As fall colors start to appear in the trees and the daylight hours shorten, it means a lot less disc golf for most of us. For some it becomes difficult to find time when it’s still light. For others it means rearranging schedules to squeeze in a round here and there. But, it also means the Halloween season is upon us, with numerous brands coming out with themed disc stamps that celebrate the spooky holiday. This year was no exception.

Halloween Disc Golf Stamps 2024

I always look forward to seeing the spooky artwork and the interesting Halloween designs. I’ve been collecting them for years, and I’m always willing to add a couple more cool stamps to the collection. A lot of people love finding throwers that have Halloween stamps and colors. Let’s take a look at the stamps that are being released this spooky season.

Infinite Discs

G-Blend Halo Pharaoh Racing from the depth of Hell, the Pharaoh of the Dead leads an army of demons. And they’re headed your way! The Pharaoh is a bomber disc with tons of glide. Grip and rip a deadly Pharoah with this haunting stamp!

C-Blend Glow Centurion – The only thing worse than a zombie is a zombie with a weapon, body armor, and a bad attitude. The Centurion is a speed 7 fairway driver with enough turn to give the disc a nice s-curve, and a solid fade. The scary stamp is the icing on the zombie cake.

D-Blend Alpaca – This Alpaca is hangry! We’re not sure how it acquired its taste for human flesh, but watch out, it’s right behind you! The Alpaca is a wildly popular putter that feels great in your hand. It has a strait flight that is great for driving or putting. You’ll want to grab a few of these Halloween stamps for your bag.

Innova

R-Pro Pig – This Were-Pig has claws and fangs and a determined look in its eyes! This overstable mid features our custom Halloween stamp. The Pig is an awesome headwind disc can be used for hitting precision upshots, or hitting the basket with a hyzer putt. You’ll want to add this scary stamp to your pig-stamp collection!

Classic Color Glow Nexus Aviar – The Haunted Pumpkin makes it’s way to you for its annual Halloween appearance on an Innova disc. The Aviar is a staple in the disc golf community, and the favorite putter among many of us. With this cool stamp and glow plastic, you’ll be banging chains day or night!

Proto Color Glow Champion Gorgon – What do you get when you cross a pumpkin-ghoul and Medusa? We don’t know, but you should hope that you never run into it on a dark night! The Gorgon is a driver that can easily give you serious turning ability and massive distance. It is a speed 10 disc, so it might be the perfect disc for you if you need a smaller rim than faster drivers. This Halloween Gorgon comes in the amazing Proto Glow plastic, perfect for night rounds.

Proto Glow DX Roc – The mythical Roc was said to carry off animals as large as an elephant. It would have no problem carrying a few disc golfers! The Roc is a classic midrange disc that delivers wind-crushing stability and a solid fade. Many players have a variety of Rocs in their bag for a variety of needs. Discraft

Continuing their tradition of offering creative, colorful Halloween discs featuring a different horror movie theme each year. This year they give a nod to the new Beatlejuice movie. Discraft offers their Halloween Buzzz with three options: SuperColor, single foil, and triple foil. The Buzzz is one of the most popular discs of all time! If you haven’t thrown one yet, a Beatlejuice stamp would be a great one to try! (available Oct. 11)

Prodigy

Check out the Grim Rippit stamp on the understable putt/approach disc, the Prodigy PA-5. The PA-5 is an amazing hyzer-flip disc that will slice through the woods on a straight line. The Grim Rippit stamp on 300 Soft Color Fractal looks amazing and is available in several good-looking colors!

Simon Lizotte – Bridgewater Triangle

Celebrate the mysteries of the world with this new Halloween stamp from MVP. Southeastern Massachusetts, home of Simon Lizotte, reports a variety of paranormal activities in the area. From UFO sightings to poltergeists. There have even been Bigfoot sightings! The haunting stamp that gives a nod to these phenomena adorns the Eclipse Pixel. Enjoy this Mike Incho created stamp on a Fission Pyro. This is the first time the Pyro has been made in Fission plastic. The Pyro is an overstable midrange that has good glide and a solid fade. We wanted to drop a special edition of a class Innova disc that hasn’t had the Halo treatment before, then add our own Infinite Discs touch with an exclusive 3-Foil stamp. We selected the Monarch as our featured disc because it has a flight that most players can handle, and Innova was happy to make it happen. The Monarch also features a very unique groove underneath the rim that makes it stand out. When we got this special Halo run, we found that the the disc is much more stable in this premium blend. It’s a lot of fun to throw!

Unveiling the Mysteries of Khonsu: The Ancient Egyptian God of the Moon

In the pantheon of ancient Egypt, among the myriad of deities that were worshipped, one figure stands out as a beacon of lunar majesty: Khonsu. Revered as the god of the moon, time, and healing, Khonsu held a significant place in the hearts and minds of ancient Egyptians. Translated, Khonsu means “Traveller” and we believe this signinfies the travel of the moon across the night sky.

In this brief write up, we will dive into the mythology surrounding Khonsu, unraveling the mysteries and significance of this enigmatic deity.

The Origins of Khonsu: Khonsu, whose name translates to “traveller” or “pathfinder,” was an integral part of the Theban triad, alongside Amun and Mut. He was believed to be the son of Amun, the king of the gods, and Mut, the primordial mother goddess. Khonsu’s divine parentage endowed him with immense power and significance within the Egyptian pantheon.

Depictions of Khonsu: In art and iconography, Khonsu was typically portrayed as a youthful figure, often depicted with a sidelock of youth and the symbol of the moon adorning his head. He is often depicted with the same falcon-headed god Horus, emphasizing his connection to the lunar cycle and its association with the passage of time. We have emphasized this connection in our stock stamps as you can see in this image comparison below –

Roles and Attributes: As the god of the moon, Khonsu was believed to govern the lunar cycle and its influence on the passage of time. Ancient Egyptians associated the phases of the moon with various aspects of life, including fertility, agriculture, and the cyclical nature of existence. Khonsu’s role as a deity of time also extended to matters of divination and prophecy, as lunar phases were often used as a means of predicting future events.

Furthermore, Khonsu was revered as a healer, particularly in the realm of mental and physical afflictions. Temples dedicated to Khonsu served as centers of healing and rejuvenation, where worshippers sought his divine intervention in times of illness or distress.

Khonsu in Mythology and Ritual: Mythology surrounding Khonsu often depicted him as a benevolent and compassionate deity, ever ready to assist those in need. Tales of his miraculous healings and interventions permeated ancient Egyptian religious texts, cementing his status as a revered and beloved god.

Rituals dedicated to Khonsu often involved offerings of food, drink, and incense, presented at his temples in exchange for his divine favor and protection. Lunar festivals, such as the Festival of Opet, provided opportunities for worshippers to express their devotion to Khonsu through prayer, music, and dance.

Legacy and Influence: Despite the passage of millennia, Khonsu’s legacy endures, with remnants of his worship scattered throughout ancient Egyptian archaeological sites. The enduring fascination with Khonsu serves as a testament to the enduring power of myth and the human quest for meaning in the cosmos.

In the pantheon of ancient Egyptian gods, Khonsu occupies a unique and revered position as the god of the moon, time, and healing. Through his association with the lunar cycle and its influence on human affairs, Khonsu offered ancient Egyptians a source of solace, guidance, and divine protection. Today, the legacy of Khonsu continues to captivate the imagination, reminding us of the enduring allure of ancient myth and the mysteries of the cosmos.

New Discs Golf Discs for 2024

One cool thing that we can look forward to as every year as disc golfers is to see what new molds will be released. Even larger companies with tons of existing molds covering every flight pattern will release a few new ones so they can stay fresh in everyone’s mind. That means a lot of new disc golf discs for 2024.

With the rapid growth that disc golf seen in the past decade or so, in addition to the brands we’ve known for years releasing discs, now we get lots of completely new companies eager to release discs to the growing members of our sport. It is amazing to see so many companies jumping into disc golf.

In this blog we’ll take a look at some of the discs that are new for 2024. These are discs that have been released this year, or are going to be released soon. Then we’ll look at discs that have been PDGA approved in the past few months and highlight some new brands that might be making their mark on our sport.

New Disc Golf Discs For 2024

Axiom Pixel – The second release from the Simon Line, the Pixel is a strait-flying putt/approach disc from Axiom. Available in a few different plastic types.

Elevation Disc Golf Psychic – The brand that has given us a variety of extra-floppy discs recently released their inaugural distance driver, the Psychic. You’ll get all the distance of a driver with the stopping ability of all their molds.

Goliath Ark – In keeping with their biblical theme, Goliath’s newest mold is the Ark. It is a stable fairway driver that is available in their Oasis plastic.

Latitude 64 Brave – This fairway driver has the glide, turn, and fade that combine for some long throws. It will suit players of all skill levels.

Lone Star Disc Spur – The Spur is an overstable fairway driver with enough fade that it can handle forehand or headwind shots.

Lone Disc Bearkat – The flippy mid from Lone Star is available now. Name after the Sam Houston University mascot, the Bearkat has a decent amount of turn and a mild fade.

EV-7 Lid – The Lid is a catching mold that resulted from a collaboration with EV-7 and Hyperflite. It is an expanded version of their popular canine disc.

Discraft Kratos – The new putter from Discraft will be released on March 8. A beaded Luna? It sure sports an overstable flight like the Luna. The Paul McBeth Kratos will have a limited edition release, so make sure you get your order in soon after the drop.

Infinite Discs Khonsu – This beadless midrange from Infinite looks to be a flippy mold. Perfect for those right-hand turning shots.

Axiom Pitch – This may be Axiom’s answer to the Glitch, and if that is the case, it will be a hit. Fans will have to wait for the upcoming solar eclipse until it is released.

Doomsday Discs Apocalypse – The Apocalypse was recently released, to the dismay of noodle arms all over the world. This extra-beefy high-speed driver is nothing but FADE. Good disc if you need to play in hurricane-force winds.

Doomsday Discs Crisis – Pick the type of Crisis you’re having in your life and get an appropriately-stamped

Doomsday Discs Rot – According to Doomsday, the Rot will be their first beaded putter. It will have a flat top and fly fairly straight.

Doomsday Discs Proximity Mine – This is a speed 1 disc with a touch of stability. Maybe some competition for the Berg? I don’t have a release date.

Chumba Discs Sombra – The first release from Chumba Discs is a straight, beadless putter. ‘Sombra’ means ‘shadow is Spanish. It is currently available.

Legacy Discs Sumo – If you’re looking for a very overstable putter, be sure to check out the Sumo. It has a low glide and can fight any headwind. Available in four different plastics.

Ice Age – Only recently approved, this mold will be rolling out soon.

PDGA Approved Molds

Now let’s shift to molds that have been PDGA approved in the past three months. It is interesting to see so many new brands on the list.

On this list you can see some of the long-time manufacturers in the sport: Innova, Discraft, and Gateway Discs. These brands have been around for decades, but are still coming up with new molds. But, you can also see brands getting their first mold(s) approved. Here are some first-timers:

Bernoulli – Undoubtedly named after Daniel Bornelli, a Swiss physisist who developed theories of fluid mechanics that explain the flight of a disc golf disc. They got their first two molds approvede recently, the Einstien, and the self-titled Bernoulli.

Evolvent Discs – This Swedish brand was started by two engineers who want to produce the best disc golf prosucts on the market. Their first mold, the Readiness, was approved in December.

Goeringer Discs – Their first disc, the Cherry Blossum, got approved at the end of last year.

Gorilla Performance Discs – The Texas company not only recently got three molds approved, they have two molds, the Silverback and Chango, in production and available to purchase on their website.

Grassland Discs – Grassland has chosen 3D printing as the method to producing their discs for now. Their first mold is the Chickadee. They are a Canadian brand, based in Saskatchewan.

Meridian Discs – They had two molds that were recently PDGA approved, the Tundra and the Strait.

Negative – Negative is the name of a brand that just got their first disc approved. It is the Ritual. I couldn’t find any information about the company.

Ocean Discs – Ocean Discs appears to be a manufacturer in England. They got their Sea Turtle mold approved in December.

PrintPractical – The Extruder is the first mold produced by PrintPractical. The disc is named after the part of a 3D printer that pushes out the heated filament. They will be 3D printing all of their molds.

RIPR – Another Canadian company, RIPR produces a miniature rubber disc that fits in your pocket and is easy to throw. They also go their first disc golf mold approved, the Flame Skimmer. Two additional molds are currently going through the PDGA approval process: the Leatherback and the Grey Wolf.

Stokely Discs – Scott Stokely is a professional disc golfer and coach. He also has a couple molds available. They recently got PDGA approved and are available on his website.

Visionary Disc Golf – Visionary began by making disc golf practice nets. As of January of this year, they now sell discs. The Amethyst is their first disc.

X-UFO – This brand, whose parent company is does injection-molding, is a Chinese brand that had a slew of molds approved this month. Their line-up includes the Star Bat, Star Demon, Star Bison, Star Bear, and Star Dorado

Keep in mind that this list is just the brands who were getting their first mold(s) approved in the past three months (December 2023-February 2024)! That just goes to show you how much the disc golf landscape has changed in the last few years. The molds from just these companies represent a third of all of the molds approved.

Hopefully we will get to see some of the new brands make it to our shelves. It’s always fun to try discs from new brands. When they do come to market, we’ll be sure to let you know!

Each release showcases a variety of innovative molds, showcasing unique plastic and design varieties of Discraft’s ultra popular disc molds.

These discs are not just about providing players with new gear; they also play a crucial role as fundraisers for the Discraft Ledgestone Open. This tournament is renowned as the biggest event in disc golf, attracting a wide range of players and fans alike. The Ledgestone team, led by Tournament Director Nate Heinold, has focused on creating unique and desirable discs that appeal to both collectors and players. These releases are part of the 2024 Ledgestone Limited Edition disc program, which will see its releases spread over four different waves in the year, with the approximate release times being December 2023, February 2024, April 2024, and June 2024. The preseason release features six innovative molds, showcasing unique plastic and design varieties of Discraft’s ultra popular disc molds.

The Colorshift Z Raptor is particularly notable for its unique feature of changing color in the sun, a feature that adds an additional element to disc fun.

Overall, the 2024 Ledgestone Preseason release is the first of many awesome new disc golf discs for 2024.

This year Innova has released two different Halloween discs, the flaming pumpkin and the Werewolf on the IT. It’s probably just me, but I think they may have missed out on an opportunity with what to do with a Halloween version of the IT.

Discraft loves to release special Halloween edtion of the popular Buzzz. This years edition is on glow plastic and features the Zombie Chainsaw Bee.

Mad cat as a Halloween disc! Great Idea LSD. And yes, it does glow in the dark. If the Mad cat isn’t spooky enough for you then you’ll have to go with Halloween edition Penny putter. We’ll just say that honest Abe has seen better days.

Infinite Discs –

For our Infinite Discs Halloween release we decided to provide an inexpensive way for you to get some Halloween Discs. We pulled out a number of our past edition Halloween stamp plates and stamped away on an assortment of popular molds we had extra X-outs of. If you’re not sure what X-Outs are, this article will explain. The Infinite X-Outs provide a great way for you to get a Halloween disc without spending a fortune.

MVP –

MVP KILLED it with their total Eclipse Simon Lizotte Hex. Not only is the Hex a popular mold, Simon Lizotte the most popular professional disc golfer, but MVP glow plastic is about the best glowing in the business. The “total” eclipse occurs because both the rim and flight path are in glow plastic. A fun fact is that this Saturday there will be a full Lunar Eclipse that crosses the Western US, including Utah. MVP also released a Recycled James Conrad Wolfman Nomad that is also pretty elite.

Discmania – (Coming Soon)

Discmania is not going to be left out of the Halloween fun. Their releases include these spider, gargoyle and batt stamps on some of their popular Discmania Molds. Unfortunately, we don’t have these discs yet, but they will be coming soon!
