Best Disc Golf Putters for 2024

Disc Golfer putting in the woods

Earlier this year we showed you the best-selling putters for last year. Now that we’re half way through 2024 we thought we would give you an update and show you which putters are the hot ones for the year so far. Before we get into this year’s numbers let’s look at the top putters for 2023:

Top 50 Disc Golf Putters Sold in 2023

Top 50 Best selling disc golf putters of 2024

The glidey Glitch was sitting on the top spot, with the perennial favorite, the Alpaca, sitting in second. The Zone, Envy, and Tomb rounded out the top five. One out of every four putters sold last year were one of these five discs.

1-MVP Glitch
2-Infinite Discs Alpaca
3-Discraft Zone
4-Axiom Envy
5-Infinite Discs Tomb

Now let’s see how the numbers look for 2024

While the second- through fifth-place molds didn’t change, there is a new best-seller for 2024. The Axiom Pixel was released late enough in the year last year that it didn’t have time to overtake the popular Glitch. This year the Pixel sold enough to take first and account for 10% of all putters sold! The Glitch dropped to number seven this year.

In addition to the Pixel, new to the top 10 for 2024 are the PA-3 and Aviar. Dropping out are the Berg, Proxy, and Judge.

1- Axiom Pixel – The second mold in the popular Simon Line of discs, the Pixel has taken the disc golf world by storm! It is not only the top-selling putter, it is the top-selling mold of all types. It’s fairly neutral flight and rim depth make it a valuable tool from the tee pad to circle one. Check out the Pixel today to learn about the hype!

8- Prodigy PA-3 – The PA-3 is ten year’s old and continues to be one of the most popular putters. It has a straight flight with a decent fade. The PA-3 is the most popular putter for Prodigy.

10- Innova Aviar – The Aviar has been around for longer than most of us have been playing disc golf. You can find it in starter sets and in the bags of some of the top pros. Innova claims it has won more World Championships than any other putter! We know it is always a popular disc.

Top Brands for Best Putters

Graph showing disc golf brands with their numbers of top selling putters

Taking a look at the brands in the top 50 we see that MVP has the most molds in the top 50, including the number one spot. Last year Innova had the most top 50 discs, but this year they dropped to a 2-way tie for second place. They tied with long-time rival Discraft. Eighteen different brands made up the top 50, with seven of those having only one mold.

Highest Rated Disc Golf Putters

One of the awesome benefits to using the Infinite Discs site to shop is that you can read the reviews and see the ratings for discs you are interested in trying. Over time, the ratings become a great way to see what your fellow disc golfers think about certain molds. The ratings system ties is part of the Infinite Rewards. If you aren’t familiar with the Infinite Rewards program, where you can earn rewards by giving reviews or making purchases, check it out HERE and help our review data by giving feedback on your favorite discs.

We wanted to look at the discs in several different categories and see which molds are the top rated in those categories. We’ll start with the highest rated disc golf putters of all time.

All-Time Highest Rated Putters

The Discraft Zone edged out the Infinite Discs Tomb for the number one spot by a hundredth of a point! The Zone has an average rating of 4.89 out of five while the Tomb is rated 4.88. Both of these discs are throwing putters. The Alpaca is only a hundredth behind the Tomb to make a very close top three!

Discraft Zone Approach Disc - Not generally used as a putter but overall classified as a putt and approach disc.

#1 Discraft Zone  – The zone is popular and highly rated partly because of its overstability. It can handle any headwind and nearly every arm and still get good distance. Plus, its thick rim feels amazing to grip and gives you confidence in your drives and upshots.

#2 Infinite Discs Tomb

#3 Infinite Discs Alpaca

Highest Rated Very Overstable Disc Golf Putters

You might not have heard of the Goliath Discs Pillar before but it is the highest rated very overstable disc. The Pillar has a perfect 5-star rating! It helps that there are only two reviews for the disc. That really skews the data, but I’m okay giving them a mention. Taking second (or first, depending on how you feel about the first one) is the Discraft Zone. In third place with a 4.68 star rating is the Prodigy A1.

Goliath overstable putter

#1 Goliath Discs Pillar – The Pillar is the overstable putter in the Goliath discs lineup. The Iowa company got their first mold approved two years ago and have been designing and releasing discs regularly since then. The Pillar is one of the beefiest discs in their lineup and it is available in the Oasis plastic, which is a premium plastic.

#2 Discraft Zone

#3 Prodigy A1

Highest Rated Overstable Disc Golf Putters

When James Conrad threw his Envy into the basket on the last hole at the 2021 World Championships in Utah (I was there!), he certainly gave a nice boost in sales for the putter. The Axiom Envy holds the top spot in the ‘overstable putter’ category with 4.87 out of 5 stars. Taking second place is the popular Berg from Kastaplast. In the final podium spot is the long-time Gateway hit, the Wizard, which averages 4.72 stars.
Although any putter could be used as a thrower or a putter, most of the discs in the Very Overstable and Overstable Putters categories are used as throwing putters.

Axiom Envy, top selling disc golf putt and approach disc.

#1 Axiom Discs Envy   – The overstable, throwing/putting putter has an overstable flight, but is still shapable and useful in a variety of situations on the course. The Envy’s profile is a little thinner than some putters, which is appealing to many. An older, more beat in Envy can be used in tight fairways and situations where control is crucial.

#2 Kastaplast Berg

#3 Gateway Wizard

Highest Rated Stable Flying Disc Golf Putters

A couple of Infinite molds sit atop the list of highest rated stable putters. The Tomb at 4.88 stars and the Alpaca at 4.87 stars. The best-selling disc of 2023 takes third with 4.85 stars. The disc rating drop off slowly as people really like a lot of discs in this category. Discs with stable flights can be used by such a large number of people with differing skill levels and in a large variety of situations. That is why there are so many on this list that are top selling discs, too.
Although many of the discs in this category are mainly throwing putters, they can also be used as putting putters. Look at this category as a list of the top putting putters.

Infinite Discs Tomb best putt and approach disc

#1 Infinite Discs Tomb – The Tomb is a beaded putter with just enough stability to give the disc a wide range of uses. Comfortable and easy to throw for beginners, the Tomb can also be a valuable weapon for advanced players. It is available In many different plastic types and weights, so you are sure to find one that suits you.

#2 Infinite Discs Alpaca

#3 – MVP Glitch

Highest Rated Understable Disc Golf Putters

Although the understable putter category has some well-known names in the top 10, such as the Fierce and the Dynamic Discs Deputy, it is also full of lesser known brands and molds. Most disc golfers will have heard of Prodigy and their PA5, which is the highest rated understable putter. They may not be as familiar with the Mobius and RPM’s Tui, a New Zealand brand and disc. Check out the top 20 to see how many of brands you are familiar with.

Prodigy PA 5 best understable putter

#1 Prodigy PA5  – Described as a “silky smooth understable putt and approach disc that has the ability to hit and hold turnover lines and can perform straight hyzerflips”. The speed 3 putter has a little glide and a good amount of turn. Can be used on the putting green for straight putts, or as a driving putter when you need to flex around objects. The PA5 is available in many different Prodigy plastics.

Best Throwing Putters of 2024

Whenever we post a blog about the best putters, we invariably get a few responses that point out we shouldn’t be including putters such as the Discraft Zone or the MVP Glitch on our list of putters. While these molds are considered putters because of their speed and dimensions, they are rarely used to actually putt with.  Instead, these discs and others like them are typically used to throw off the tee or as approach discs. Although we may get a few people point out that they putt with the discs we will discuss, we will still consider them throwing or driving putters. With that in mind, let’s look at the best throwing putters.

Top 10 Best Throwing Putters

Let’s look at the top 10 throwing putters and learn more about them. Then we will crown the winner. The winner will be chosen by sales numbers and reviews. The top 10 list is presented in alphabetical order by mold.

Descriptions Of The Best Throwing Putters

Infinite Discs Alpaca

The Infinite Discs Alpaca being sucked into a spaceship

The Infinite Discs Alpaca has been a hit since its release, and continues to be the top putting putter for Infinite pros. However, it is also widely used as a throwing putter, due to its ability to handle the power of a drive or approach. The Alpaca feels similar to the popular P2 putter, but is slightly faster. It is made in several plastic types, giving you the exact feel you need for your big drives!

Innova Aviar

A black Innova Aviar with a white stamp

The Innova Aviar is one of the few discs that your dad might have started with. It was one of the first discs made by Innova and has been popular ever since. In fact, it is one of the most popular putters of all time. The Aviar is beadless (although there are beaded versions) and has a stable to overstable flight. Many top pros have chosen the Aviar as their signature disc.

Kastaplast Berg

Yellow Kastaplast Berg with Black Stamp

This speed 1 mold will impress you with its consistency. And its amazing feel in your hand! Although it is widely used as putting putter, players who have discovered its great feel and performance off the tee swear by the Kastaplast Berg. You may not get your longest approach shots with a Berg, but if you want a disc for precision shots, consider this disc.

Axiom Envy

An Axiom Envy in burst colors. Yellow rim and a black stamp

Although many people were aware of how great the Axiom Envy was for driving prior to James Conrad’s famous shot at Worlds, that Holy Shot boosted its popularity to another level. Also known as a putting putter the Envy is a shapeable disc that can handle the power of a world champ. With his recent sponsor change (as of this writing), you can add Eagle McMahon to the list of pros that reach for an Envy for their drives and approaches.

MVP Glitch

When MVP released the Glitch two years ago, the throwing mold was an instant hit. It makes a great approach disc and a nice mold to use to warm up. Its low speed means the disc is good for technical shots that require precise distances. With its low fade, you know the disc will sit where it lands. Try out the Glitch and see why Simon has his name on the mold.

Axiom Pixel

Red Axiom Pixel with blue rim and black stamp

The first putter in the Simon Line of discs, the Axiom Pixel Is a straight-flying disc that has a micro-bead on its overmold rim. The Pixel is stable enough to handle a head wind, but easy to throw on specific lines. It has a deep rim and a micro bead.

Latitude 64 Pure

Peach colored Latitude 64 Pure with gold stamp

Perfect for players of all skill levels, the Pure can be used to cover a lot of ground off the tee. Many people find the Latitude 64 Pure is great for putting as well as driving. The beadless putter has a bit of turn to help you shape tight shots, and a little fade to help you flex out and fade.

Infinite Discs Tomb

Red Infinite Discs Tomb with a silver stamp

The Tomb is a popular approach disc that sports a flat top and a beaded rim. Its stability give it some beef in a wind, but not a crazy dump at the end of its flight. If you like the feel of a beaded putter you will be happy with the performance and feel of the Tomb

Gateway Wizard

Swirly purple Legacy Wizard disc with black wizard stamp

The Gateway Wizard has been around for longer than many of us have been playing disc golf. Few other molds have been available in more plastic blends. This beaded putter is as versatile as its plastic types. Not only can the Wizard be used for a variety of drives and approaches, you will feel just as comfortable finishing the hole with the same disc. The Wizard has been a best-seller for Gateway for decades.

Discraft Zone

Blue Paul McBeth 4X signature Zone with black stamp

A perennial favorite disc for driving and approaches, the Discraft Zone is well known for its ability to fight headwinds and handle powerful drives. The Zone is a beefy disc that can be used by pros and newer players. It is the disc that we get the most comments about when we list it among the best putters, because few people actually putt with them.

And the winner is…

I hate to say it, but there was a tie for the Best Throwing Putter. The top two discs, the Glitch and the Alpaca, had a sudden-death playoff. And emerging on top is the Infinite Discs Alpaca! The difference came down to headwind shots. The Alpaca can handle a headwind and still deliver a great drive or approach. The Glitch is a lighter disc and is more affected by a wind. Both are popular discs and are highly rated.

Runner-up-runner-up

While the Alpaca and Glitch are taking first and second, nipping at their heals is the popular Axiom Envy. Many disc golfers reach for the Envy for accurate and long drives or approaches. Even top pros rely on its stable, reliable flight.

Best Disc Golf Discs For Women

Female disc golfer carrying a bag of discs

Like many of you, I frequently find myself exploring the world of disc golf discs, looking for the perfect discs to improve my game. However, as a male disc golfer, I also know that the disc preferences of female disc golfers may differ from my own. Knowing the importance of inclusivity and representation within the sport, in this blog I wanted to examine the disc selection specifically tailored to meet the needs and preferences of women players.

I will highlight the best disc golf discs for women, acknowledging the unique considerations and nuances that might influence their choices. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started, finding the right discs can significantly impact your performance and enjoyment on the course. So, let’s dive in and explore the best disc options for women disc golfers.

Why Different Discs?

Let’s start by clearing up the reason that we should discuss different discs for women versus men in the first place. On average men are stronger, have longer arms, and have bigger hands than women. In many circumstances, these traits affect one’s ability to throw a disc with more power, which gives men a wider variety of discs and weights that will work for them. The skill level of a disc golfer also affects their disc selection, but all things being equal, men have a physical advantage in the sport of disc golf. Therefore, certain discs will help women throw farther.

Throwing with less power, whether it is for physical reasons or because of skill level, affects the flight of the disc. There are several disc characteristics that cause a disc to fly a certain way. Throwing with the proper power for those characteristics is important. Let’s look at those characteristics and talk about a discs flight numbers.

Briefly, the four-number flight rating system that disc golf has adopted to describe the flight of a disc is the best way we have to categorize our discs. The four numbers represent (in the order they appear on the disc or a website):

  • Speed – the relative speed you need to be able to throw the disc in order for it to fly correctly.
  • Glide – How long the disc will stay in the air
  • Turn – The amount the disc will drift to the right (RHBH throw) at the fastest parts of its flight
  • Fade – The amount that the disc will drift to the left as it starts to slow down

Which Flight Numbers Should You Consider

Each of the numbers have a range that affect whether or not the disc will work for you, your skill level, and how you want to disc to fly. Here is the number range women should consider for the four categories listed above:

Speed (Range 1 to 14)– It is important to get the disc speed to match your power/skill. Unless you are a more advanced player, stick with discs that have a speed of nine or less. Any faster and your disc won’t fly like it should. Again, this is because the disc needs to be thrown at certain speeds, and unless you have the power to hit those speeds, you will not be able to get the distance you need.

Glide (Range 1 to 7) For the most part, you should look for with the most glide as possible. Look for 5-7 glide for the longest distances possible. As your skill improves, you might want a disc with less glide. Until then, maximum glide!

Turn (Range -5 to 2) Getting a disc with a lot of turn will help you get big S-curve throws for maximum distance for your power. The further the turn number is away from zero, the more it will turn. Look for discs that have -5 to -2. A 2- or even -1 disc would be better for throwing in a headwind than a -4 or -5.

Fade (Range 0 to 5) If you don’t have the skill or power to throw faster discs, you really don’t need anything with more fade than 2. Throwing discs in the 0 to 2 range will serve you well.

The Importance Of Weight

It is important to include a weight range to help find discs for someone with less power or skill. It takes less effort to throw a lighter disc, so it is easier for someone who doesn’t have the power to still throw the disc fast enough to fly like it should. Look for discs in the 150-165g weight range, where possible.

Best Drivers For Women

Latitude 64 Diamond disc

Drivers are the disc of choice for getting the most distance out of a throw. They have the widest rims of all disc types. That wider rim means they need to be thrown at faster speeds than slower discs. Drivers can be used after people develop a certain level of skill.

Latitude 64 Diamond – Ladies, if you’re looking for a disc to help you get good distance on your drives while you work on your form, check out the Diamond. This mold is part of the ‘Easy-to-use’ series and is made for players who don’t have as much power or skills. The Diamond comes in lighter weights, which helps you be able to get good drives and upshots. Check it out today!

Innova Leopard – If you look at which discs are found in many Innova beginner sets, you’ll find the Leopard. This low-speed fairway driver has a little bit of turn to assist in achieving longer flights. If you get this mold in DX plastic, it will season to a great flight for people who don’t have the power necessary for faster, more stable discs.

Infinite Discs Sphinx – Not only does the Sphinx have a lot of turn for longer flights, but it is available in very low weights. The Sphinx is also available in I-Blend plastic, which is a bit cheaper than other premium plastics.

Other great drivers for women:

Innova Shark

Discmania Essence

Divergent Discs Kraken

Innova Mamba

MVP Signal

Dino Discs Pterodactyl

Innova Sidewinder

Best Midrange Discs For Women

Discraft Buzzz Disc

Midrange discs are used for shorter drives and approach shots. They are usually speed 4 or speed 5. They are also used for more controlled and precise shots. Their reaction when they hit the ground is much less pronounced than with drivers, making them easier to hit the area you’re aiming for.

Discraft Buzzz – One of the best-selling discs of all time, the Buzz is a straight-flying disc that is great for learning to shape your shots. Its rim size makes it easy to grip and comfortable to throw. The Buzzz is a great disc for people of all skill levels.

Infinite Discs Kon Tiki – This understable midrange is a great one for women to consider. It has a low profile and small rim depth. That makes it easier to grip for people who don’t have big hands. As your skills improve, the Kon Tiki can be used for finesse shots.

Latitude 64 Fuse – The Fuse flies straight and has minimal fade. Not only does the Fuse come in a variety of plastics, it also comes in a variety of weights. If you need to start with a lighter weight, including 150-class, you have that option.

Other midrange discs to consider:

Axiom Paradox

Infinite Discs Anubis

Doomsday Discs Scavenger

Latitude 64 Pearl

Dynamic Discs Truth

Discraft Meteor

Discraft Stratus

Best Putters For Women

Innova Aviar disc

Although putters are usually the only disc you will be using for shots inside the 10-meter circle, they are also used as approach discs and even drives off the tee. They fly for the least distance of any disc type, due to their round nose and slow speed.

Innova Aviar – The Aviar was PDGA approved for play in 1984. It remains popular today. Many other brands have produced their own ‘versions’ of the Aviar.

Dynamic Discs Judge – A beaded putter, the Judge flies straight with minimal fade. If you prefer a beadless version of the disc, check out the Dynamics Discs Warden. Both are available in a variety of plastics.

Infinite Discs Alpaca – Only a few years old, the popular Alpaca is a great mold that has found favor among pros and amateurs alike. This versatile mold is just as effective as a putter or an approach disc.

Best Disc Golf Discs for 2023

Best Disc Golf Discs Banner

As a new year and new tournament season dawns, disc golfers will once again be considering which discs we will be throwing, and looking for new discs to try. Here at Infinite Discs, we thought we would check out our sales from 2022 to let you know what the most popular discs are and give you some discs to consider trying this year. We’ll break it down by disc type and find the top five for each category. Let’s check out the top discs!

Before looking at the individual disc types, let’s look at a graph of all discs sold by Infinite last year, sorted by category. The category that won by a small margin is Putt & Approach, which is just under a third of all sales. Second place was more of a battle. Distance Drivers barely beat Control Drivers by a fraction of a percent. Midranges brought up the rear.

Top Selling Disc Types

  1. Putt and Approach Discs
  2. Distance Drivers
  3. Control Drivers
  4. Midrange Discs

Discs sold by category graph

Best Distance Drivers

The top three drivers were all pretty close in sales, with each of the three representing about 6% of all Distance Driver sales. They are also very similar in flight, having a little turn and good fade. The Infinite Disc’s Emperor just edged out the Innova Wraith for the top spot, both selling within a hundred discs of each other. Innova’s hot selling disc, the Destroyer, was the third most popular disc for 2022. In fourth Infinite Discs Emperor - 2022 Best Driverplace was another popular Infinite mold, the Pharaoh. It accounted for about 5% of all Distance Driver molds. Wrapping up the top five is the Aztec, Infinite’s speed 10 driver.

It will probably not come as a surprise the most popular plastic for the first-place Emperor is the Halo S-Blend. That good-looking plastic is a hit for any mold. About 22% of all Emperors sold in 2022 was in the Halo S-Blend. The next closest was the Metal Flake Glow C-Blend, with 16% of all Emperors sold in that plastic.

Best Control Drivers

Stepping down in speed a little bit we find Control or Fairway Drivers. The best Control Drivers for 2022 were also quite close in sales. The Infinite Discs Dynasty was the best-seller for the year, just beating the Finish Line Era by half a percent of all Control Drivers sold. There was a neck-and-neck race for third place with two Infinite molds. The Centurion ended up beating the Sphinx by a fraction of a percent. Rounding out the top five is the ever-popular Innova Firebird, not too far behind the Sphinx.

The best-selling plastic for the top Control Driver, the Dynasty, is the Signature Swirly S-Blend. The Eric Oakley Dynasty is a beautiful stamp, and the Swirly S-blend adds even more to its appeal. A little over a third of all Dynasty’s cam in the Signature Swirly S-Blend. The second most popular plastic is the I-Blend. Infinite’s I-Blend has the perfect balance of amazing feel at an inexpensive price. It’s one of my favorites.

Best Midrange Discs

For the Mid’s, there isn’t much of a surprise in discovering the mold that sold the most in 2022. It feels like it has been the category leader forever. Selling more than double the second place mold is the amazing Discraft Buzzz. The Buzz made up 12 percent of all Mid’s sold last year. Taking second at around 5% is the Innova Mako3. Just a smidge behind the Mako3 is my favorite, the Infinite Anubis. Another smidge back and you have the Thought Space Athletics Pathfinder. Bringing up the rear, a tick behind the Pathfinder is the Innova Pig. The interesting thing about the Pig, is that for many this disc is classified as a putter or at least an approach disc.

A little over one in four Buzz fans preferred the mold in ESP plastic. ESP was the most popular Buzzz plastic in 2022, beating Z-Line by about 4%.

Best Putt and Approach Discs

On to the final, and largest category, Putt/Approach. Technically, that is two categories. Most of us have our putting putters, and separate discs for throwing. Many molds do both quite well, like the number one seller for 2022, the Infinite Alpaca. Just a couple years old, the Alpaca has quickly become a favorite of many disc golfers. The Alpaca was the best seller in the Putt/Approach category AND the number one selling mold in all categories in 2022.

Next up, also with some respectable sales numbers, is the Infinite Tomb. It trailed the Alpaca by a couple percentage points. Nearly matching the Tomb in sales is the Discraft Zone. Coming in as the third hottest Putt/Approach disc, the Zone is a perennial favorite among disc golfers. The Axiom Envy moved up a little from last year, cinching the number four spot. Last on the top five best-selling Putt/ Approach discs is the Kastaplast Berg.

The top plastic preference for the top Putt/Approach disc is the Signature P-Blend Glow. Nearly one in four Alpaca buyers chose that plastic. A little over 15% of the Alpacas sold were in D-Blend.

Tracking Putter Sales for the Luna, Aviar, and P2

A lot of people in the disc golf market have called 2020 “The Year of the Putter.” The Covid-19 outbreak gave an unexpected boost to putter sales because of the surge in backyard putting. Plus there was additional interest in disc golf as an ideal sport for outdoor, socially distant play.

With that in mind, we thought it would be interesting to track three of the top-selling putters from April 2019 (typically when the spring season lures players back onto the courses) through August 12th, 2020.  We don’t only want to see how the sales compare putter against putter, but also how the supply-and-demand issues in the market have caused sales to fluctuate.

Here is a chart showing those sales as tallied by Infinite Discs.

The LUNA by Discraft (blue line) has seen the biggest swings and spikes. As the signature putter by professional player, Paul McBeth, it gets plenty of time in the spotlight. Availability is always an issue– the putter sells well when it is in stock, but then drops sharply whenever the supply diminishes.

The AVIAR by Innova (red line) has the most steady trend as the supply has typically followed the demand without too many dips. It also followed the sharp spike that coincides with the pandemic outbreak.

The P2 by Discmania (yellow line) also saw growth during the pandemic but saw a sharp decline in the summer months as the supply of the putters completely dried up.

We’ll continue to watch the sales on these popular putters and other discs and will continue to report on this blog from time to time. We hope that you find this data interesting. There’s no doubt that the pandemic has made an impact on the sport and on disc sales, possibly more on putters than other discs.

Focus Friday – The C-Blend Tomb

We’re going to start taking the opportunity to focus on specific discs in specific plastic types on Fridays and call them “FOCUS FRIDAY” blogs. We may not get every week, but we’ll try to keep some fresh discs in the spotlight on a somewhat regular basis.

Our first Focus Friday feature will be on the C-Blend TOMB.

The TOMB has risen in the ranks of Infinite Disc brand best-sellers as it has garnered attention as a superb approach disc. We’ve found that more players, particularly among the Team Infinite roster, use the Tomb to drive or approach the basket in lieu of a traditional mid-range disc. That has appeared to be a trend in disc golf where smaller diameter, putter-sized discs are used instead of the larger diameter mid-range discs (think of the Discraft Zone, Westside Harp, Hyzerbomb Mortar, Innova Pig, etc.). The Tomb has joined those ranks for straight, precision approach shots. It flies surprisingly straight with minimal fade and with it’s low profile and flat top, it feels comfortable for longer throws.

The C-Blend (comparable to Innova Champion plastic) is a more durable plastic that fits perfectly into that role, able to take some abuse and keep its flight characteristics for the long-term. While we have seen it used for putting, the plastic’s texture lends itself even better to mid-range use.

Here is an old review video for the TOMB in general, so you can see it in action:

Give the C-Blend Tomb a try as a straight-flying mid-range option, especially when you need to thread the needle on tight fairways. We think you’ll love it!

Putter Wars 2017 – Summer Update

PUTTER WARS…

At the end of April 2017 we took a look at how putter sales at Infinite Discs were panning out. The disc golf season was still young at the time, but we could already see which putters had momentum behind them.

Now it is time to follow-up and see if that momentum has carried through the summer months. This update covers through the end of July 2017.

At the end of April, the top four spots were held by the Discmania P2 at #1, the Innova Aviar at #2, the Gateway Wizard at #3, and the Dynamic Discs Judge at #4. Interestingly, those top four spots have not changed since the spring, though the sales have accelerated, leaving a larger gap between those leaders. For example, the quantity difference between the P2 and the forth place Judge is now a 57% difference!

Here is a chart of the top 10 putters according to numbers sold through Infinite Discs:

As you can see, the discs that are chasing the top four include three of the popular approach discs, like the Innova Nova, the Westside Harp, and the top-10 newcomer Innova Aviar3. In fact, the Aviar3 joined the race as a new disc this year and has moved up two spots since the last Putter Wars update.

The Streamline Pilot, which started the year as a hot new release, has dropped from the top 10, while the Latitude 64 Dagger has moved into the 10th spot. Rounding out the chart, we can see the Latitude 64 Pure holding strong in 8th place, and the MVP Atom holding on in 9th place.

The two honorable mentions that didn’t quite make the top 10, but that are still strong sellers are the Streamline Pilot and the Dynamic Discs Warden.

We will keep you updated as we head into the home stretch, just before the final, end-of-year holiday sales kick in. Until then, will anybody be able to catch the P2?
