Find the Best Discs For Women, Then Comment to Win

A lot of us spend time hunting for the perfect disc golf discs, trying to squeeze out a little more distance or a little more control. But as a guy, I also know that what works well for guys might not be the best fit for many women players. Strength, hand size, and throwing power can all influence which discs will fly the way they’re supposed to. So in the spirit of making disc golf more welcoming and accessible for everyone, I wanted to put together a guide focused specifically on discs that tend to work well for women.

We’ll look at the best drivers, midranges, and putters for women, along with the flight numbers and weights that usually pair well with lower‑power throws. Whether you’re brand new to the sport or already confident on the tee pad, choosing discs that match your power and form can make a huge difference in both distance and consistency.

Why talk about different discs?

Men generally have more upper‑body strength, longer arms, and bigger hands. That combination makes it easier to throw higher‑speed discs and handle heavier weights. Women (and younger players and new players) often get better results with discs that are lighter, slower, and more understable. These discs don’t require as much power to fly correctly, which means more distance and more fun.

Let’s Talk About Flight Numbers

Briefly, the four-number flight rating system that disc golf has adopted to describe the flight of a disc is the best way we have to categorize our discs. The four numbers represent (in the order they appear on the disc or a website):

  • Speed – the relative speed you need to be able to throw the disc in order for it to fly correctly.
  • Glide – How long the disc will stay in the air
  • Turn – The amount the disc will drift to the right (RHBH throw) at the fastest parts of its flight
  • Fade – The amount that the disc will drift to the left as it starts to slow down

Which Flight Numbers Should You Consider

Disc flight is shaped by four numbers: speed, glide, turn, and fade. Matching those numbers to your throwing power is the key to getting the flight you expect. Here’s a quick breakdown of what women (and newer players, kids, and anyone with lower power) should look for:

  • Speed (1–14): Stick to speed 9 or below unless you’re an advanced player. Faster discs need more power to fly right.
  • Glide (1–7): More glide = more distance. Look for glide in the 5–7 range.
  • Turn (-5 to 2): More turn helps you get long, easy S‑curves. Aim for -5 to -2.
  • Fade (0 to 5): Keep fade low (0 to 2, so the disc doesn’t hook left too early.

Don’t forget about weight

Lighter discs (150–165g) are easier to get up to speed, which helps them fly the way they’re designed to. This is one of the easiest ways to add distance without changing your form.

It is a straight-flying putter that is shapable off the tee and solid option as a putter. The Pixel is the second disc in the Simon Line, giving the putter a lot of exposure. A putt/approach disc took the top spot for the second time, following the MVP Glitch in 2023.

Let’s check out the top sellers for 2025:

Chart showing the top 50discs for 2025

The top two molds have been around, and popular, for decades. The Innova Wraith and the Discraft Buzzz have been best sellers since the early 2000’s. In third place is the slightly newer Infinite Discs Emperor. The Emperor is known for being a bomber of a driver, with many open-bag Infinite pros choosing it as their high-speed driver of choice.

The MVP Trail and the legendary driver, the Innova Destroyer were fourth and fifth in popularity. Completing the top ten are the Discraft Zone, Axiom Pixel, Innova Mamba, Gateway Wizard, and the Discraft Luna.

The Pixel went from first place in 2024 to 7th for 2025. 2023’s winner, the MVP Glitch, finished 44th place

Innova was the easy winner of the number of molds in the top 50. They have 14 molds, and are six ahead of both Discraft and Infinite. Innova was started in 1983 by Dave Dunipace. Dave received a patent for the first bevel-edge disc, the forerunner to today’s modern discs. Innova has released dozens of molds over the years, giving players lot of options to choose from.

There were 13 brands that had at least one mold in the top 50. Six companies only had one mold.

Last year there were more distance drivers in the top 50 than any other type of disc. This year putt and approach discs take the lead. In the top 10, distance drivers are king. However, expand to the top 50 and putt/approach surpasses any other type.

Best Disc Golf Midrange Discs 2025

banner- top 50 midrange discs

This week we continue with our series about the best discs of of 2025, last week we took a look at the best putters. This week we’ll check out the best disc golf midrange discs for 2025.

In disc golf, midrange discs are versatile discs that are frequently used for shorter, controlled shots where accuracy is important. They have a variety of stabilities for nearly any situation you may find yourself. Although they can be used off the tee, they are commonly used for second or third shots, with the goal of finishing near the basket.

We’ll start by taking a look back to last year and the best midrange discs for the year.

Top 50 Midrange Discs 2024

Chart of the best midrange discs of 2024

Once again, the Buzzz sits on top of the list. The Rollo is the only newer mold in the top 5.

Best Midrange Discs 2025

Now let’s look at the best midranges discs for last year to see any changes to the previous list.

chart best midrange discs 2025

Once again, sitting atop the list is the Discraft Buzzz. The difference between charts is the percentage of all midranges that the Buzzz represents. This year the Buzzz’s share of the market jumped from 8.7% to over 17%. That’s a big increase.

Although the second place Hex is way behind the Buzzz, it is also nearly double the sales percentage of the third place Mako3. The Buzzz and the Hex represent nearly one in every four midrange discs sold.

The MVP Detour and the Axiom Balance round out the top five. Those two discs have had been on the market for less than two years. The Buzzz has been around for decades. Often times there is a lot of hype surrounding new releases. If the hype fades, the disc sales drop. Molds like the Buzzz and Mako3 have been around for awhile and have proven their value to disc golfers.

Top Midrange Brands

Chart top 50 brandsDiscraft leads the chart with the most molds in the top 50, with 9. The Buzzz, Buzzz SS, and the flippy midrange Meteor are the top sellers for Discraft. Innova takes second with 7 molds. Infinite takes the final podium spot with 5 molds in the top 50. There are 18 different brands represented in the top 50.

Highest Rated Midrange Discs

As part of its rewards program, Infinite Discs encourages customers to leave reviews for the discs and accessories they purchase. Along with a review, people can rate the products on a scale from one to five stars. We will now turn to those ratings to see which midrange discs rated the highest.

Highest Rated Midrange - Discraft Buzzz

Last year, the Prodigy M4 tied with the Buzzz for the highest-rated midrange disc. This year, the M4 stays at 4.8, while the Buzzz ‘drops’ to 4.79. The M4 is a slightly understable midrange. RPM’s Piwakawaka was just a bit behind the other two with 4.76 out of five stars

Highest Rated Very Overstable Midrange Discs

These beefy discs have massive amounts of fade, and are not for everyone. If you have enough skill and arm speed, you may be in the market for one of these discs and want to check them out. If you get one of these molds, you are looking for something extra beefy, and they all deliver. That may be why the high ratings.

legacy recluse

The highest-rated very overstable midrange disc is the Legacy Recluse. The Pursuit has a fade rating of four and an average rating of 4.93 out of five. The Prodiscus Troija also has a fade of 4, but with a turn of +1. It is rated just below the Recluse with a rating of 4.91. The third place spot goes to the Yikun Crossbow, whose flight numbers are 4,1.5,.5,4.

Highest Rated Overstable Midrange Discs

infinite discs ra

Looking at the highest rated overstable midrange discs we see the Infinite Discs Ra in first place. The Ra is one of the older molds from Infinite. It has enough stability for big arms, but enough controlability for newer players. The Ra has a user-rating of 4.86. Last year’s highest-rated mold, the RPM Kotuku, tied for second with a rating of 4.83. The Kastaplast Jarn tied with the Kotuku, also getting a 4.83 rating.

Highest Rated Understable Midrange Discs

Prodigy M4 - Highest rated understable mid

If you want a midrange that will give you a little (or a lot) of turn in your its flight, you will want an understable mid. They are also good for beginners because they help with a longer flight while beginners develop their form. They are also great for approaches or drives in a tailwind.

The highest rated understable midrange comes from Prodigy. It is their slightly flippy mid, the M4. The M4 has a rating 4.8. The next highest rated disc is the food-themed mold, the Clash Discs Peach. The Peach’s flight numbers are 4,5,-2,1, and its rating is 4.88. The final podium spot goes to the Dynamic Discs Bounty, rated 4.79 out of five stars.

Highest Rated Stable Midrange Discs

Mako 3 Highest Rated straight flying midrange

Stable midrange discs have little or no turn, and little or no fade. The fly straight or whatever line you put them on. Stable mids are valuable work horses that get used a lot. The highest rated of this type of mid is the Innova Mako3, with a user-rating of 4.74. Next up is the Infinite Discs Anubis. It has an average rating of 4.71. Best Midrange Disc Golf Discs for 2024

Best Disc Golf Midrange Discs of 2024 Banner

If you are in a disc golf scenario where you need more distance than a putter, but not the distance you need with a driver, you are in a perfect situation to use a midrange. The midrange, or ‘mid’, is a great tool for approach shots where minimal ground action is desired. They come in a variety of flight ratings so they can be used for a variety of different shots. Their slower speeds make them good starting discs for beginners.

In this blog, we’ll look at the best midrange discs for 2024. Just like similar blogs about the best putters, best high speed drivers and best fairway drivers, we’ll look at the top 50 based on sales at Infinite Discs. Then we’ll look at the highest rated mid’s.

We’ll start by taking a look back to last year and the best midrange discs for the year.

Top 50 Midrange Discs 2023

Topping the list of the Best Midrange Discs of 2023 is the perennial champion, the Discraft Buzzz. The beadless buzz has been around for decades and is one of the most popular discs of all time. It has a neutral flight and can be thrown on a slight hyzer, which will flip to flat and cruise for a long, straight flight. The Buzzz is the choice of many top pros. It is available in pretty much any plastic made by Discraft. One out of every six midrange discs that Infinite sells is a Buzzz.

Second on the list is a newer mold, the Axiom Hex. The Hex has a flight similar to the Buzzz. Although it is a relatively new mold, its sales are boosted by Simon Lizotte. His popularity contributes to a lot of Hex sales. That’s what happens when you have popular flight numbers on a disc being used and promoted by a popular player.

Rounding out the top three is another ‘older’ mold, the Innova Pig. The overstable Pig experienced a resurgence a few years ago when Ricky Wysocki threw the mold as an Innova team member. The Pig has a different flight than the other two, being very overstable. It makes a great driving/approach disc, particularly in a headwind.

Best Midrange Discs 2024

Now let’s look at the best midranges discs of the first half of 2024 to see any changes to the list.

Sitting atop the list for the first half of 2024 is the Discraft Buzzz, once again. The difference is the percentage of all midranges that the Buzzz represents. This year the Buzzz’s share of the market dropped from 16% last year to 8% so far this year. The Axiom Hex also dropped from last year to this, going from 10% to a little over 4%.

Although there are several top-ten discs for last year that also made the list this year, there are also two new molds in the top ten. The Innova Rollo was just released this year, and made it’s way to number two on the list. A little over 5% of all midrange discs sold this year was a Rollo. The Thought Space Athletics Mana moved up to the number five spot.

Top Buzz Plastics

The Discraft Buzzz in a variety of different plastics

The 20th anniversary of the Buzzz occurred last year, and a special edition of the mold was released. It came in Elite Z plastic, a variation of their popular Z plastic. The disc sold a bunch and the Elite Z was the number one plastic for the Buzzz. It accounted for 18% of all Buzzz’s sold. Discraft’s ESP plastic was second place at 15.4%. Their Signature ESP was third. It is the same plastic as ESP, but supporting a touring pro like Paul McBeth and Paige Pierce.

Top Midrange Brands

Top midrange brands graph showing disc golf brands that feature mids in the top fifty.

Although Innova and Discraft have the most molds in the top 50, this time Discraft takes the top spot with 9 molds. Innova is right behind them in second with 8 molds. MVP and Lone Star tied for third with 4 each. There was a four-way tie for fifth with Axiom, Infinite, Kastaplast and Dynamic Discs each having 3 molds in the top 50.

Not only did the Buzzz sell the most, it is also tied for the highest rated. The Buzzz holds an average rating of 4.8 stars, which ties the Prodigy M4. The M4 is a slightly understable midrange. RPM’s Piwakawaka was just a bit behind the other two with 4.79 out of five stars

Highest Rated Very Overstable Midrange Discs

These beefy discs have massive amounts of fade, and are not for everyone. If you have enough skill and arm speed, you may be in the market for one of these discs and want to check them out. Because these discs are all rated high, I didn’t include them in the overall ratings. Otherwise it would look exactly like this section. If you get one of these molds, you are looking for something extra beefy, and they all deliver. That may be why the high ratings.

Legacy Pursuit, highest rated overstable midrange disc.

The highest-rated very overstable midrange disc is the Legacy Pursuit. The Pursuit has a fade rating of three and an average rating of 4.89 out of five. The Yikun Crossbow has even beefier fade of 4. It is rated just below the Pursuit with a rating of 4.88. Legacy has two molds in the top three, with the third place going to the Legacy Recluse.

Highest Rated Overstable Midrange Discs

RPM Kotuku

Looking at the highest rated overstable midrange discs we see the RPM Kotuku. RPM is a New Zealand brand with a decent number of available molds. Check out their discs with their unique naming structure HERE. The Kotuku has a rating of 4.83.

The Innova Roc takes the second place with a rating of 4.74. Two Trilogy discs tied for the last podium spot. Westside Discs Gatekeeper and the popular Dynamic Discs EMAC Truth both have ratings of 4.70.

The M4 has a rating of 4.80 out of five stars. The next highest rated disc is another mold from New Zealand, the RPM Piwakawaka. Two molds tie for the last spot on the understable mid podium. Dynamic Discs Bounty and the Discraft Meteor both tied with a rating of 4.73.

Best Midrange Discs of 2023

In this blog series we have looked at the top disc golf discs for 2022 according to sales. Then we focused on each the top distance drivers and the top fairway drivers. This time we’ll look at the top 50 midrange discs. We’ll also find the top overstable and understable mid’s.

Midrange discs fill the gap between short shots and putts, and longer distance throws. Their slower speeds make them a good fit for beginners, and valuable tools for skilled players. They don’t skip like faster discs so they make great approach discs. Like the other categories, midrange discs come in different stabilities to help you achieve the flight you need. Let’s look at which molds were the most popular, and which ones you might want to check out for 2023.

The top 50 midrange discs is based on sales at Infinite Discs for last year.

  1. Discraft Buzzz
  2. Innova Mako3
  3. Infinite Discs Anubis
  4. Thought Space Athletics Pathfinder
  5. Innova Pig
  6. Discraft Buzzz SS
  7. Infinite Discs Chariot
  8. Innova Roc3
  9. Innova Roc
  10. Axiom Paradox

Far and away the most popular mid range disc is the Discraft Buzzz. The Buzz has been a hot seller for Discraft from the beginning. It has a straight flight and comfortable beadless grip. Plus, it comes in a variety of plastic types. The Buzzz sold almost three times as many discs as the second place Mako3. The Infinite Discs Anubis was in third place.

Best Selling Midrange Discs by Month

This fun graph helps to visualize the hot selling brand trends. Some months saw more obscure selling discs like the Doomdsday Discs Frag, and the Mint Discs Lobster.

Not only did Discraft own the number one spot, they have the most molds in the top 50. The ‘most molds’ title has been held by Innova in the Top 50, Top Distance Drivers, and Top Fairway Drivers. In the midrange category, Innova had to settle for second place.

Top 50 Mid Ranges Sorted by Brand

Top Midrange Discs by Brand Chart

There were a total of 19 different brands in the top 50. Discraft and Innova are old-school brands, so it’s not a surprise to see them on the top of the list. How many names on the list are new to you? We’ve seen a lot of pros switch sponsor brands this year, so it will be interesting to see how much of an impact those changes make for their brand. Now let’s look at the sales percent.

Top 50 Mid Ranges Sorted by Sales

Market share of midrange disc sales by brand

As expected, the brands with the most molds in the top 50 had the highest percentage of sales. Discraft was boosted with the huge numbers from the Buzzz. Innova had four molds in the top 10, which helped their numbers. Infinite Discs also had top-10 molds to add to their total.

Top Overstable Mid

Top Selling Overstable midrange disc golf discs

Innova takes the podium when it comes to the overstable midrange discs. Their Pig, Roc3, and Roc accounted for about 8% of all midrange sales. There were six different molds in the top 10, although Innova and Discraft still made up half the brands. Let’s take a look at the PDGA approval dates to see if some which newer molds are taking a chunk of the market.

Mold Approval date Rank
Innova Roc Jan-87 3
Discraft Drone Feb-05 6
Innova Pig May-08 1
Discraft Buzzz OS Jul-14 4
Kastaplast Kaxe Z Oct-14 10
Dynamic Discs Justice Mar-15 5
Dynamic Discs EMac Truth Mar-16 9
Innova Roc3 Aug-17 2
Axiom Pyro Feb-19 7
Elevation Disc Golf Interceptor Dec-20 8

Although the Pig has been around for many years, it got a nice boost when Ricky Wysocki started throwing the mold. It has kept up the momentum ever since. The Innova Roc is celebrating its 36th birthday this month. It is by far the oldest overstable mold in the top 10. It was in the bag when Ken Climo dominated the 90’s, and remains a staple of the top Innova pros today.

At the other end of the timeline, the Elevation Interceptor (one of the staples in MY bag!) is just a couple years old, but still managed to land as the 5th most popular overstable mid range. The silicon disc is like Velcro when it hits the ground.

Top Understable Mid Range Discs

Best understable (easy to throw) midrange discs graph by sales percentage

Discraft leads the pack when it comes to understable mid’s. Three out of the top four molds come from Discraft. They also have four out of the top 10 discs. Dino Discs is the only other brand with more than one mold in the top 10. There were six different brands in the top 10. Here are their approval dates:

Mold Approval date Rank
Discraft Comet Oct-95 3
Discraft Meteor Sep-06 4
Discraft Buzzz SS Feb-08 1
Westside Tursas Apr-16 10
Discraft Sol Nov-18 6
Infinite Discs Kon Tiki Apr-21 8
MVP Uplink Jul-21 7
Axiom Paradox Jul-21 2
Dino Discs Brachiosaurus N/A 9
Dino Discs Stegosaurus N/A 5

The two oldest molds, the Discraft Comet and Discraft Meteor, are in the top four. The two most recent approvals, the MVP Uplink and Axiom Paradox, are less than two years old. Although it is apparent that some of the older molds are still selling well, it will be interesting to see how they hold up against the barrage of new molds on the market recently.
Dino Discs‘ don’t have an approval date because they are not PDGA approved. Dino decided that it wasn’t worth the cost, since their target market is beginners, and they are unlikely to compete in sanctioned tournaments.

In the next blog will look at the top putters.

Best Disc Golf Discs for 2023

Best Disc Golf Discs Banner

As a new year and new tournament season dawns, disc golfers will once again be considering which discs we will be throwing, and looking for new discs to try. Here at Infinite Discs, we thought we would check out our sales from 2022 to let you know what the most popular discs are and give you some discs to consider trying this year. We’ll break it down by disc type and find the top five for each category. Let’s check out the top discs!

Before looking at the individual disc types, let’s look at a graph of all discs sold by Infinite last year, sorted by category. The category that won by a small margin is Putt & Approach, which is just under a third of all sales. Second place was more of a battle. Distance Drivers barely beat Control Drivers by a fraction of a percent. Midranges brought up the rear.

  2. Distance Drivers
  3. Control Drivers
  4. Midrange Discs

Best Distance Drivers

The top three drivers were all pretty close in sales, with each of the three representing about 6% of all Distance Driver sales. They are also very similar in flight, having a little turn and good fade. The Infinite Disc’s Emperor just edged out the Innova Wraith for the top spot, both selling within a hundred discs of each other. Innova’s hot selling disc, the Destroyer, was the third most popular disc for 2022. In fourth Infinite Discs Emperor - 2022 Best Driverplace was another popular Infinite mold, the Pharaoh. It accounted for about 5% of all Distance Driver molds. Wrapping up the top five is the Aztec, Infinite’s speed 10 driver.

It will probably not come as a surprise the most popular plastic for the first-place Emperor is the Halo S-Blend. That good-looking plastic is a hit for any mold. About 22% of all Emperors sold in 2022 was in the Halo S-Blend. The next closest was the Metal Flake Glow C-Blend, with 16% of all Emperors sold in that plastic.

Best Control Drivers

Stepping down in speed a little bit we find Control or Fairway Drivers. The best Control Drivers for 2022 were also quite close in sales. The Infinite Discs Dynasty was the best-seller for the year, just beating the Finish Line Era by half a percent of all Control Drivers sold. There was a neck-and-neck race for third place with two Infinite molds. The Centurion ended up beating the Sphinx by a fraction of a percent. Rounding out the top five is the ever-popular Innova Firebird, not too far behind the Sphinx.

The best-selling plastic for the top Control Driver, the Dynasty, is the Signature Swirly S-Blend. The Eric Oakley Dynasty is a beautiful stamp, and the Swirly S-blend adds even more to its appeal. A little over a third of all Dynasty’s cam in the Signature Swirly S-Blend. The second most popular plastic is the I-Blend. Infinite’s I-Blend has the perfect balance of amazing feel at an inexpensive price. It’s one of my favorites.

Best Midrange Discs

For the Mid’s, there isn’t much of a surprise in discovering the mold that sold the most in 2022. It feels like it has been the category leader forever. Selling more than double the second place mold is the amazing Discraft Buzzz. The Buzz made up 12 percent of all Mid’s sold last year. Taking second at around 5% is the Innova Mako3. Just a smidge behind the Mako3 is my favorite, the Infinite Anubis. Another smidge back and you have the Thought Space Athletics Pathfinder. Bringing up the rear, a tick behind the Pathfinder is the Innova Pig. The interesting thing about the Pig, is that for many this disc is classified as a putter or at least an approach disc.

A little over one in four Buzz fans preferred the mold in ESP plastic. ESP was the most popular Buzzz plastic in 2022, beating Z-Line by about 4%.

Best Putt and Approach Discs

On to the final, and largest category, Putt/Approach. Technically, that is two categories. Most of us have our putting putters, and separate discs for throwing. Many molds do both quite well, like the number one seller for 2022, the Infinite Alpaca. Just a couple years old, the Alpaca has quickly become a favorite of many disc golfers. The Alpaca was the best seller in the Putt/Approach category AND the number one selling mold in all categories in 2022.

Next up, also with some respectable sales numbers, is the Infinite Tomb. It trailed the Alpaca by a couple percentage points. Nearly matching the Tomb in sales is the Discraft Zone. Coming in as the third hottest Putt/Approach disc, the Zone is a perennial favorite among disc golfers. The Axiom Envy moved up a little from last year, cinching the number four spot. Last on the top five best-selling Putt/ Approach discs is the Kastaplast Berg.

The top plastic preference for the top Putt/Approach disc is the Signature P-Blend Glow. Nearly one in four Alpaca buyers chose that plastic. A little over 15% of the Alpacas sold were in D-Blend.

And finally, let’s check out the top five discs in each category, and sort by the number of molds each manufacture has in the top five. It turns out that Infinite dominates the field, even beating out Innova as having more molds in the top 5. It’s also interesting to see some of the smaller brands make the list. The Best Midrange For 2022

Fan Vote Sales Rank Rating Overall
Discraft Buzzz 1 1 5 2.3
Infinite Discs Chariot 2 3 3 2.7
Axiom Hex 3 8 1 4.0
Innova Mako3 6 2 9 5.7
Infinite Discs Anubis 12 4 8 8.0
Innova Roc3 4 6 14 8.0

Taking first place in two of the three categories used to select the best midrange is the popular Discraft Buzzz! This perennial winner continues to dominate the category, and it is easy so see why. The Buzzz feels comfortable in your hand and has a nice, straight flight that can be utilized by beginners and experts alike. If you don’t have one in your bag, click the link in the chart above to see what the Buzzz is about!

Infinite Discs and Innova both had two molds represented in the top 6, with the Chariot within striking distance of Buzzz. Axiom also made waves with their new mold, the Hex. Not even a year old, the Hex took the top rated spot and with another year of sales might just make a bid for number one. Click the links above to check out the other molds on the list.

Best Disc Golf Midrange Discs

Like putters, midrange discs are known for their versatility and utility. They come in a variety of stabilities, rim sizes and shapes. They can easily be used as drivers off the tee pad, and just as readily be used to approach a basket. The ease of shaping their flight combined with their softer landing compared to a higher speed disc increases the number of shots that you might feel the need to pull out a midrange. Which midrange are we reaching for the most often?

Let’s take a look at its popularity for the past year. New molds always take a small chunk of the market share as people try some of the new molds being released. Even so, there is no other disc near the level of the Buzzz. Here are the numbers for the past year:

Top Five All-Time Sales

Not only are the Buzz sales for last year nearly double the numbers of the second most popular disc, the Mako3, the gap between first and second place for sales since Infinite began is even more pronounced. Here are the top-selling midrange molds since 2012, when Infinite began:

The Buzzz Family

As you can see, the Buzzz just dominates the competition. It has a straight flight that is easily shaped, and the Buzzz feels amazing in the hand. It comes in a variety of plastics, too, so you can choose the one with the feel and stability that is right for you. One thing to point out with those high number for the Buzzz is that the percentage does NOT include the Buzzz’s siblings, the Buzzz OS, Buzzz SS, and the Buzzz GT. If you add those molds to the numbers, the Buzzz family sales would be over 17% of all midrange discs sold at Infinite last year!

Top Rated Midrange Discs

Another factor we use in determining the best midrange disc is the customer rating found on our website in the review section of a disc. That tells us what you think about a disc once you buy and throw it. Newer molds don’t have a lot of reviews, so we only took molds that had at least 15 reviews. Here are the top rated molds:

Best Midrange Discs For Beginners

While the midrange disc is an amazing utility disc that can be shaped, floated, used for hard right or left corner shots, or accurate shorter shots, certain molds can still be bricks in the hands of newer players. Without the skill to throw overstable midrange discs, beginners will find little use for many of the discs in the previous lists. With that in mind, let’s looks at some of the discs that are manageable for those in the Recreation or Novice divisions.

Newby versus OG

As we see more new companies and molds enter the market, we will see them chipping away at market previously held by molds we have been playing with for years. Sometimes those molds will succeed in the short term due to some great marketing. Even molds that have been around longer than some of us have been playing can receive a boost when a top-tier pro starts throwing that mold. Ultimately, the hype will fade and the cream will rise to the top, and we will see the most popular molds more often in the future. Let’s take a look at some of the previous years’ top molds to see which names are still making the list.
