Greek Mythology offers a lot of epic tales, and enjoyable stories. It also has some really weird and messed up ones. How the Minotaur came to be is one of those weird messed up stories. Something to do with Poseidon, Pasiphaë, and a Snow-White Bull that was meant for sacrifice. The Minotaur was a ferocious beast that devoured humans, and was eventually placed into a labyrinth. And because a son of Minos was killed by some Athenians, Minos forced the Athenians to send 7 young men and 7 young women into the maze as tribute on a regular basis, just like the Hunger Games. That is until Theseus and Ariadne killed the Minotaur, ending the tribute.

So what is a Minotaur when it comes to Disc Golf?

Divergent Discs is a relatively new disc golf manufacturer. They are focus on creating discs that are easy to throw, that aren’t meant to handle the power of a professional disc golfer. Meaning, they make discs for the casual player.

The Minotaur is a 8 speed fairway driver that is overstable. This disc is not quite like the other Divergent Discs molds, most of the other Divergent molds are pretty understable, and can be quite flippy. While this one can handle power. It is still easy to throw, and will still offer some good distance regardless of your arm speed. This disc is enjoyable to throw, and is extremely reliable. This will provide some good solid straight lines with a healthy fade, or some good flex lines. Overall, the Minotaur is a great overstable fairway driver.

Alfa Discs is a new disc golf brand as of this year. Unbeknownst to us, this company was inspired by a spur of the moment detour visit to our store in Logan, UT, while on vacation in the US. Alfa Discs is based out of Norway, and is the first Norwegian disc golf manufacturer. At the moment they’ve produced just the Apollo and two plastics types; Crystal Line and Chrome Line.

We are starting up Focus Friday once again. For those of you who don’t know what Focus Friday is, this is where we provide a discount code for a particular disc mold. The promo code will last from Friday till the end of the weekend. We will “focus” on a new mold every Friday for the next foreseeable future. Black Friday Sale 2021

BLACK FRIDAY 2021

For 2021 our Black Friday weekend sale had to be adapted to account for the supply chain struggles in the disc golf market. Because we are unable to get many of the popular disc models from top manufacturers it has become even more difficult to get anything “special” or “unique” to offer our loyal customers and holiday shoppers. But we still managed to pull together some fun stamps and special runs which also highlight some of the smaller brands with great products. Plus, we’ll be putting a lot of those smaller brands on sale so that you can try them out at a discounted price.

DATES AND DISC DROPS

Our sale will kick off on Thanksgiving night, launching in full force on Black Friday (November 26th) and continuing through Cyber Monday (November 29th). Everything that is going to be discounted WILL BE DISCOUNTED ON ALL OF THOSE DAYS. Our Black Friday Ad will be a little bit different this year. Also, all of our special edition disc drops will be released in waves, with SOME OF EACH DISC DROPPING AT FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES during the weekend. Disc Golf Black Friday

Black Friday is our busiest week of the year at Infinite Discs. Before the actual sales week, we spend months planning and working with different disc golf artists and manufacturers to provide you with savings, unique items, limited runs and a fun disc golf shopping experience.

Discount Prices on Major Disc Golf Brands

With the unique disc golf supply chain situation, discount prices on many of the major brands is not possible this year. If you are a regular disc golf shopper, you’ve probably noticed that most disc molds in brands like Innova, Discraft, Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, Westside and MVP have not been regularly in stock. We cannot keep these these discs in stock during regular times and sales prices on these items would further strain the problem. We have done our best to provide some special releases from these brands and for Black Friday week and have the most inventory we’ve had on hand since the pandemic began.

With major inflation in plastic prices and shipping costs, all of the major manufacturers have had to raise the price of their products twice during the last year. The most recent price increase from Dynamic Discs was just announced yesterday. The MSRP of some plastic types raised by as much as $3. We wish this wasn’t the case, but expect higher disc prices to be the norm for the foreseeable future. For Black Friday week, all Trilogy discs will remain at their pre price hike rate.

While we have severe supply shortage from the major brands, we have been able to work out deals with many of the small brands where we are able to work out ultra low sale prices for the entire sales week.

Shipping During Black Friday Week

Our sales volume during Black Friday week is more than the rest of November combined. This is a big strain on our shipping capacity and work force. Be assured that we are doing all we can to get your package shipped out as fast as possible. For this weekend only we have crews working night shifts around the clock.

Not only is the Black Friday – Cyber Monday weekend our busiest shipping week of the year, but it is also the biggest shipping time for UPS, FedEx and the US Postal Service. These companies are doing the best they can, but some packages are slower than normal due to the sheer volume increase. We have additional Saturday pickups arranged with the major shipping couriers and when our receiving dock gets too full we will take extra loads to UPS ourselves.

Please be patient if your order does not arrive as fast as it normally does. You can always view your shipment status by logging into your Infinite account and clicking my orders to track your order.

Please Be Patient with our Website and Server

Our website was developed nearly a decade ago and expanded piece by piece as we’ve added new elements and made improvements. It’s current capacity was not designed for our current traffic, especially the demand we see during shopping on Black Friday sales week. We currently have more than 70,000 individually photographed discs available for you to shop. The unique combination of so many individual products can easily strain the database and server.

When too much traffic hits the website at once our website often gets very slow and occasionally crashes completely. If this happens while you are shopping, please be patient and come back to the website and try again at a later time.

We have a new website in the works that will perform better and have many new and exciting features. Unfortunately, it is not yet ready so we will have to continue to use the old one for Black Friday 2021.

Infinite Discs: Disc Sales & Discount Codes

Since 2012 Infinite Discs has provided a multiplicity of disc golf necessities to the disc golf community. On our site you can find discs, carts, bags, grip enhancers, and even putting aids (to name a few things available online); most everything disc golf related can be found on InfiniteDics.com.

Here at Infinite Discs, we have the goal to provide you with all of your disc golf needs at the best price available. To fulfill this goal, we are always working to sell the discs at the least expensive price possible.

The purpose of this article is to detail how to navigate Infinite Discs’ sales (and their frequency), its “On Sale” page, and how to use discount codes. All to help you to take advantage of available savings while shopping at Infinite Discs.

Weekly Sale Items

Every week we have a group of items on sale for you. These products are updated on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, then will remain on sale until the following Wednesday. There are a handful of ways to tell which disc golf products are on sale. The easiest and the fastest way to tell is by looking at the “What’s on sale” page which can be found HERE. The link to this page is found while browsing the InfiniteDiscs.com website by looking at the right sidebar on a PC, or scrolling down on your phone. The “What’s on sale” page will detail everything that is on sale for that week. There are always discs on sale, as well as some non-disc items. The “What’s on sale” page divides everything into its appropriate groups of Distance Drivers, Control Drivers, Mid Range, Putter, and Other Products (non-disc items).

Again, this page can be accessed from almost any page on the Infinite Discs website. You’ll need to click on “What’s on sale” to view all products that are cheaper than usual for that week. If you click on one of the discs within the green box you’ll be taken to that disc’s landing page rather than the page illustrating all sale items. The items are automatically discount, so no discount code or coupon is necessary for these items. After their week in the spotlight is up, the item price will return to the regular price.

Another way to tell which products are discounted, is that there will be a green banner going across the top right corner of the picture. The banner will simply say, “Sale”. Like you can see on the Yikun Wei as pictured below:

Sometimes only certain plastic types or special editions will be featured on sale. For discs, it is a little harder to tell which plastic type is on sale without knowing the previous prices and browsing through the available discs.

To see the prices of some individual items (and subsequently which items are on sale) click on “Buy Now” a little pop-up window will appear with the available items. In this window, you’ll see the prices of the products helping you to know which portion is on sale. As you can see with this Prodigy bag example below. The Prodigy bag will show up on the “What’s on sale” page and upon clicking on it you will see that just the pink bag is on sale:

Discount/Promo Codes

In addition to those weekly sale items, Infinite Discs does sometimes have discount codes. We are very strict about time limitations and product limitations when issuing discount codes. If you find a discount code on one of the many “coupon” websites, it is most likely that the code is long expired and was only being used for a very short time. This is because we reward our regular followers on social media with these fixed-time offers, rather than throwing discount codes all over the internet. Since we already sell discs at inexpensive prices, we do not find it necessary or feasible to offer general discount codes.

There are a handful of ways that these discount codes are advertised. They are primarily announced through social media or through our blog posts that feature specific items.

One of the common discount codes is offered through Focus Friday. This is an off-season weekly post that features a specific disc or product. It releases on Fridays, and the code provided therein will last until the following Monday (only for a weekend). Depending on the product, the code can provide 10% – 20% off that featured item. This blog post may also be shared through our social media means as well in hopes that it helps our customers to try out new products at a discount.

Other discount codes are usually for limited timeframes, like during a Black Friday sale event, or a weekend Father’s Day offer, or other special occasions. While those codes can help you take advantage of a discount during that short period of time, they will expire. We cannot extend discount codes beyond the designated time period.

Using a discount code is very easy. You’ll simply put the promo code into the “Discount Codes” box, which can be found on the shopping cart page under all of the products in this shopping cart. To make that box available for text entry, you’ll need to click on the arrow found on the right had side. Once clicked, the box will appear where you paste your code. Once you enter the code in the text box and hit enter on the keyboard or click on “Apply Discount”, it will show the discounted price above in the shopping cart. Only one discount code can be applied per transaction.
