is four, for the Latitude 64 Peak. For putters with more reviews, the Prodigy PA-2 has a rating of 4.94, and both the Axiom Envy and the Doomsday Discs Area 51 are rated at 4.90

Highest Rated Stable Putters

Two Infinite molds sit on top of the sable discs category. The flat-topped Tomb and the beadless Alpaca have been best-sellers from the beginning. The Thought Space Athletics Praxis, as a popular drive and approach putter, comes in third.

Check out the list of Highest Rated Stable Putters HERE

Highest Rated Understable Putters

If we overlook the single-review, five-star rating for the Latitude 64 Beetle, we find the slightly-more-frequently-reviewed Westside Swan in first place. The Prodigy PA-5 would then be in second place, and the EV-7 Mobius takes third place.

Straightest Flying Disc Golf Discs

A disc golf tunnel shot lined with trees

I’ve heard disc golfers say that the most difficult throw in disc golf is to throw a straight flight. Although course designers have a lot of obstacles that force us to shape our shots, they will also include holes where players have to negotiate straight, narrow tunnels. Those are the times that it is nice to have a straight-flying disc.

Why is Throwing Straight so Difficult?

When a disc moves through the air at high speed, the physics of its shape and rotation typically cause it to curve instead of flying in a perfectly straight line. A wider rimmed disc (higher speed discs) are typically even more difficult to throw straight.

In this blog we will define what we consider to be a straight flyer. Then we can look at the most popular straight-flying discs.

A disc golf tunnel shot lined with trees

What Does ‘Straight-Flying’ Mean?

We are going to define a straight-flying disc as one with little or no turn (the drift to the right during the high-speed part of the flight, with a right-handed backhand shot), and little or no fade (drift to the left as it slows down). That should give you a fairly straight flight. You could also achieve a straight flight with a more understable (more turn) disc that you release on a hyzer angle. Then the disc can achieve a flight called ‘flip to flat’. It rotates until it is flying flat (horizontally), and it holds that line until it slows down.

Other discs have a turn and fade that makes the disc end up as if it were thrown straight. Although that flight would not be effective in a narrow tunnel, it still gives is virtually a straight disc.

Infinite Discs Reviews

Our website gives users an opportunity to leave reviews for discs and accessories. Those reviews have valuable information that can help you as you search for a new disc. We also reward reviewers with points that can be redeemed for story credit! More information about our rewards program HERE

One of the categories that people indicate when reviewing a disc is how the disc flies for them. Is it overstable? Understable? Straight? We can then use those indicators to see which discs are the straightest fliers. Below are the results.

Conclusion

Some of the drivers on the list have flight numbers that don’t seem like I would consider them straight-flying discs. Others, like the putters and mids are a lot easier to see, since they have straight flight numbers. My straight putt/approach disc, an R-Pro Dart, didn’t make the list. Neither did my straight driver, a Centurion. How about yours? What are your go-to discs for holding a straight line? Let us know in the comments!

Best Disc Golf Approach Discs

a disc golf basket behind a tree

You can have the best drive you’ve ever thrown, but if you aren’t close enough to putt into the basket, you are going to have to make an approach shot. Make a good approach and you can drop your putter in the baskets. Mess up and you might end up working hard to get in the basket.

Approach shots are important, and which disc you chose to approach can give you the confidence you need to make a good shot. In this blog we will talk about approach discs and explore which ones are rated the highest, and which ones sell the most. That will let you know which discs other people have found success with, and can help shape your decisions.

a professional disc golfer

Wait, what IS an approach disc?

OK, you really could use any disc to try to land near the basket to give yourself a putt. If you have to cover a lot of ground before you get to the basket, you might need to use a higher-speed disc. For shorter, technical shots you’ll likely use a midrange or putter. (Of course, there are exceptions, even for shorter shots.) For this blog, we are going to be talking about putters, since they are categorized as putt/approach discs. That should give us the most accurate results.

In this blog we will look at three things:

  • The best-selling approach putters
  • The highest-rated approach putters
  • Other popular discs that we see on the course

Honorable Mentions

Other popular approach discs:

Kastaplast Berg

Yellow Kastaplast Berg with Black Stamp

There were two players on my card at league this week that bag a Berg. It is the go-to for several members of our club. I see a lot of Bergs at tournaments and other events. It is a low glide, low speed putter that will handle high-power throws. It is a great mold for accurate approach shots.

Prodigy PA-3

A Prodigy PA-3

The PA-3 is a beaded putter that flies super straight. Its straight flight and mellow fade make a great combination for tactical approaches. It comes in a variety of plastics, so you can get the exact feel that you need to give you the confidence to attack the basket.

Axiom Proxy

An Axiom Proxy disc golf disc

A favorite of Simon Lizotte, the Proxy is another straight disc that can handle some torque. It has the same core as the Envy. The Proxy can serve you well as a putting putter, drives off the tee, or accurate approach shots.

Thought Space Athletics Praxis

A thought space athletics praxis disc golf disc

This straight-flying disc can handle forehand and backhand shots with ease. It flies straight with minimal fade. The beadless Praxis can be used by people of all skill levels. Plus, with Thought Space Athletics, you’re sure to get a disc with some of the best stamps in the business!

Best Throwing Putters for 2026

A disc golfer preparing to throw a putter

In disc golf, a disc is sorted into types based on it’s dimensions. A disc with a rim width of .8-1.1mm is considered a putter. However, many molds that fall into that rim size are rarely used for putting. Many of them are considered approach or driving discs. Those are the molds we want to focus on today.

In this blog we will check out sales data and reviews to find the best throwing putters for 2026. Yes, we do see some people putt with these molds. But we see these mostly used off the tee or as approach discs. Let’s find the best!

Discraft Zone

Blue Paul McBeth 5X signature Zone with black stamp

If you look at the top of nearly every ‘best throwing putter’ list, you’ll find the Zone. It has the overstability to handle power shots and headwinds. Used by people of all skill levels, the Zone is a reliable option for pros, and a great workhorse utility disc for lesser-skilled players. Check out the Zone today to see why it has become so popular.

Discraft Luna

Discraft Luna disc golf disc

The Luna is likely tops on the list of throwing putters that are also used for putting. The Luna is the first Paul McBeth putter for Discraft. This beadless putter is great for putting and can also be used as a driver, with the stability needed for the big arm throwers. There is a reason Paul bags the Luna!

Innova Aviar

Innova Aviar disc

Easily the oldest mold on the list, the Aviar is likely the most-copied. It is a classic putter that is older than most people reading this. This beadless and available in most plastic types. It doesn’t have the overstability of other discs, but it is still a good, shapable mold that has stood the test of time.

Infinite Discs Tomb

Red Infinite Discs Tomb with a silver stamp

With a loyal fan following, the Tomb is flat topped, beaded disc that sports a low profile. It has a perfect flight for tight woods and open fairways. It isn’t the best mold for strong headwinds. However, it is great for technical shots, putting, and works well for backhand and for hand shots. Pick one up today and join the Tomb Gang!

MVP Envy

Axiom Eclipse 2.0 Envy

Once James Conrad threw an Envy into the basket at the 2021 World Championship, the Envy became one of the hottest disc on the market. Don’t get me wrong, the Envy has been a hot seller from the beginning. This stable disc can be ripped with tons of power, and fly beautifully. Over time you can get a good flip-to-flat flight that makes precision approach shots a lot easier.

Gateway Wizard

Gateway Wizard disc golf disc

While not quite as old-school as the Aviar, the Wizard has been a Gateway staple for over two decades. It consistently ranks among the best throwing putters and putting putters. You may not reach for the Wizard for extra-long drives. But you will love it for technical shots. The beaded putter can be used in as many situations as it has plastic types. It is a legendary putter that outsells every other Gateway mold by a long shot.

Kastaplast Berg

Yellow Kastaplast Berg with Black Stamp

The Berg’s thumbtrack might be a deal breaker for you. But if you’re comfortable with the feel, you’ll fall in love with its deadly-accurate throws. The Berg has both a speed and glide of one, making it excel at shorter, accurate shots that sit where they land. The secret is out and more players are discovering the reliability of the Berg.

Latitude 64 Pure

Peach colored Latitude 64 Pure with gold stamp

The straight-flying Pure is another mold that is just as comfortable inside circle one as with long approach shots. It is beadless and feels great in the hand. The flight numbers make it great for shaping your lines. It has a touch of turn and a mild fade. The Pure is available in lots of plastics, so you’re sure to find it in your favorite type.

MVP Glitch

Purple MVP Glitch with black stamp and black rim

The Glitch has been around for a few years, and quickly became a popular mold. It has a low speed and an insanely high glide. Not only can you get impressively long flights, you can shape those flights to make the Glitch do what you want. Things can get a little tricky throwing it on a really windy day, due to the Glitch’s light weight. Personally, I only reach for my Glitch if I have a shorter, technical shots that my mid’s just can’t pull off. Under those circumstances, the Glitch shines.

Infinite Discs Alpaca

Infinite Discs Alpaca disc

Another disc that has been popular since its release is the Alpaca. It is popular as a putting putter among Infinite’s pros. Whether you are crushing long drives, tossing technical approach shots, or putting from 10 meters, you can rely on the Alpaca. It flies accurately for a variety of shots. The beadless putter comes in lots of plastics.

So, which one is the best?

If you look at the number of discs sold, the Zone comes out on top. If you look at the nearly perfect rating, once again you’ll find the Zone. Pros love it, ams love it. Power throwers and noodle arms can bag the Zone. With all that said, the winner is the Discraft Zone.

Disc golf is a sport that is incredibly easy to get into. Most courses are free and people can pick up a nice set of discs for pretty cheap. A good starter set gives you a good foundation to learn the game.

Best Disc Golf Discs For Women

Find the Best Discs For Women, Then Comment to Win

A lot of us spend time hunting for the perfect disc golf discs, trying to squeeze out a little more distance or a little more control. But as a guy, I also know that what works well for guys might not be the best fit for many women players. Strength, hand size, and throwing power can all influence which discs will fly the way they’re supposed to. So in the spirit of making disc golf more welcoming and accessible for everyone, I wanted to put together a guide focused specifically on discs that tend to work well for women.

We’ll look at the best drivers, midranges, and putters for women, along with the flight numbers and weights that usually pair well with lower‑power throws. Whether you’re brand new to the sport or already confident on the tee pad, choosing discs that match your power and form can make a huge difference in both distance and consistency.

A female professional disc golfer.

courtesy DGPT

Why talk about different discs?

Men generally have more upper‑body strength, longer arms, and bigger hands. That combination makes it easier to throw higher‑speed discs and handle heavier weights. Women (and younger players and new players) often get better results with discs that are lighter, slower, and more understable. These discs don’t require as much power to fly correctly, which means more distance and more fun.

Let’s Talk About Flight Numbers

Briefly, the four-number flight rating system that disc golf has adopted to describe the flight of a disc is the best way we have to categorize our discs. The four numbers represent (in the order they appear on the disc or a website):

  • Speed – the relative speed you need to be able to throw the disc in order for it to fly correctly.
  • Glide – How long the disc will stay in the air
  • Turn – The amount the disc will drift to the right (RHBH throw) at the fastest parts of its flight
  • Fade – The amount that the disc will drift to the left as it starts to slow down

Which Flight Numbers Should You Consider

Disc flight is shaped by four numbers: speed, glide, turn, and fade. Matching those numbers to your throwing power is the key to getting the flight you expect. Here’s a quick breakdown of what women (and newer players, kids, and anyone with lower power) should look for:

  • Speed (1–14): Stick to speed 9 or below unless you’re an advanced player. Faster discs need more power to fly right.
  • Glide (1–7): More glide = more distance. Look for glide in the 5–7 range.
  • Turn (-5 to 2): More turn helps you get long, easy S‑curves. Aim for -5 to -2.
  • Fade (0 to 5): Keep fade low (0 to 2, so the disc doesn’t hook left too early.

Don’t forget about weight

Lighter discs (150–165g) are easier to get up to speed, which helps them fly the way they’re designed to. This is one of the easiest ways to add distance without changing your form.

Best Disc Golf Sets

Getting a starter set is one of the easiest ways for new disc golfers to jump into the sport with confidence. These sets bundle together a few well‑chosen molds at a great price, giving beginners discs that are actually designed for their skill level. Most starter sets feature lighter weights and beginner-friendlier flights, which means players can get good flights right away instead of fighting discs that are too fast or too overstable. It’s a simple way to skip the guesswork and start learning the game with tools that help you succeed.

Viking’s Ground plastic is designed for excellent grip in all weather, hot, cold, or rainy, thanks to its flexible, slightly tacky feel. Divergent Discs 3-driver set

The Divergent Discs 3‑Disc Booster Set adds three specialty drivers to your lineup, each one offering flight characteristics not found in the Divergent Starter Set or the Max Performance Set. This trio is designed to expand your shot selection, giving you distance options and more ways to shape lines on the course.

The Lawin is a high‑speed distance driver built for power throwers or players who need dependable fade at the end of the flight. Its overstable profile makes it ideal for fighting headwinds, navigating around obstacles, or throwing full‑power drives without worrying about unwanted turn.
Lawin: 12 / 5 / -2 / 2

The Minotaur is an overstable fairway driver that delivers strong, reliable fade at shorter distances. It’s perfect for controlled placement shots, skip lines, and situations where you need a disc that will finish hard every time.
Minotaur: 8 / 3 / 0 / 4

The Tiyanak rounds out the set as a very understable fairway driver designed for players with low arm speed or anyone who struggles to get discs to fly straight. For beginners throwing under 200 feet, it provides effortless turn and long, gentle flights. For experienced players, it doubles as a roller disc, a hyzer‑flip machine, or a touchy anhyzer option. It’s the most beginner‑friendly driver in the entire Divergent lineup.
Tiyanak: 8 / 5 / -4 / 1

Together, these three discs offer a wide range of utility and make an excellent upgrade for players looking to expand their bag with purpose‑built drivers.

Let’s check out the top sellers for 2025:

The MVP Trail and the legendary driver, the Innova Destroyer were fourth and fifth in popularity. Completing the top ten are the Discraft Zone, Axiom Pixel, Innova Mamba, Gateway Wizard, and the Discraft Luna.
