Throughout this series, we’ve been breaking down the top disc golf discs for 2026. We started with putters, moved into midranges, and then stepped up to the faster discs with fairway and distance drivers. Now, it’s time for the big finale: bringing all the winners together to see which mold truly stands above the rest.

The Axiom Pixel was the hot seller for 2024. The Pixel was released in 2023 and the first full year of sales was 2024. It is a straight-flying putter that is shapable off the tee and solid option as a putter. The Pixel is the second disc in the Simon Line, giving the putter a lot of exposure. A putt/approach disc took the top spot for the second time, following the MVP Glitch in 2023.

Let’s check out the top sellers for 2025:

The top two molds have been around, and popular, for decades. The Innova Wraith and the Discraft Buzzz have been best sellers since the early 2000’s. In third place is the slightly newer Infinite Discs Emperor. The Emperor is known for being a bomber of a driver, with many open-bag Infinite pros choosing it as their high-speed driver of choice.

The MVP Trail and the legendary driver, the Innova Destroyer were fourth and fifth in popularity. Completing the top ten are the Discraft Zone, Axiom Pixel, Innova Mamba, Gateway Wizard, and the Discraft Luna.

The Pixel went from first place in 2024 to 7th for 2025. 2023’s winner, the MVP Glitch, finished 44th place

Brands in the Top 50

Innova was the easy winner of the number of molds in the top 50. They have 14 molds, and are six ahead of both Discraft and Infinite. Innova was started in 1983 by Dave Dunipace. Dave received a patent for the first bevel-edge disc, the forerunner to today’s modern discs. Innova has released dozens of molds over the years, giving players lot of options to choose from.

There were 13 brands that had at least one mold in the top 50. Six companies only had one mold.

Most Popular Disc Types

Last year there were more distance drivers in the top 50 than any other type of disc. This year putt and approach discs take the lead. In the top 10, distance drivers are king. However, expand to the top 50 and putt/approach surpasses any other type.

Highest Rated Disc Golf Discs

Every year we like to look at the best sellers and the highest rated disc golf molds to see what it hot. We present this information in a series of blogs. This week we’re doing it again. We’ve covered the top putters, midrange discs, and fairway drivers. Now we’ll discuss the best distance drivers for 2026.

Best Distance Drivers

Distance drivers are a fun type of disc to throw. Typically, when we reach for our distance drivers we are trying to throw it as far as possible. Since they are in the air longer than other types of discs, we get to see them turn and fade in an aerial ballet.

Although a certain skill is required to throw high-speed discs properly, newer players can ‘cheat’ the system by picking up lighter discs that let them throw faster. That lets them throw higher speed discs than they normally would be able to throw.

Distance drivers are usually in the speed 10 and above range. They range in stability from flippy to beefy. If disc golfers can get a long throw with their drivers, it will set them up for an easier approach or even a putt.

Best Distance Drivers 2024

Before we look at the best distance drivers for last year, lets check out the best discs from the year before. Then we can see what has changed.

Innova’s Wraith and the Destroyer have been popular discs for decades. They have similar flights at different speeds. The Infinite Discs Emperor matches their flights and has been popular since it was released over half a decade ago. The Infinite Discs Pharaoh and Innova Mamba round out the top five best distance drivers for 2024. Now lets look at 2025.

The MVP Trail made a jump from 8th to 3rd place. I suspect it will have a place in the top ten for years. With a slight turn and a gentle fade the speed ten mold can be thrown well by people of all skill levels. Another MVP disc, the Wave, also moved up a bit. It went from 13th to 7th. The Wave has more turn (-2) than most of the molds in the top 10. Only the Innova Mamba (-5) and the Maya (-3) have more turn.

Besides the aforementioned Trail and Wave, the rest of the top 10 remain the same molds, only in different order. It’s a pretty tall order to break in to the top 10. In order to do that a mold would have to unseat some very popular discs.

How popular are the top molds? The sales of the top five discs on the list represent nearly 1 in every three distance drivers sold!

The Destroyer slipped off the podium for the first time in a while. I don’t think it will continue to slip. It has such a desirable flight and is available in a nearly every plastic type. Who knows, maybe if there are enough new molds that hit the disc golf scene, they can brute force the Destroyer off the charts. But, I doubt it.

Brands With the Most Molds in the Top 50

It isn’t a surprise to see Innova and Discraft with the most molds in the top 50. They are two of the oldest companies in disc golf and have more distance drivers than some brands have total molds.

Innova and Discraft may be the biggest in the business, but there are always a few smaller brands that manage to land in the top 50. This year Thought Space Athletics, Clash, and Doomsday Discs had at least one mold on the list. As more new brands roll out their offerings there might be more competition for those spots on the top 50. However, it is tough to unseat the big companies in the sport.

We are going to look at some of the highest rated distance drivers and see which molds are on top. For our ratings system, we weight molds that have more reviews heavier than those with fewer reviews. We’re going to tweak our weighing system soon. With that in minds, let’s start with the highest rated distance drivers.

Highest Rated Distance Drivers

The Destroyer is a perennial best seller, and it seems logical that it would be among the highest rated. And you can’t discuss the Destroyer without mentioning its little brother, the Wraith, which took second place. Taking third is the Infinite Discs Pharaoh finished as the third highest-rated distance driver overall.

Highest Rated Very Overstable Distance Drivers

For this category, you won’t find many molds in the top 50. These are utility discs that have a definite place in many people’s bags, but aren’t going to be sought after by the masses. They are high-speed AND beefy. They are not beginner discs, but it is still interesting to see who is on top in the category.

Taking first place is the speed 11 Infinite Discs Slab. The Slab has a flat top and is perfect for people with big arms. Experience players can utilize the overstability with forehands, headwind shots, or spike hyzers. As a utility disc, it can be used for carving tight corners to avoid obstacles. Check it out and see why people love the Slab.

Taking second place is the Discraft Force. Loved by pros and ams alike, the Force is a speed 12 beefcake that is available in premium and base plastics. Taking third place is one of the beefiest molds in the Dynamic Discs lineup, the Enforcer.

Highest Rated Overstable Distance Drivers

The Innova Destroyer is a perennial best seller and is also the highest rated distance driver. And how can we mention the Destroyer without mentioning its little brother, the Wraith. Since the Wraith has a similar flight to the Destroyer, but a tad slower, it is easy to see why people like it. Taking third is the Infinite Discs Emperor. It is one of the best selling drivers in the Infinite line.

Highest Rated Stable Distance Drivers

I glad to see the Infinite Discs Pharaoh taking first place, since some of my longest throws have been with a lighter Pharaoh. It has a good amount of turn to give it a nice S-curve, and a reliable fade. It is a bomber mold!

The second highest rated disc is the Beast. It has a similar flight to the Pharaoh and is a little slower speed. It has been part of Innova since 2002. Taking third place is the glidey Shryke. It is a speed 13 disc that can deliver some long drives.

Highest Rated Understable Distance Drivers

This category favors intermediate-level players. Since distance drivers have higher speed levels than other categories, many molds are beyond the ability of less experienced players. Discs that are understable help them get a straight flight. These are the highest rated of the understable drivers.

The Innova Tern has been a popular mold for a long time. As mentioned, newer players can appreciate the flippy flight numbers, while more experienced players can use the Tern for huge flex shots. Plus, it has a lot of glide to aid in long shots.

The second highest rated Infinite Discs Maya hasn’t been around as long as the Tern, but it has a huge fan base. The speed 12 mold is a tad more understable than the Tern, but not nearly as flippy as the third place Innova Mamba.

Many people reach for the Mamba as an easy roller disc. It is so understable that even newer players can find a little turn in their throw.

When you want to get the most distance from your drives, you’re usually reaching for your high-speed drivers. Also called distance driver, this type of disc has the widest rim of all types, and the usually require the most skill to maximize the achievable distance. They are the super-athlete of the disc golf world, since they hold distance records, and are used by pros and amateurs alike. Much like our Best Putters, Best Midranges, and Best Fairway Drivers we will look at the sales data to find the best disc golf distance drivers for 2025, and give you some ideas of discs you might want to try.

Like always, we’ll start by showing the Best Distance Drivers for 2024

Best Disc Golf Distance Drivers 2024

Taking the top spot for sales is the Innova Wraith. The Wraith is a speed 11 disc that has a flight similar to some of the other top discs on the list. Taking second is the Infinite Discs Emperor, followed by the most popular driver of all time, the Innova Destroyer.

Top Wraith Plastics

Checking out the top plastic sales for the number one Wraith we find that the most popular Wraith plastic sold is Star plastic. Star plastic outsold second place Gummy Champion by three times! It was responsible for over a third of all Wraith sales last year. The third place most popular plastic is GStar.

Now let’s look at the top sellers for last year.

Top 50 Best Disc Golf Distance Drivers 2025

The MVP Trail isn’t even two years old, but is very popular. The speed-10 mold from MVP has a stable flight that is useful for a wide range of skill levels. It dethroned the Innova Wraith, which dropped to fourth place. Taking second to the Trail is the ever-popular Infinite Discs Emperor. Third on the list is the Innova Destroyer.

The top four molds on the list make up a quarter of all distance driver sales. Innova and Infinite are regular names at the top of the list. It was nice to see MVP break into the elite ranks.

Most Brands In The Top 50

There are ten different brands who have a disc in the top 50 best discs. That is down a couple from last year. Let’s take a look at which brands are represented, and how many molds they have on the list.

The top few brands are not a surprise. Innova and Discraft are some of the oldest disc golf brands, and sponsor some top pros. Their size gives them a lot more marketing opportunities. That helps them manage to stay on top despite all of the newer brands that have hit the market the last decade.

Top Rated Drivers

We’ve looked at the sales data for the top distance drivers, and now we’ll look at the top RATED discs. The infinite discs website allows customers to leave feedback and ratings on discs and accessories, and is a good resource for finding highly rated disc products. Let’s look at some of the distance drivers with the highest ratings. For our ‘Highest Rated’ sections, our system sorts by mold and plastic type.

Highest Rated Distance Drivers

Taking the number one spot with the highest consumer rating for distance drivers is Infinite Discs’ popular high-speed driver, the Emperor. The speed 12 driver has a popular flight that features a little turn with a reliable solid fade. It is available in numerous plastic types. It is also the signature disc of some of the top pros. The I-Blend Emperor has a 4.93 rating out of 5. Nearly perfect!

In second place with a rating of 4.86 is the Star Innova Wraith. Taking third is the Discmania Neo Enigma. The Enigma has a customer rating of 4.73.

Highest Rated Overstable Distance Drivers

Since the Emperor is considered an overstable driver and is the highest rated driver, it is obviously going to be the highest rated overstable driver. In this category, the Emperor took first, second, and tied for third, with three different plastics represented. In second place with 4.91 stars out of five is the Signature Swirly S-Blend. In third place at 4.90 stars is the Signature I-Blend. Also at 4.90 is the Halo Star Destroyer.

Highest Rated Understable Disc Golf Driver

Looking at the other end of the stability spectrum we have the highest rated understable drivers. The Innova Tern took the top two spots. The Star Tern is the highest rated at 4.78. Just a little behind the Star is the Champion Tern, with 4.69 stars. Infinite Discs’ I-Blend Maya came in third with its 4.68 rating.

The next two molds on the understable list, the Axiom Insanity and the Lone Star Disc Mockingbird, are tied at an impressive rating of 4.79.

Highest Rated Stable & Straight Flying Drivers

Checking out distance drivers with a more neutral flight, meaning little turn and a less aggressive fade, we find the stable Infinite Discs Splatter S-Blend Pharaoh leading the pack for the title of Best Stable Distance Driver with a rating of 4.91. The Pharaoh is a high-speed driver that comes in a variety of plastics.

In second place with a rating of 4.89 is the Streamline Neutron SL Trace. In the last podium spot, we find the MVP Neutron Tesla, rated at 4.4 out of five stars.

Top 50 Best Disc Golf Distance Drivers for 2023

The very top distance drivers for sales were similar to last year’s list. A couple molds changed position though. Taking the top spot for sales is the Innova Wraith. The Wraith is a speed 11 disc from Innova that has a flight similar to the other top discs on the list. Taking second is the Infinite Discs Emperor, followed by the most popular driver of all time, the Innova Destroyer.

Top 50 Best Disc Golf Distance Drivers for 2024

The top six discs on our list for 2024 are the exact same as last year. Those six account for nearly one-third of all discs sold. The Axiom Time-Lapse moved up the list, since it only had a few months of sales for last year. However, it still didn’t dethrone the top 6. Infinite and Innova hold all of those top six molds.

Shout out to the Innova Gorgon for placing in the top 15. It is a new disc that has only been out a couple months.

Most Brands In The Top 50 In 2023

There are twelve different brands who have a disc in the top 50 best discs. Let’s take a look at which brands are represented, and how many molds they have on the list.

Disc Golf brands with best selling drivers. Innova tops the list with 11 other disc golf companies having at least one disc that made the top 50.

Now let’s look at the brands with the most molds for 2024:

There are no changes in the order of the top 5, but the number of molds in that group did have some changes. Innova and Discraft almost had half of the molds in the top 50. Dropping off the list is Lone Star Disc, and Doomsday Discs takes its spot.

Infinite Discs Emperor - Highest Rated Distance Driver for 2024

Two discs tied for the second place spot, both with an average rating of 4.78 out of five, are the Streamline Trace and the Infinite Discs Aztec. Both the Trace and the Aztec have similar flight ratings, the Trace being a speed 11 and the Aztec a speed 10.

Highest Rated Overstable Distance Drivers

Discmania Power Driver - Higest Rated Overstable Driver of 2023

Since the Emperor is considered an overstable driver and is the highest rated driver, it is obviously going to be the highest rated overstable driver. Since we talked about the Emperor above, let’s explore the next-best rated disc. In second place with 4.71 stars out of five is Discmania’s PD. The popular PD is a great disc for headwinds, or when you need a strong fade at the end of its flight. It is also the signature disc of several pros. The third highest rated overstable distance driver is the Innova Wraith, rated at 4.68 out of five.

Highest Rated Understable Disc Golf Driver

Infinite Discs Maya - Best Understable Driver of 2024

Looking at the other end of the stability spectrum we have the highest rated understable drivers. Topping the list are discs from Infinite, Innova, and Discraft. The currently highest-rated disc is the Infinite Discs Maya. Currently with a 4.68 rating, the Maya is a great high-speed disc golf maximum distance. With its understability the Maya is capable of giant turnover shots for some crushing drives. Or it can pick up some long distances on the ground as a roller.

The Innova Tern is the second-highest rated mold in this category with a rating of 4.63. The Tern has been a popular disc since it was released a decade ago. Like the Maya, it gives disc golfers a flight that can carve a lot of distance out of a long hole. It is available in most Innova plastics. Taking third place in the category is the Discraft Thrasher, with 4.57 out of five stars.

Highest Rated Stable & Straight Flying Drivers

Best Stable flying drivers of 2024 Infinite Dsics Aztec and Streamline Trace

Checking out distance drivers with a more neutral flight, meaning little turn and a less aggressive fade, we find the stable Aztec and Trace in a tie for the title of Best Stable Distance Driver. As mentioned above, the Aztec and the Trace have different speed ratings, but the same general flight. They both have a slight turn in flight, followed by a consistent, but not hard fade.

Having a nearly identical overall Infinite rating as the Aztec and Trace is the Discmania Enigma. Also nearly identical in flight numbers to the Aztec and Trace, the Enigma is slightly faster than Trace. The three discs that are the highest rated represent a similar flight at three different speed ratings. They would be excellent for a variety of skill levels.

Best Disc Golf Distance Drivers for 2023

In a recent blog we took a look at the top disc golf discs in each category (Distance Drivers, Control Drivers, Mid Ranges, and Putt and Approach). In this blog we wanted to focus on the Distance Drivers and take a deeper dive into the most popular molds in that category. We’ll look at the top 50 molds, some of the manufacturers on the list, and the best over- and understable drivers.

The top 50 list is based on the sales at Infinite Discs for 2022. They show which discs are in the most demand for the year. Here is the list of the top 50, and what percentage they sold of all distance drivers.

Top distance drivers by 2022 sales

Top of The Class

Nearly one out of every four distance drivers sold in 2022 were either an Emperor, Wraith, Destroyer, or Pharaoh. That’s a pretty impressive domination of the market! After the top four, the numbers drop off sharply, and then continue a slow decline in percent of sales.

Thoughts Space Athletics was the first manufacturer to break the Infinite/Innova streak, and the top ten, by finishing 8^th and 9^th. Those two molds represent 4.4% of all distance drivers. TSA had a couple other molds that made it into the top 15. In fact, there were quite a few brands that had multiple molds in the Top 50 List. Here are the numbers:

Best Distance Drivers by Month

It’s always fun to see how the sales trends come and go. At the beginning of 2022 we were still affected by pandemic supply chain issues and so many popular distance drivers were unavailable or only available at limited quantities. In this living chart you can see the sales trends of the best distance drivers by month and can see the rapid accelerations of popular new releases.

Top Manufacturers

Long-time manufacturer Innova came out on top with over one-fifth of the top 50 molds. Five brands only had one mold. But that is one more than Prodigy and Legacy had. Lone Star and Dino Discs are two newer brands, but they each had a couple molds in the top 50. Now let’s see what percentage of distance driver sales were held by the top 50 molds:

Innova molds sold nearly one in every four distance driver discs in 2022. Infinite sold nearly one in five molds. Over half of all discs in this category came from Innova, Infinite, or Discraft! Innova and Discraft are well-established names in the disc golf world. And Infinite is, or course, our own brand. Although not quite up to the top three levels of sales, there are several newer brands that have made huge gains in the market in recent years. We will talk more about those brands in a future blog.

Now let’s take a deeper look at the Top 50 and break it down into stabilities. We will find out the top 10 overstable molds, and the top 10 understable molds. See how many of these YOU throw.

Top Overstable Distance Drivers

Overstable (and Very Overstable) discs will be defined as molds that have a flight rating Fade of more than 2. The Turn can vary, but is usually 0 to -1. Molds with those flight numbers are favorable among skilled players because they can be thrown very hard, not flip too much, and still have a reliable finish. Here are the Top 10 overstable discs:

Top 10 Overstable Distance Drivers of 2022:

The top 10 Overstable list is divided among four brands. Innova and TSA have three molds each on the list. Infinite and Discraft have two molds each. The first and second molds account for more sales than the last seven combined.

I pulled up the PDGA approval date for the Top 10 Overstable distance drivers and there is quite a range of dates. Here is the list:

The oldest three were approved in 2004, 2005, and 2007. The most recently approved molds just got the PDGA nod last year! The Czar was just a couple of months ago as of this writing. That is an impressive start in a very crowded field of discs.

The Mamba and the Maya were the clear leaders for understable distance drivers. Those had double the sales of the third-place Avenger SS, and nearly as many total sales as the remaining molds in the top 10. Let’s take a look at the PDGA approval dates for the top 10 understable molds:

The top two oldest molds are the Avenger SS and the Katana. And once again, there is a mold that sold enough to make the top ten, yet was approved less than a year ago.
