Farthest Flying Putters and Top Selling Putters by Brand

What are the top selling putters for each disc golf brand and which one flies the farthest?

This is the question nobody is asking, but a lot of people are curious to find the answer to thanks to lots of extra Covid 19 stay at home time.

In this video, professional disc golfer Drew Gibson helps us answer these all important questions. He also likely sets the world putter distance record for about ten different disc brands.

If you’re concerned that you can’t throw a putter 500 feet, don’t be. Drew is one of the most powerful and farthest throwers in the world. Most disc golfers are happy to throw a driver the distance he gets the Stego to go.

Top Selling Disc Golf Putters by Brand

For this video, Drew used our top selling putter, over the last six months, from each disc golf brand. We carry over 40 different disc brands, but several of those brands are mostly irrelevant or no longer producing discs, so we didn’t bother including putters of disc golf brands unless their best selling at least made our top 75 putters list. The big brands like Innova, Discraft, and Dynamic Discs have dozens of different putters that all sell well. By comparison the top selling putter from Viking is not as popular as the 17th best selling putter from Innova.

Note, the Reptilian Stego thrown in this video is not really considered a putter, but as you can tell, in terms of distance it doesn’t go nearly as far as a putter, so Drew thought it would be good to compare that unique utility disc here.

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – FEBRUARY 18TH 2020

It is time once again for our look back at the last week of sales. This weekly chart is generated from the sales figures at Infinite Discs – the purchases made by our customers are the only contributing factor to the statistics. We break the results down by disc model and plastic type so you can see which plastic types are selling the most. Here we go…

Wow! The chart for this week tells a story about the growth of Discraft lately. 16 of the top 20 spots are taken by Discraft, thanks to the arrival of the first wave of Ledgestone Open discs! The top spot was taken by the limited edition Cryztal FLX Sparkle ZONE, and three other spots were also taken by the ZONE in other plastic types! Only four other discs by non-Discraft brands hit the chart this last week with the long-standing Star DESTROYER and STAR WRAITH still in the mix from Innova and the D-Line P2 which is also a long-standing part of the Top 20, and then the C-Blend Hye8Dye special edition, custom dyed RUIN discs.

Here is an impressive look at the number of times different brands appeared:

WINNER – The #10 spot this week was taken by the D-Line P2 as it got pushed around by the slew of Discraft entries. Daniel picked the D-Line P2 for the #10 spot, so he’s the winner this week!

#20 – Star WRAITH

We’ve got another chart this week that is heavy on the blue lines, which equates to a lot of Discraft sales. The top-seller that last week was the LUNA putter, followed closely by the #2 FIERCE putter (Paige Pierce signature putter). Taking the #3 spot was the newest release from Kastaplast, the LOTS driver. That’s a strong debut from Kastaplast! The Plasma Envy was riding high on the chart again this week because of some really pretty Plasma discs that we got in stock last week. The Dyed S-Blend SPHINX took the #7 spot as those turned out to have some really nice custom dye jobs!

Another debut disc which just released yesterday was the Prodigy FX-2 and the first run in “500 plastic” jumped into the #14 spot after just one day of sales. Let’s take a look at how many times the different brands hit the chart this last week, with Discraft flexing once again:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #9 spot this week was taken by the Star DESTROYER which is a long-time chart dweller, though it tends to move around more than it used to. It used to own a permanent home in the top 3 every week. We had some guesses for Star Destroyer, but Owen dished it out first by 3 minutes. Congrats Owen!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – MAY 14TH 2019

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for May 14th, 2019

#1 – ESP KONG
#2 – Star DESTROYER
#3 – Swirly Star THUNDERBIRD
#4 – Neo INSTINCT
#5 – C-Blend SCEPTER
#6 – D-Line P2
#7 – Elite Z BUZZZ
#8 – 400 H4 V2
#9 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#10 – Fuzion RAIDER

#17 – Metal Flake Glow C-Blend EMPEROR
#18 – Champion Colored Glow FIREBIRD
#19 – DX AVIAR
#20 – S-Line DDX

The KONG by Discraft reclaimed the top spot this week with the Star DESTROYER by Innova climbing back up to a close 2nd after spending a little time in lower positions. The Swirly Star THUNDERBIRD took a strong jump to #3 as the Jeremy Koling signature edition came in stock last week. The Neo INSTINCT by Discmania still holds strong as a new release in the #4 spot with the new SCEPTER by Infinite Discs coming in 5th.

Another new releases that hit the chart is the H4 V2 from Prodigy. The Infinite Discs brand had a generally strong showing with a restock of Swirly S-Blend Pharaoh’s kicking off interest again and the Metal Flake Glow C-Blend Emperors charting with the limited edition stamp as well as in X-Outs for a cheaper way to try the disc.  Here is a chart showing the number of times different brands appeared in the top 20 this week.

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #7 spot this week went to the Elite Z Buzzz, which was a little bit strange considering that the ESP Buzzz has had all of the attention lately. But with a restock of Elite Z Buzzz discs at Infintie Discs, that may have fueled the buys. That somewhat random appearance didn’t get any guesses this week. But there were some excellent, close guesses. Keep trying!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – APRIL 30TH 2019

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. It can be fun to see which discs keep up the pace.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for April 30th, 2019

#1 – ESP KONG
#2 – D-Line P2
#3 – Star DESTROYER
#4 – Star LION
#5 – ESP ZONE
#6 – Fuzion RAIDER
#7 – Neutron ENTROPY
#8 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#9 – S-Line FD
#10 – Champion Colored Glow FIREBIRD
#11 – Star ORC

#15 – Prism Plasma WRATH
#16 – S-Line CD2
#17 – Elite Z BUZZZ
#18 – Star WRAITH
#19 – Star VALKYRIE
#20 – C-Line FD

There was some more shuffling around in the top 20 chart for this week. The KONG reclaimed the #1 spot while the D-Line P2 by Discmania jumped up to 2nd place and the Star Destroyer moved back up to #3. The new Star LION by Innova took the #4 spot and the cool ESP ZONE putt-and-approach disc followed at #5.  The FUZION RAIDER by Dynamic Discs maintained a strong position in the #6 spot.

Here is a chart showing the number of times each brand appeared in this week’s chart:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #5 spot went to the ESP ZONE by Discraft this week. We had a simple and sweet stamp put on some of those and people apparently liked it. It doesn’t look like anybody guessed the ZONE in any type of plastic for #5, so no winner this week. But be sure to guess for next week!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – FEBRUARY 26TH

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. It can be fun to see which discs keep up the pace.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for February 26th, 2019

#1 – Paul McBeth Prototype Putter
#2 – Plasma FIREBALL
#3 – Star DESTROYER
#4 – ESP FORCE
#5 – Signature Swirly S-Line P2
#6 – Signature ESP BUZZZ
#7 – Metal Flake Glow C-Blend PHARAOH
#8 – ESP BUZZZ
#9 – Plasma AXIS
#10 – D-Line P2
#11 – Champion FIRESTORM
#12 – Signature Titanium UNDERTAKER
#13 – Star ROADRUNNER
Champion Color Glow WRAITH
#14 – Signature Elite Z FORCE
#15 – Signature Elite Z ZONE
#16 – Swirly S-Blend PHARAOH
#17 – ESP VULTURE
#18 – DX TEEBIRD
#19 – P-Line P2
#20 – Classic Blend Moonshine JUDGE

You can see by the chart that the Paul McBeth putter (LUNA) took the top spot by a large margin. Considering how much he threw it in the Las Vegas Challenge (see his first round throws here) it is not surprising that the putter had a big spotlight on it.  Other McBeth signature discs, and Discraft in general, ruled the chart last week.

The Axiom Plasma Fireball was a new plastic release that pushed that disc to the number two spot. Fans of the limited edition Axiom and MVP releases tend to break down the doors on the weeks when those are released. You’ll see the MVP Plasma Axis also made the chart for the same reason.

The Infinite Discs Pharaoh moved into two spots on the chart with both the Swirly S-Blend and the popular Metal Flake Glow C-Blend taking the #7 and #16 spots.  The Innova Star Destroyer moved from last week’s #5 spot back up to #3.

Here is a chart of how many times each brand showed up in the Top 20 this week, with Discraft almost taking half the positions:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The first three people to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – It looked like we’d hit a 3rd week without a winner, but one person nailed it, and with a disc that hadn’t hit the previous chart as a new release. Les predicted: “Discmania swirly s line Simon Lizotte Sky God 2 should roll into the #5.” That was right on! Congratulations Les!

#6 – ESP FORCE
#7 –  D-Line P2
#8 – Star ORC

#16 – Super Stupid Soft WIZARD
#17 – Champion FIREBIRD
#18 – Champion MAKO3
#19 – Star SHRYKE
#20 – XT-Mix NOVA

The first thing you may notice on this week’s chart is Axiom Envy claimed the #2 and #6 spots. The Gateway Wizard was a newcomer to the Top 20 at #16. The Force ESP climbed the highest in the Top 20 from #19 to #6. Paul McBeth’s Prototype Putter held the #1 spot for the second week in a row, and his Signature ESP Buzzz disc stayed in the top 5. Innova’s Star Destroyer remained in the top 3, continuing its hold as one of the more popular discs on the market.

Innova dominated the Top 20 again with 10 discs in our Top 20. Discmania and Discraft followed next with three discs each. Gateway and Dynamic entered our Top 20 with one disc apiece.

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The first three people to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – Nobody guessed the Classic Blend Burst JUDGE as the #12 disc this week. Don’t be discouraged, keep your guesses coming for this weeks gift card prediction.

Top Selling Discs–Q2 and Q3 of 2018

We had a very busy summer here at Infinite Discs! How busy? Well, busy enough to not post about the best selling discs of the second quarter. But now the weather is cooling down, and so is the disc golf season. So instead of just posting about Q3, today I will be discussing the top selling discs in each disc classification of Q2, Q3, and both quarters (the last 6 months) combined. The latter I think is especially interesting because those 6 months make up the majority of the disc golf season.

With so much data to get through, this post will be heavy on data and a bit lighter on the analysis.

Top 10 Overall Q2

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Innova Firebird
  3. Innova Aviar
  4. Discmania P2 Psycho
  5. Innova TeeBird
  6. Innova Thunderbird
  7. Innova Wraith
  8. Westside Harp
  9. Innova Shryke
  10. Discraft Buzzz

Top 10 Overall Q3

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Innova Aviar
  3. Innova Sonic
  4. Discmania P2 Psycho
  5. Innova Firebird
  6. Discraft Buzzz
  7. Innova Wraith
  8. Innova TeeBird
  9. Innova Thunderbird
  10. Dynamic Discs Judge

Top 10 Overall Combined

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Innova Aviar
  3. Innova Firebird
  4. Discmania P2 Psycho
  5. Innova TeeBird
  6. Discraft Buzzz
  7. Innova Wraith
  8. Innova Thunderbird
  9. Innova Shryke
  10. Innova Sonic

After being knocked off the top in our last two articles, the Innova Destroyer is back as the best selling disc overall. And the Discmania P2 made a pretty significant drop finishing as the fourth best selling disc in all three charts. Those who haven’t been following the world of professional disc golf and tour series discs are also probably shocked to see the Innova Sonic on this list but Innova and Garret Gurthie have brought it back with some very popular signature editions. Other than that, none of the names on these top charts are new comers.

Top Distance Drivers Q2

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Innova Firebird
  3. Innova Wraith
  4. Innova Shryke
  5. Innova Valkyrie
  6. Infinite Discs Pharaoh
  7. Innova Boss
  8. Innova Tern
  9. Innova Beast
  10. Innova Orc

Top Distance Drivers Q3

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Innova Firebird
  3. Innova Wraith
  4. Innova Shryke
  5. Innova Valkyrie
  6. Infinite Discs Pharaoh
  7. Innova Boss
  8. Innova Beast
  9. Innova Tern
  10. Dynamic Discs Trespass

Top Distance Drivers Combined

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Innova Firebird
  3. Innova Wraith
  4. Innova Shryke
  5. Innova Valkyrie
  6. Infinite Discs Pharaoh
  7. Innova Boss
  8. Innova Beast
  9. Innova Tern
  10. Dynamic Discs Trespass

A couple of notes for the Distance Driver category. The new Infinite Discs Pharaoh has cracked into what has proven to be a pretty consistent group of discs. Obviously being an Infinite Discs exclusive disc, it will be interesting to see if this new high speed distance driver will stay in these top charts as the new release hype begins to wear off. One other noteworthy result is the Innova Orc cracking into the top 10 in Q2. This was a first appearance for the Orc, and it was just outside the top 10 in Q3 (12th).

Top Control/Fairway Drivers Q2

  1. Innova Teebird
  2. Innova Thunderbird
  3. Innova Leopard3
  4. Discmania FD Jackal
  5. Innova Leopard
  6. Infinite Discs Sphinx
  7. Innova Roadrunner
  8. Innova TeeBird3
  9. Latitude 64 River
  10. MVP Volt

Top Control/Fairway Drivers Q3

  1. Innova Teebird
  2. Innova Thunderbird
  3. Innova Leopard3
  4. Discmania FD Jackal/Innova Leopard
  5. NA
  6. Innova TeeBird3
  7. Discmania CD2
  8. Infinite Discs Exodus
  9. Innova Roadrunner
  10. Latitude 64 River

Top Control/Fairway Drivers Combined

  1. Innova Teebird
  2. Innova Thunderbird
  3. Innova Leopard3
  4. Discmania FD Jackal
  5. Innova Leopard
  6. Innova TeeBird3
  7. Innova Roadrunner
  8. Infinite Discs Sphinx
  9. Infinite Discs Exodus
  10. Latitude 64 River

Mostly familiar names in mostly familiar places in the Fairway Drivers. The new Infinite Discs Sphinx joined the charts and just like the Pharaoh, only time will tell if it is here to stay as a top seller. Another new name here is the Discmania CD2 coming in 7th in Q3. The CD2 has been a popular disc in the Discmania world, but this jump into the top chats was likely fueled by the release of the Dana Vicich Roaming Thunder CD2. The Discmania FD made a drop similar to the Discmania P2 in the overall chart by coming in as number 4 after finishing first the previous quarter. It is also interesting to see the exact same top 5 discs in the same order in all 3 charts other than a tie for fourth in Q3.

Top Midrange Discs Q2

  1. Discraft Buzzz
  2. Innova Roc3
  3. Innova Mako3
  4. Innova Roc
  5. Hyzerbomb Mortar
  6. Dynamic Discs EMac Truth
  7. Innova Gator
  8. Innova Rat
  9. Discmania MD3
  10. Infinite Discs Chariot

Top Midrange Discs Q3

  1. Discraft Buzzz
  2. Innova Roc3
  3. Innova Mako3
  4. Innova Roc
  5. Infinite Discs Anubis
  6. Dynamic Discs EMac Truth
  7. Innova Caiman
  8. MVP Deflector
  9. Discraft Comet
  10. Discmania MD3

Top Midrange Discs Combined

  1. Discraft Buzzz
  2. Innova Roc3
  3. Innova Mako3
  4. Innova Roc
  5. Dynamic Discs EMac Truth
  6. Hyzerbomb Mortar
  7. Innova Gator
  8. Discmania MD3
  9. Discraft Comet
  10. MVP Deflector

In the midranges we see several new releases making some waves. The Infinite Discs Anubis, Innova Caiman, and MVP Deflector all made debut appearances in the third quarter. The MVP Deflector even performed well enough in Q2 to make it onto the combined top 10. Also similar to the Fairway Drivers, the top 4 were consistent across all three charts. In a category that is comparatively low-selling, it will be interesting to see if these three new releases will maintain their high sales numbers.

Top Putt and Approach Discs Q2

  1. Innova Aviar
  2. Discmania P2 Psycho
  3. Westside Harp
  4. Dynamic Discs Judge
  5. Dynamic Discs Warden
  6. Gateway Wizard
  7. Innova Nova
  8. Latitude 64 Pure
  9. Dynamic Discs Deputy
  10. Axiom Envy

Top Putt and Approach Discs Q3

  1. Innova Aviar
  2. Innova Sonic
  3. Discmania P2 Psycho
  4. Dynamic Discs Judge
  5. Dynamic Discs Warden
  6. Innova Nova
  7. Westside Harp
  8. Gateway Wizard
  9. Latitude 64 Pure
  10. Axiom Envy

Top Putt and Approach Discs Combined

  1. Innova Aviar
  2. Discmania P2 Psycho
  3. Innova Sonic
  4. Dynamic Discs Judge
  5. Westside Harp
  6. Dynamic Discs Warden
  7. Gateway Wizard
  8. Innova Nova
  9. Latitude 64 Pure
  10. Axiom Envy

Other than the Innova Sonic making a “super-sonic” jump to the top of the charts (too cheesy?), the names on these charts are very familiar. The only really notable change to me is the Westside Harp dropping from number 3 in Q2 all the way down to 7 in Q3. It will be interesting to see if this is the start of a trend or just a seasonal drop.

Well, that does it for this quarterly report! But do you want more? Do you enjoy these best selling posts but hate having to wait 3 months (or 6) to see the next one? Well then I bet you’d be a fan of our new Top Twenty Tuesday posts! We at Infinite Discs are now revealing our best selling discs of each week every Tuesday. So make sure you come back to the Infinite Discs Blog every week to stay in the loop!
