Top Selling Discs–Q2 of 2019

The always hectic summer in the disc golf world is in full swing! We are doing everything we can here at Infinite Discs to stay on top of it all. This post is a little late, but it is time to take a look back at the top selling discs of the second quarter in 2019!

Top 10 Overall

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Discraft Zeus
  3. Discraft Buzzz
  4. Discmania P2 Psycho
  5. Discraft Luna
  6. Innova Wraith
  7. Infinite Discs Pharaoh
  8. Discraft Zone
  9. Dynamic Discs Judge
  10. Innova Firebird

The disc formerly known as Kong, aka the Discraft Zeus, has been flying off the shelves, but it still wasn’t enough to beat out the “original” Paul McBeth distance driver. The Innova Destroyer stayed at number one this quarter, but it will be exciting to see if the stock stamp release of the Zeus will push it up to the top spot. Beyond that, we see most of the same names we saw last quarter with the most movement coming from the Innova Firebird that dropped from 5 to 10.

Top Distance Drivers

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Discraft Zeus
  3. Innova Wraith
  4. Infinite Discs Pharaoh
  5. Innova Firebird
  6. Dynamic Discs Raider
  7. Infinite Discs Emperor
  8. Innova Valkyrie
  9. Innova Shryke
  10. Innova Beast

As always, we see Innova with a strong presence in the distance driver category. They manufacture 8 of the 10. But the other two discs may not be going anywhere soon. The Zeus has proven to be a hit, and the Raider was an instant success for Dynamic Discs. It will be interesting to see if both of these discs can continue to compete with the rest of the Innova made distance drivers that seem to always be at the top of the charts. Oh, and don’t sleep on the newly released Infinite Discs Emperor. I think we will continue to see this disc in the top 10 for a while.

Top Control/Fairway Drivers

  1. Innova Thunderbird
  2. Innova Teebird
  3. Discmania FD Jackal
  4. Innova Leopard
  5. Innova Leopard3
  6. Discmania Instinct
  7. Discraft Undertaker
  8. Innova Roadrunner
  9. Innova Eagle
  10. Innova TeeBird3

Like with the distance drivers, Innova manufactures 8 of these top 10 discs. I think this is the first time we have seen the Innova Thunderbird take the number one spot. It is always near the top, but the new Swirly Star Jeremy Koling Thunderbirds finally bumped it to number one. The newly released Discmania Evolution Instinct came in at 6 with a lot of hype. We will see if it continues to sell well down the road. Beyond that, we have a lot of the same in the fairway drivers.

Top Midrange Discs

  1. Discraft Buzzz
  2. Innova Roc3
  3. Innova Roc
  4. Innova Mako3
  5. Discraft Comet
  6. Discmania MD3
  7. Mint Discs Bobcat
  8. Dynamic Discs EMac Truth
  9. Discraft Buzzz OS
  10. Discraft Buzzz SS

The top half of the midrange chart stayed nearly identical featuring the same top 4 as last quarter, but the bottom half shook up a bit. We haven’t heard a lot about Mint Discs since they released the very successful Alpha a few years ago, but now they add a midrange to the mix with the Bobcat taking our 7 spot. Also we see Discraft continuing to have a positive year on the sales charts with the Buzzz SS making its first appearance on the top 10 for as long as I can remember.

Top Putt and Approach Discs

  1. Discmania P2 Psycho
  2. Discraft Luna
  3. Discraft Zone
  4. Dynamic Discs Judge
  5. Axiom Envy
  6. Innova Aviar
  7. Dynamic Discs Warden
  8. Gateway Wizard
  9. Streamline Pilot
  10. MVP Entropy

This is something I’ve never seen before. All top 8 selling putt and approach discs this quarter are in the exact same position as last quarter. I guess we are pretty consistent with our putt and approach game here at Infinite Discs :). The Streamline Pilot cracked the top 10 this quarter with help from a Special Edition release in Streamline’s Neutron and Cosmic Neutron. The MVP Entropy is a newly released overstable approach disc that fills a great slot in the MVP lineup.

And that does it for our 2019 Q2 top sellers! Do any of these charts surprise you? What discs did better/worse than you would have expected? Tell us in the comments! And see you next quarter!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JULY 16TH 2019

Welcome to another Top 20 Tuesday sales chart. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Top Twenty Tuesday for July 16th, 2019

#1 – ESP ANAX
#2 – ESP ZEUS (formerly the Kong)
#3 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#4 – Metallic Opto Trident
#5 – D-Line P2
#6 – Star DESTROYER
#7 – Neo METHOD
#8 – Prism Proton PYRO
#9 – ESP BUZZZ
#10 – Jawbreaker ROACH
#11 – Fuzion RAIDER
#12 – Swirly S-Blend X-Out PHARAOH
#13 – C-Line FD
#14 – Champion MAKO3
#15 – ESP COMET
#16 – Big Z ROACH
#17 – Splatter S-Blend Centurion
#18 – R-Pro PIG
#19 – Star SONIC
#20 – Star WRAITH

This week was another of those weeks where the top couple of discs just blew everything else away. The new prototype ANAX and the First Run ZEUS took the first two spots with a vengeance. If anybody has any question about whether or not a single player can swing a marketplace, just take a look at the sales of Paul McBeth’s new line and any doubts should be put to rest. The Luna putter in Paul’s line took the 3rd spot as well.

The #4 spot was taken by a disc that we just sneakily added a few to see if anybody would notice– the Metallic Opto Trident. That out-of-production overstable driver has a strong cult following! The P2 continues to be a strong-selling putter, taking the #5 spot. Other new releases like the Method and the Pyro are still handing around, as is the steady-selling Raider by Dynamic Discs.

It is interesting to see the Roach putter by Discraft moving up into the ranks, particularly in the Jawbreaker and Elite Z plastics. That Elite Z Roach is like a perfect substitute for the much-sought-after Big Z Luna.

Here is how the brands stacked up this week with the number of times they showed up in the Top 20:

WINNER – The #5 spot was picked up by the D-Line P2 this week, which is a disc that steadily holds top spots on the top 20 chart week after week. Colin was the only to guess that putter for the #5 spot, so he’s the winner this week!

GIFT CARD PREDICTION FOR NEXT WEEK:  Leave your comment below to guess the #7 spot for next week. Good luck!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JULY 9TH 2019

Welcome to another Top 20 Tuesday sales chart. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Top Twenty Tuesday for July 9th, 2019

#1 – Prism Proton PYRO
#2 – Nexus FIREFLY
#3 – Neo METHOD
#4 – ESP ZEUS (formerly the Kong)
#5 – Star DESTROYER
#6 – Lucid RAIDER
#7 – Star ORC
#8 – Swirly S-Blend X-Out PHARAOH
#9 – R-Pro PIG
#10 – Star SONIC
#11 – DX VALKYRIE
#12 – Star WRAITH
#13 – D-Line P2
#14 – ESP BUZZZ
#15 – DX CONDOR
#16 – DX AVIAR
#17 – Metal Flake Glow C-Blend PHARAOH
#18 – Neo INSTINCT
#19 – Splatter S-Blend EMPEROR
#20 – Opto RIVER

The new Prism PYRO by Axiom took the number one spot, followed by the Nexus FIREFLY which made its debut last week (Nate Sexton’s new signature Putter). The Neo METHOD by Discmania is right up there at #3 with the Neo INSTINCT also hitting the chart at #18.

The Discraft ZEUS (used to be the KONG) is in 4th place as the prototype supply diminishes, and the Star DESTROYER holds strong at #5. The Lucid RAIDER, which has been a hard one to get in the general disc golf market, comes in at #6 in the special edition with the additional ring bottom-stamp. Much of the list seems made up of old favorites and stock editions, which means that the burst of new releases settled quickly.

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #10 spot was snagged by the Star Sonic this week, which is Garrett Gurthie’s signature Innova disc. We had one guess for the Star Sonic, so congratulations to Kester for getting it right!

GIFT CARD PREDICTION FOR NEXT WEEK:  Leave your comment below to guess the #5 spot for next week. Good luck!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JULY 2ND 2019

Welcome to another Top 20 Tuesday sales chart. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Top Twenty Tuesday for July 2nd, 2019

#1 – Big Z LUNA
#2 – Prism Proton PYRO
#3 – ESP ZEUS (formerly the Kong)
#4 – Star DESTROYER
#5 – R-Pro PIG
#6 – Neutron STABILIZER
#7 – Cosmic Neutron STABILIZER
#8 – Cosmic Electron Firm ENVY
#9 – Cosmic Electron Medium ENVY
#10 – Swirly Star WRAITH
#11 – Fission PHOTON
#12 – Tour ESP BUZZZ
#13 – Star WRAITH
#14 – D-Line P2
#15 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#16 – DX AVIAR
#17 – K3 REKO
#18 – Cosmic Electron Soft ENVY
#19 – KC Pro ROC
#20 – Star SONIC

We saw almost a complete change-out of the entire top 20 chart from last week. Very few discs remained on the chart as new releases dominated this last week. The Big Z LUNA completely overshadowed everything else in terms of quantity sold. It was a popular limited edition release that got a lot of attention as Paul McBeth was seen bombing it for long distances in tournament play.

Then the new releases from Axiom, MVP, and Streamline really filled up the chart with the Stabilizer overstable putt-and-approach from Streamline taking two spots in two plastics, the Cosmic Electron Envy taking three spots with firm, medium, and soft, and the Prism Proton PYRO shooting on up to the #2 spot on the chart.

You’ll notice that the name of the Kong changed to the ZEUS and took the #3 spot. The original prototypes are running out now as the official “first run” approaches. The Star DESTROYER held on strong with the #4 spot and the R-Pro PIG is still seeing love with the flying pig stamp and moved to #5 on the cart.

Here is how the brands looked this last week with the number of spots they claimed on the chart:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #20 spot was a hard one to guess. Nobody hit it right with the Star Sonic this week, which probably got a bump from Garrett Gurthie’s weekend win. Congratulations to Garrett, but sorry to the guesses for the week.

GIFT CARD PREDICTION FOR NEXT WEEK:  Leave your comment below to guess the #10 spot for next week. Good luck!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JUNE 25TH 2019

We missed last week’s “Top 20 Tuesday” update because we were on the road at the Ledgestone Open and didn’t get a chance to write the blog, so this week’s report will calculate the sales for the last two weeks.

We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Top Twenty Tuesday for June 25th, 2019

#1 – Star DESTROYER
#2 – R-Pro PIG
#3 – ESP KONG
#4 – D-Line P2
#5 – Neo INSTINCT
#6 – Splatter S-Blend EMPEROR
#7 – Star Glow DESTROYER
#8 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#9 – Star WRAITH
#10 – ESP BUZZZ
#11 – Fuzion RAIDER
#12 – DX AVIAR
#13 – Star ORC
#14 – Plasma PILOT
#15 – Neutron ENTROPY
#16 – Star LEOPARD3
#17 – 400G D3 MAX
#18 – KC Pro AVIAR
#19 – XT Mix NOVA
#20 – Star VALKYRIE

The Star DESTROYER jumped right back up to the #1 spot when calculating in the last two weeks, followed by the R-Pro PIG which gained new life (and wings) with the Infinite Discs special edition flying pig stamp (just restocked that one too). That put the ESP KONG into the #3 spot and we’ve picked up intelligence that the prototype run is over– Discraft is sold out of those.

The Splatter S-Blend Emperor made its debut in the last couple of weeks, so it stands at #6, followed by the Philo Star Glow Destroyer.  Other new releases still holding strong are the Fuzion Raider distance driver, the overstable putt-and-approach disc, the Entropy, and the D3 Max distance driver by Prodigy.

Here is a look at how many times different brands appeared on the chart, with Innova taking exactly half of the spots during this 2-week period:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – Two people guessed that the #12 spot would be taken by the DX Aviar. Since we missed a week, we’ll award both of those guesses, so congratulations Steven and Owen!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JUNE 11TH 2019

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for June 11th, 2019

#1 – Plasma PILOT
#2 – Star DESTROYER
#3 – Glo Swirly ESP UNDERTAKER
#4 – Rubber Blend BUZZZ
#5 – Full Foil Super Color BUZZZ
#6 – Glo Swirly ESP BANGER GT
#7 – ESP KONG
#8 – D-Line P2
#9 – Fuzion RAIDER
#10 – DX ROC
#11 – Swirly ESP CYCLONE
#12 – Retro KEYSTONE
#13 – DX AVIAR
#14 – Star WRAITH
#15 – Signature Glow Metal Flake C-Line MD3
#16 – Jawbreaker ROACH
#17 – Champion MAKO3
#18 – Star ORC
#19 – ESP BUZZZ
#20 – Pure White WIZARD

The hot-seller this last week was the limited run of Plasma PILOT discs from Streamline to support the MVP Open at Maple Hill. The Star DESTROYER got a nice boost from the release of the “Destroy!” stamp here at Infinite Discs. Then the chart was rocked by Discraft with a bunch of tournament support discs for this year’s Ledgestone Open, with some of those special editions selling-out quickly. Even the KONG was pushed down to #7 from all the action on the chart. The Fuzion Raider moved up a few spots to #9, still holding strong as a popular new driver. The KEYSTONE putter as featured in the Trilogy Challenge is still on the chart as well.

Here is a look at how the different brands hit the charts this week:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – We saw an incredible guess from Chris G. this week to get the 11th spot for the special edition Ledgestone Cyclone. Great guess and congratulations Chris!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – JUNE 4TH 2019

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for June 4th, 2019

#1 – ESP KONG
#2 – Swirly Star DESTROYER
#3 – D-Line P2
#4 – Star DESTROYER
#5 – Star ORC
#6 – ESP FLX PREDATOR
#7 – Lucid VANDAL
#8 – S-Line DD3
#9 – Swirly S-Blend PHARAOH
#10 – Signature ESP BUZZZ
#11 – Star WRAITH
#12 – Neutron ENTROPY
#13 – Retro KEYSTONE
#14 – Fuzion RAIDER
#15 – Champion Colored Glow FIREBIRD
#16 – 400 Spectrum PA-1
#17 – Champion MAKO3
#18 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#19 – DX AVIAR
#20 – Star CORVETTE

The new DD3 dropped to the #8 spot from a strong #1 last week, but only because we completely sold out at Infinite Discs. Thus, the Kong reclaimed the #1 spot this week with the Swirly Star Destroyer jumping in at #2 because of the Calvin Heimburg signature release.  The D-Line P2 has held strong for many weeks and many months and continues to be the top-selling putter at Infinite Discs. The Star Destroyer stayed in the mix at #4 with the Star ORC coming in right behind at #5 because of the collectors that keep raiding our inventory for the Pre-Flight Orcs (quite a collector’s item).

The ESP FLX Predator, which was a special run for Infinite Discs, entered strongly into the chart at the #6 spot, followed by the Lucid VANDAL which sold because we had some remaining discs from the local Trilogy Challenge (same with the Retro Keystone).

Here is a look at how many times the different brands entered the chart this week, where Innova again dominated with good sales on several of their popular discs:

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #6 spot this week went to the ESP FLX Predator, which would have been a very difficult (and lucky) guess, since it was a special run of discs that most disc enthusiasts likely had no idea was coming. There were several very good guesses though. It looks like a lot of you readers are putting some very tactical and thoughtful guesses out there every week! Keep it up!

TOP TWENTY TUESDAY – MAY 28th 2019

Infinite Discs is happy to present another Top 20 Tuesday chart, looking back at the discs that sold the most during the last week. We break these charts down by plastics as well so you can see which plastic types are most popular for each disc. New discs will often spike in the chart as other top sellers shuffle position. The chart is created by sales figures that are pulled from all Infinite Discs sales for the previous week — our customers decide the results with their purchases.

Here we go…

Top Twenty Tuesday for May 28th, 2019

#1 – S-Line DD3
#2 – Neutron ENTROPY
#3 – Star DESTROYER
#4 – Discraft Special Blend LUNA
#5 – ESP KONG
#6 – D-Line P2
#7 – Signature Glow Metal Flake MD3
#8 – Electron Firm ENVY

#11 – Swirly S-Blend PHARAOH
#12 – Signature ESP BUZZZ
#13 – Champion Colored Glow FIREBIRD
#14 – Star WRAITH

#16 – Cosmic Neutron LIFT
#17 – Signature Metal Flake Glow EMPEROR
#18 – X-Blend SCARAB
#19 – Metal Flake Glow C-Blend SPHINX
#20 – Pro PIG

The new DD3 by Discmania absolutely blew away the competition this last week, taking the number one spot by storm. The Neutron ENTROPY by MVP made a comeback to the #2 spot with the Star Destroyer coming in at #3, followed by the LUNA and KONG which remain hot sellers. The Fuzion RAIDER also made a comeback into the chart as we got some more listed on the website this week. It continues to be a hot new distance driver as well.

Here is a quick look at how many times the different brands appeared on this week’s chart.

–> Each week we’ll invite you to leave a prediction for a certain chart position on next week’s TOP TWENTY TUESDAY report. The person to predict that chart position correctly in the comments will win a $10 gift card for the Infinite Discs website.

WINNER – The #3 spot this week went to the Star Destroyer. The winner this week is BRIAN who was the very first person to place a guess, and he got it right!
