Getting a starter set is the perfect way for beginners pick up of some awesome discs at a great price. Most of them have molds that are geared toward newer players, with flight numbers that favor less skilled players, so newer players can start playing with discs that they can actually throw. Once players gain a little more experience, they will find sets that cater to people with intermediate and advanced skill levels. Let’s look at the best starter sets of 2024.

1- Divergent Discs Max Performance Starter Set –

The Max Performance Starter Set by Divergent Discs features three discs that use easy-to-throw designs and a high level of dependability. Choose Your Fighter, Week 3

Last week the popular Ninja Alpaca and the Whale Rider entered the octagon. It wasn’t too much of a surprise that the Alpaca took the win. The Alpaca disc and the Alpaca logo has been a hit since they were released. However, in a few weeks the Ninja will have to take on The Marauder! In week one, The Marauder pulled off a sizable victory against the number one seed. Will The Marauder keep that momentum? Or will the Ninja Alpaca make a move? Only time will tell.

For this week, however, we have another fierce battle. The Rawr Dino is taking on the Armored Chicken! Check out the stamp options below and pick up a disc to cast your vote!

Here’s how it works: We’ve featured lots of new characters on our stamps over the years. Now we’ll find out which is the most popular! Each week, two of the eight Infinite characters will face off in a battle for dominance. During that week, Infinite will have discs available with each combatant on the stamp. Whichever character sells the most that week is the winner of that battle. The winning mascot cheers and advances in the bracket, while the pouts and hides.

Choose Your Fighter! Week Two

The bookmakers apparently messed up their predictions last week, because the eighth ranked fighter KO’d number one. The Marauder took down the Parachute Penguin in dramatic fashion and moves on to the next round. Who will the Marauder face?

This week, two new fighters enter the ring to see who will emerge victorious. The beloved Ninja Alpaca takes on the powerful Whale Rider. YOU decide who wins!

Here’s how it works: We’ve featured lots of new characters on our stamps over the years. Now we’ll find out which is the most popular! Each week, two of the eight Infinite characters will face off in a battle to see who advances. During that week, Infinite will have discs available with each combatant on the stamp. Whichever character sells the most that week is the winner of that battle. The winning mascot gloats and moves on in the bracket, while the loser hangs their head and walks away.

New battles will be announced every Monday, and will last for one week. Winners will continue to advance in the bracket, until there is one final champion! Infinite will then release discs with a unique stamp featuring the winning mascot.

When six university schoolmates were introduced to disc sports, little did they know the depth they would get into the sport. They started out playing ultimate, but were eventually introduced to disc golf. During their final year in school they decided to start a company whose mission was to promote flying disc sports. Yikun Discs was born!

Yikun became a big name regionally, and eventually became the first Asian company to get discs approved by the PDGA, USA Ultimate, and the World Flying Disc Federation. They currently ship to over 40 countries.

Attention disc golf enthusiasts and Infinite fans! We’re thrilled to announce an event that’s sure to set the course on fire—the Choose Your Fighter Battles! Eight of our iconic disc mascots are ready to face off in a bracket-style battle where every purchase powers their journey to victory. This isn’t just about you scoring a quality disc; it’s about rallying behind your favorite mascot and being part of a community-driven competition.

Here’s how it works: We’ve featured lots of new characters on our stamps over the years. Now we’ll find out which is the most popular! Each week, two of the eight Infinite characters will face off in a battle for dominance. During that week, Infinite will have discs available with each combatant on the stamp. Whichever character sells the most that week is the winner of that battle. The winning mascot celebrates and moves on in the bracket, while the loser sulks and slinks away.

Throughout this blog series we’ve been finding the best disc golf discs for 2025. First we looked at the best putters, then the best midranges, before moving on to the higher-speed discs, the best fairway drivers and best distance drivers. This week, we’ll combine the best of the best, and find out which mold is number one!

First, let’s look at the top disc results for the previous year. Then we can see which discs did better and which ones might have fallen off the list.

Although we see a new leader in sales for last year, the Axiom Pixel, it overcame the same challenges of taking the top spot as the Glitch: it did so in its first full year of sales! The MVP/Axiom folks are putting out some great molds that are backed by popular pros.

Here are highlights of the top discs for the year:

1 Axiom Pixel – The Pixel is a straight, fairly glidey putter that, although it feels right at home as an approach disc or throwing putter on shorter holes, can also be found in the hands of disc golfers hoping to sink a long putt.

2 Innova Wraith – A perennial top contender for sales, the Wraith has the popular flight characteristics as the Destroyer, but a little slower speed. Every brand eventually makes a mold with the same flight numbers.

3 Infinite Discs Emperor – Coming up on its sixth birthday, the Emperor has been a hit from the beginning. It is made out of nearly every Infinite plastic, so give you a variety of options. And yes, it has a flight similar to the aforementioned Destroyer.

4 Infinite Discs Alpaca – Another mold that has been a hit from the beginning is the Infinite Alpaca. The beadless putter feels wonderful in your hand and performs even better. Try throwing the Alpaca today and see what the hype is all about.

5 Innova Destroyer – Ahhh, the Innova Destroyer. It has been around longer that most people have been playing disc golf. And it has been a favorite ever since its release. The Destroyer can be found in nearly every plastic, and a variety of weights, to meet the needs of most disc golfers. It has flight numbers that mimic a nice S-curve. Those numbers contribute to a nice S-curve for its flight.

Best Selling Disc Golf Discs

Brands in the Top 50

It is always interesting to see how many different brands are represented in the list of the top discs. Some brands you pretty much expect to see on the list. Others are somewhat of a surprise. With the changing disc golf manufacturer landscape, a couple brands still dominate, but smaller brands are starting to carve out their share of the market. Here are the top Brands on the list:

No one will be surprised to see that Innova leads the pack, with a whopping 18 molds in the top 50. Just as unsurprising, Infinite takes second place. Discraft, with its star-studded lineup of touring pros, comes in fourth with four molds in the top 50.

Most Popular Disc Types

If you sort the top 50 discs according to their disc type, three of the four types listed all have close to the same representation in the top 50. The exception is the midrange disc, with only 5 molds in the top 50.

The highest-rated midrange disc in the top 50 is the Discraft Buzzz, which is the sixth most popular mold, and will likely continue to land near the top of the list. It is a staple in many player’s bags, and has been a hot-seller for a long time.

Best Fairway Driver 2025

According to the Best Control (Fairway) Driver blog, the Infinite Discs Sphinx is in the number one spot. Although it is an understable disc that is well suited for newer players, it is also available in plastics that make the mold more overstable, and more likely to be utilized by more experienced players.

Best Distance Driver

The Best Distance Driver blog indicated that the Innova Wraith was everyone’s favorite. Like the Buzzz, it is not unusual to see the Wraith at or near the top of the list. It has desirable flight numbers. Endorsed by the legend, Ken Climo, the Wraith can be used by forehand and backhand players to maximize their throws.

Introducing: Lucky Discs

If you hop on a boat leaving New York City and travel across the Atlantic, you might pass through the English Channel and into the North Sea. If you continue your journey, you might pass near Denmark and into the Baltic Sea. Traveling north out of the Baltic Sea you will enter the Bothnia Sea. Near the west coast of the Bonia Sea is the city of Pori, Finland.

Pori is home to one of the oldest Jazz festivals in Europe. The city has a local food called “porilainen” (which is a sausage-based type of sandwich), and a church building that dates back to the 13^th century. And Pori is home to Lucky Discs.

Lucky in the USA

Although we like to carry more disc golf brands than anyone on earth, it isn’t very often that we get to have a visit from representatives of the brand. That was the case when Pekka and Andy stopped by our shop/warehouse to say hi and show us their discs. We enjoyed our visit with them, and wanted to feature them in our blog series about the different brands that we carry. Let’s learn about Lucky Discs!

Introducing Lucky Discs

Although they are not the newest disc golf brand around, they are still new by disc manufacturer standards. Lucky Discs was officially founded just three years ago, in 2022, by Tero Pesola and his team. As long-time disc golf enthusiasts, the team wanted to design and create stylish discs that reflect their vision for the sport. From that idea, Lucky Discs was born.

With the goal of creating unique discs instead of just copies of other disc, the folks at Lucky decided to get their discs manufactured in Finland. And they got some assistance from local disc golf pro, Kai Vesa. With a manufacturer and a pro on their team, they got to work creating perfect discs for the disc golf community.

Birth of a Brand

In May of 2022, the first mold from Lucky Discs, the Money Shot, was officially PDGA approved. The Money Shot is a beefy beadless approach putter that can handle big arms for precision approach shots, and is a great utility disc for everyone.

After the Money Shot, Lucky got two other molds released. The Bank Robber is their control driver that is available in their premium plastics. The Treasure Hunt is a high-speed driver with a ton of glide (picture a Destroyer, but with more glide).

A Mold By Any Other Name

The naming convention for their molds is simply rooted in real-life rounds. Certainly, all of us have been hunting for the treasure of an ace! Many of us have robbed our buddies of a victory by executing the perfect hole. And another name for a winning shot is a Money Shot. It will be fun to see what other themed names their team dreams up out on the course!

So far, the hot seller for Lucky is the Bank Robber in Premium plastic. In fact, Premium is their most popular overall plastic. It is extremely durable and feels great in the hand, and it is favored by power players. Their other plastics include Basic and Ultrium.

Coming Soon…

Soon to be added to the Lucky Discs line is a stylish midrange disc. They expect it to launch soon, and fill an important niche for the brand. It will be perfect for short drives and approach shots.

As for the future of the brand, they say that things are looking great. They have been receiving encouraging feedback from U.S. disc golfers and retailers. Moving forward they will continue to court American buyers, and continue to supply the European market. They are aiming for strong growth, believing that there will always be a solid demand for high-quality, stylish discs.

The Future of Disc Golf

They are just as optimistic about the future of the sport. Although disc golf growth has fluctuated the past 20 years, it has steadily climbed. As more countries discover disc golf, our community will grow. A great example of this global sport is the 2025 World Championships being held in Finland. It is the first time that Worlds has been held outside of the US.

“Disc golf is a sport for everyone”, Lucky Discs founder Tero Pesola said. “Every player can set their own goals, and there is always something new to learn.”

When asked what makes Lucky Discs unique, Pesola said, “The uniqueness of Lucky Discs is based on a genuine desire to do things the way we would want them done for ourselves – out of love for the sport.”

Infinite is sure that any brand with that empathetic approach and sincere attitude is welcome in disc golf!
