Shipping at Infinite Discs – Answers to Questions

Infinite Discs works tirelessly to create an online disc golf shopping experience that not only presents the largest selection of discs in an easy-to-navigate way, but that also provides unmatched customer service and quick order fulfillment.

Here is an outline of how your order is processed and an explanation of your shipping options.

WHEN ARE PACKAGES SHIPPED?

Infinite Discs processes orders from 6am to 9pm Monday – Friday.  Saturday orders are processed from 8am-5pm and we are closed on Sundays.

On Saturdays the carriers only pick up in the early afternoon, so not as many orders will leave our facility on a Saturday vs a weekday. Unless your order is made early Saturday morning, it will likely be picked up Monday.

We strive to ship all regular orders within 1-3 business days.  Orders with a shipping upgrade almost always ship in less than 24 hours.

Holidays, weekends, and big releases can delay processing times.  Things like weather and pandemics can also slow the process down with the carriers.

WHO DELIVERS THE PACKAGES?

Once we pull and package your order, we process a shipping label for the US Postal Service, FedEx, UPS, or DHL, depending on which service has the best rate for the package weight and destination. Most shipments are sent using USPS (US Postal Service) for the best speed and tracking services.

Large and heavier packages always ship via ground services like FedEx, UPS, or DHL because of their bulk. Those large packages include items like backpacks, baskets, carts, package sets, or orders of more than 8 discs.

International packages are currently shipped using UPS Innovations for delivery outside of the USA.

The tracking number you receive in your email and on your profile will link to the appropriate shipping company so you can follow your package’s progress.

CAN YOU UPGRADE SHIPPING?

During checkout, you will be given shipping options and add-ons that you can select.

If you select the Priority Upgrade, there are two primary things that will change on your order:

  • Upgrading will guarantee that we pay the added cost to ship your package through USPS Priority shipping rather than USPS ground or an alternative lower cost method.  While Priority mail does not guarantee delivery times, it offers an average faster 2-5 day estimated delivery time. *See note for exceptions.
  • Upgrading will also move your order to the FRONT of the shipping queue, so we pull it before other orders with standard shipping. During busy times and following weekends, this can speed up the order processing time by 1-2 days.

Important Note: Upgraded shipping for large or heavy items like carts, backpacks, baskets, and disc orders of 10 or more will not change the shipping service as these are usually shipped via UPS or FedEx. Similarly, the Upgrade will NOT change the shipping service for international packages.

If you select the Upgrade in those cases, it will only move the order to the front of the shipping queue.

OTHER SHIPPING UPGRADES

After selecting the desired shipping, you are offered an upgrade to “Ship In a Box” which will ensure your discs are packaged in a box.

For orders with 5 or less discs, we will usually package them in padded envelopes. Those padded envelopes protect the discs and reduces the cost and weight of the package. If you want the added protection of a box for an extra $2, you can select this upgrade to cover the cost of the box and the extra packaging weight.

Note: If you are ordering more than five discs, your discs will ship in a box anyway, so upgrading to a box is not necessary after 5 discs.  Box upgrades are also not necessary on large items that will not fit in a mailing envelope.

You may also select to add Mystery Swag or a Mystery Disc to any order you place. The mystery swag adds $9 to your order with no additional cost in shipping. You’ll then receive mystery items in your package which could include anything from a t-shirt (in a size you indicate) to hats, beanies, mini discs, towels, Sport Sacks, and more. We try to keep a large variety of swag items on hand for adventurous customers who add the Mystery Swag to their order.

The Mystery Disc option costs $12 and will add a mystery disc to your package. As the name implies, these discs are a MYSTERY and can include discs of any style or brand. We do not take requests for specific discs or brands– if you want a specific disc, you can always order it from our website.

The Mystery Discs are meant to be a surprise and we often use this program to introduce new disc brands and models to our customers as well as highlighting some classic brands and molds.   The two promises we make with mystery discs are that:

1-The disc will have a value of at least $12 or more.  (usually more)

2-The disc will be a surprise and could be ANYTHING.  That being said, we usually try to avoid higher speed items that many people can’t throw.

DO WE SHIP OUTSIDE THE USA?

While international shipping can be expensive, we DO ship discs and other small accessory items outside of the USA.

We DO NOT ship large items like bags, backpacks, baskets, etc. internationally. The shipping costs to ship those items often exceed the cost of the items themselves, so we simply cannot do it.

All international packages are shipped through UPS who then hands off the packages to the postal service of the receiving countries for final delivery.  Delivery time estimates on international orders are longer than domestic orders. It’s challenging to estimate delivery times for international packages because of customs processing and the speed of the postal service in the receiving country.  While many international orders can come within 2-3 weeks, it’s not uncommon for international orders to some countries to take over 30 days to arrive.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Infinite Discs has NO control over import fees or customs taxes in your country. You are responsible to pay customs charges that are charged by your country to receive your package.

TIPS FOR BEST SHIPPING RESULTS

Here are a few best practices as you’re placing your order and awaiting the arrival of your package:

  • If you need it a little faster (within the USA), select the Shipping Upgrade. It may make the day or two difference that you desire.
  • If you have a strict deadline like a tournament, please order your discs sooner, rather than waiting until 2-3 days before the event. While we do our best to fulfill orders quickly, we cannot make the mail move more quickly or guarantee that you’ll get your disc by a certain day or time.
  • Use a profile when placing your order. We send confirmation & tracking information through automated emails when orders are shipped, but with a profile you’ll have access to your order status, tracking numbers, order history and rewards points for all of your purchases, simply by logging in. Checking out as a guest prevents you from having access to any of this information.
  • We sometimes see customers ordering several times in a single day (or in a single shipping period). In these cases, we often try to combine orders into a single package. This does not mean the difference in shipping costs are refunded automatically as there is not a systematic way to make this happen. It is most cost-effective if you order everything in a single order, but if you place multiple that are combined and wish to request a refund of the cost difference, then contact us at support@infinitediscs.com and we will accommodate your request accordingly.

TRACKING YOUR PACKAGE

Once your package is shipped, you should receive an automated email with your tracking information. If you don’t see that email, it is often because your email service has filtered the email into your “spam” folder. Since it is an automatically generated email, many email providers assume that it’s spam. If you find the email in you spam folder, right-click on the email and select “Not Spam” and eventually those emails will go to your regular “In” box.

THE BEST WAY TO CHECK YOUR ORDER STATUS AND TRACKING is by logging into your InfiniteDiscs.com account and clicking on “My Account” and then “My Orders”.  All of your order information can be found there at any time with only a few clicks of the mouse.

If you don’t have a login on our website, it pays to make one. It gives you full access to you order history, tracking numbers, order status, and rewards points that can be redeemed for gift cards to use on future orders.

WHEN TO CONTACT SUPPORT ABOUT YOUR PACKAGE

We are happy to provide quick and helpful support at Infinite Discs. When it comes to the delivery of your package, we rely on USPS and the other shipping companies to deliver the order in a timely manner.  If the tracking information shows a delay, we ask that you be patient and give it 2-3 days to see if it continues moving or gets delivered.  Since we don’t handle the delivery, we aren’t able to determine the cause of a delay or specifically where a package is once in the carrier’s hands. We have access to the same tracking information that we send out when the order is processed.

Here are times we recommend contacting support@infinitediscs.com about your package:

  • If you do not receive a tracking number within a few days of placing your order. Reach out after you’ve checked your junk mail and profile but still can’t find the tracking number. We ship quickly, so a few days delay might mean something unexpected happened when you placed your order. Entering an incorrect email when ordering will make it so that you don’t see your tracking information.
  • If you are in the USA and your package stops tracking or moving for 5 or more days, then please contact us. In many cases we can’t put in a claim with the delivery service until a week or two after it was shipped.  We can, however, have the carriers look into a delayed package after it goes 4-5 days without a scan.  Delivery services are not perfect, so sometimes they mis-route packages and it takes time to get back on course.
  • If you are outside the USA, contact us if it is taking longer than 30 days for your package to reach you. We can request more information from the delivery service to check the package status. Sometimes we have to wait longer to file a claim, but we can at least inquire. Please note on your UPS tracking page, a second tracking number for your country’s postal service will be included for once the package has been handed over to them.
  • If your package arrives damaged by the delivery, please contact us with photos of the damaged products. Then we can file a claim with the delivery service. The more evidence we have, the better.

In any of these cases, please email us at support@infinitediscs.com and we can work on a resolution for you. We ALWAYS make these things right with our customers, but sometimes we need to go through certain steps or procedures when working with the carriers.

IF YOUR PACKAGE SAYS “DELIVERED” BUT YOU DON’T SEE IT…

This is a concern that we sometimes hear from customers.  In many cases the US Postal Service handles the final delivery to your door.  When a tracking number says “delivered” it is because a local postal worker scanned it at delivery. When they scan it, there are GPS coordinates recorded.  Once scanned, USPS can tell EXACTLY where they were when it was scanned. We do not have access to that information, but your local post office does, so please reach out to them with your tracking number and ask them to verify that the scan matches the correct delivery address.

In many of these situations, the local post office finds that they either delivered it to a wrong house, or they scanned it at a location that does not match the delivery address. In these cases, they are obligated to locate the package for you, which they usually do right away.

PLEASE NOTE: Infinite Discs will not simply refund a missing order if tracking shows it was “delivered”.  Our primary goal in that case is to work with you and the carrier to locate the missing package.  We have found that many missing packages are recoverable if the time is taken to communicate with the local post office who delivered the package.  It takes some effort to communicate with the local post office, but it increases the chances of recovering the product.

If your local post office is unable to help resolve or find your package, then feel free to contact us at support@infinitediscs.com and we’ll look into what else can be done to remedy the situation.

GENERAL SUMMARY WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING

When it comes to shipping, remember these few things for the best experience:

  • Be Patient. Carrying a package from one place to another takes time. In the majority of cases, it works flawlessly. Delays happen, but they usually work out given a little time.
  • If you want an order faster, click on the Shipping Upgrade during checkout. It will give a little turbo boost to your processing and delivery time.
  • Look up your tracking information before you panic. Logging into our website is extremely easy and gives you access to nearly everything that we can tell you about your order. Click on “My Account” and “My Orders” to check order status and track your package.

Thanks for shopping at Infinite Discs! Though this has been lengthy, we hope this detailed explanation of the shipping process helps answer any questions you have about the delivery of your orders.

The Infinite Discs PHARAOH Rules Distance Drivers

Infinite Discs is proud to present the first distance driver in our new brand! The Pharaoh was PDGA approved on February 26th, 2018 and is now officially released in the First Run stock edition on March 30th, 2018.

The First Run was made in Swirly S-Blend plastic and there are a total of 800 discs in that first run. Infinite Discs has opted to put the run number and quantity for each run on the disc stamp so that the players and collectors can know exactly what they have.

Of those 800 First Run Pharaoh discs, 100 of them were stamped with Garrett Gurthie’s signature at the bottom as a signature edition. Garrett Gurthie is a 4-times USDGC distance champion who loves throwing discs as hard and as far as possible, and he instantly fell in love with the Pharaoh. He’s planning on using it as a regular distance driver in his bag as he continues competing during the 2018 season.

So far, the feedback from early testing has been very positive, so we’ve already scheduled the next two runs of the Pharaoh. We’re looking forward to this disc becoming one of the top, high-speed distance drivers in the market!

Here is a little video clip of Garrett Gurthie crushing the Pharaoh over 600 feet!

March New Releases and New Look from Discraft

DISCRAFT has just released a couple of new discs and has also unleashed a whole new look with their disc catalog. Most notably, the newer runs of their most popular discs now come with the 4-digit flight rating system that has been adopted by most disc golf brands, large and small. Discraft had kept a single digit stability rating for years, but has finally opted to give not only their rating, but the 4-digit variety for those players who believe that it better represents the complete flight characteristics of the disc. We applaud this move!

First you’ll see the four digits which equate to speed / glide / turn / fade, followed by a fifth number which is the old-school Discraft flight number. So now players who like one system or the other can have both for easy reference.

They’ve also given their Titanium plastic a new look with a large, attractive two-color stamp as their regular stock stamp.

While they’ve always had quality discs and great plastic blends, this new look and the effort to conform to the expectations of the growing disc golf market really raises the appeal for the Discraft brand.

According to Discraft, the new Titanium plastic is also an improved blend with greater durability, improved strength, and better grip. So, not only should you see the difference, you should feel it in the plastic as well.

Here is a list of discs that are already released with the new Titanium, plus a few that are coming soon:

Archer (coming this spring)
Buzzz

On top of the new Titanium, Discraft is also unleashing the new, more attractive ESP Plastic blend with more swirls and decorative effect. They also say that the plastic is now more durable and grippy, but most consumers will instantly notice the added beauty and the unique look to each disc.

Here is another list of the discs that are already released in the new ESP plus some that are coming later this spring:

BIG Z VULTURE – Now Available!

The Vulture is now released on Big Z plastic with a very cool, large stamp. The Vulture is an overstable fairway driver that has a bit less fade than the Predator, with excellent control and the ability to fight moderate headwinds. Pros and less experienced players will appreciate the shot-shaping and consistency of the Vulture.

These are the flight numbers for the Vulture:

  • Speed: 9.0
  • Glide: 4.0
  • Turn: 0.0
  • Fade: 2.0

The traditional Discraft flight number is 1.7

BIG Z STING – Now Available!

The Sting was released as the 2017 Ace Race disc. This understable driver provides long glide and more distance for newer disc golfers. The Sting is easy to control for short to medium range drives.

These are the flight numbers for the Sting:

  • Speed: 6.0
  • Glide: 5.0
  • Turn: -2.0
  • Fade: 1.0

The traditional Discraft flight number is 0.0

Discraft also released the 10th Anniversary Zone in both Elite Z with a traditional hot stamp, plus a Z Supercolor. There were just over 2000 of the hot stamp made, and just over 1000 of the colored version. They’ve been hot sellers.

Watch for more from Discraft!

Axiom & MVP March 2018 New Releases

March has been a big month for MVP and Axiom! Axiom has released one new disc, and MVP has released some molds in new plastic types.

Let’s kick it off with the Tantrum.

The Tantrum is Axiom’s first 24.5mm rim distance driver. Basically, it’s the first of the really thick rim discs for Axiom. MVP released discs of same rim width last year- so it’s looking like this will be the year for big rimmed Axiom discs.

They picked the perfect mold for debuting the big rims- the Tantrum is a stable to straight long distance bomber. Coming in around 14, 5, -1, 2, you can use this for maximum distance. Even with a lower arm speed, it’ll fly straight for a good while before fading. This disc should be accessible to most Intermediate players and up. Axiom describes this disc as “a longer Defy“.

This disc was released with a stock stamp, plus a special edition “Artist Series” featuring art from John Dorn.

MVP’s new contributions include the Matrix in Neutron plastic (with special stamp), the Catalyst in Plasma plastic, and a fresh Skulboy stamp on the Electron Atom.

We’re looking forward to the next new releases from MVP, Axiom, and Streamline!

Three New Releases from VIKING DISCS

Viking Discs from Finland entered the scene with a fun, diverse disc lineup in 2017 and now they’ve added three new discs to that lineup for the 2018 spring and summer disc golf season. These three discs add very nicely to their existing arsenal, providing some flight characteristics that were not yet present with their brand. Let’s take a look at those three new discs from VIKING DISCS.

VALHALLA – Distance Driver

The newest distance driver that Viking has added to the mix is the VALHALLA which is available in their base plastic blend, Ground, as well as in their premium blends, Storm and Armor.  Without the maxed-out rim width of the Thunder God Thor, this new driver falls more into the realm of usefulness to a wider group of players. While still overstable with a consistent fade, that fade is not overly exaggerated or premature when thrown at a speed that most intermediate and experienced players can manage. It is more likely to take the position as the workhorse distance driver fro the Viking Discs selection so far with their previous distance drivers falling more into the category of “utility discs” with the exception of the very manageable Ragnarok.  As with other Viking Discs, if you plan to throw this with any power, it’s worth paying for the premium plastics because the Ground plastic will not stand up to many collisions with trees (or the ground) without eventual damage.

BARBARIAN – Control Driver

The Barbarian was introduced in base Ground plastic as well as in Storm and Armor. It also came out in “Fire” plastic which is technically Storm plastic with an attached LED light to the center bottom of the flight plate for night play. This is a solid, dependable control driver with consistent fade and manageable speed. It is stable enough to throw with higher power and still stay in control. I would be comparable to an Innova TeeBird and is better suited to intermediate and advanced play than the previously released Cosmos control driver which is designed much more toward the beginning player.

LOKI – Mid-Range

It has been difficult to find very overstable mid-range discs for a while, with the Dynamic Discs Justice pretty much standing alone as a very overstable utility disc for short shots. The Loki can now claim a spot among those very few beefy, overstable mid-range discs. It was released in base Ground plastic as well as in Storm and Armor. Whether thrown forehand or backhand, this disc will fade hard once it loses velocity, and at a “speed 4” it will not go far before it loses that velocity. So, expect a sharp, dumping fade at end-of-flight and know that this disc is designed for specific use as an overstable utility disc.

We look forward to seeing more discs added to the Viking Discs linup in coming months and years!

State of Disc Golf – What Brands Do You Know and Throw?

In the 2018 State of Disc Golf Survey we asked some questions that we love to ask every year– we want to know which brands are most recognized and loved, plus how many players bag discs by those brands. Sometimes we see an imbalance between brand awareness and loyalty vs. what is actually inside a player’s bag. For example, last year we discovered that while more people claimed that Dynamic Discs and Latitude 64 were their favorite brands, there were actually more people who had Discraft in their bags than those who bagged Dynamic Discs or Latitude 64. Let’s take a look at how those results panned out in this year’s survey.

BRAND AWARENESS VS IN YOUR BAG

First of all, this chart excludes any brands that were under 1% of survey participants claiming to bag the brand. The “Regularly Follow the Brand” data is made up of those participants who said that they regularly follow the brand as apposed to “not aware of them,” “heard of them,” “I know some things about them,” etc. In other words, we only included the data where players ranked the brand the highest in terms of awareness.

Innova has taken the top spot again in terms of high brand awareness with Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, and Westside (all Trilogy brands) following behind. When it comes to bagging the brand, Discraft has now fallen right behind Dynamic Discs, but is still in front of Latitude 64. That is still a big disparity between people who regularly follow Discraft and those who bag Discraft — while they don’t follow the brand, they do have Discraft discs in their bag. It’s probably safe to assume that the extremely popular Buzzz mid-range has a lot to do with that.

Discmania is also making great headway in terms of the number of players who bag their discs, and their brand awareness is also growing rapidly. MVP and Axiom have picked up in the number of players bagging their discs. The awareness of those brands has also pulled up the awareness of their newer spin-off brand, Streamline, though not as many people bag that brand yet (at the time of this survey there were only two Streamline molds).

The rising of other smaller brands in awareness and disc use, like RPM, Mint Discs, Kastaplast, Hyzer Bomb, etc. is encouraging in showing that more players are becoming aware of newer or smaller brands, and are more likely now to add their discs to bags when compared to previous years.

FAVORITE MANUFACTURER

We also asked survey participants this question: If you could throw discs made by only one manufacturer, which would it be?

The “Innova Made” brands took the lead with 46.4% and that includes brands like Discmania, Hyzer Bomb, and Millenium, which are all manufactured by Innova.

Trilogy came in a strong second with 32.9% and that includes the brands Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, and Westside.

MVP also manufactures Axiom and Streamline Discs, and they now take up third place with 9.3%. Though quite a bit behind the two leaders, they are a fast-growing part of the disc golf market. They passed Discraft this year to take that third place spot.

Another ironic move in this year’s survey is that Vibram jumped into sixth place where they didn’t even hit the top eight last year. But since the survey they have opted to exit the disc golf business.

CHANGING BRAND LOYALTIES

Finally, we asked if survey participants had changed their favorite brand during the last year. The majority 74.5% said that they did not change favorite brands, while the other 25.5% said that they did. So, a quarter of disc golfers changed brand loyalties last year, showing that the market is still fluid when it comes to branding.

The Race is On for 2018 Best-Selling Discs

When it comes to best-selling discs, we’re going to keep you posted as the 2018 year progresses. It is still early in the year, at this point, with only the winter months in play. However, we can already see which discs are taking a significant lead. We expect sales at Infinite Discs to speed up dramatically with the coming of spring, and that may shake up the sales figures. Upcoming new disc releases will also play into the ongoing tally.

THE TOP FIVE BEST-SELLING DISCS SO FAR…

#1 – Discmania P2

The P2 Putter picked up a lot of momentum throughout 2017 and that has continued into the new 2018 sales year. So far, Infinite Discs has been able to better keep up with the high demand as Discmania has beefed-up production for the P2. Plus, the 2018 tour support edition of the C-Line P2 for Simon Lizotte (called the “Sky God”) gave the sales an extra boost.

We expect to see the momentum with the P2 continue through the spring as many players begin stocking up on their favorite putters for the new, warmer disc golf season. After all, when it is time to start perfecting your putting skills, it helps to have more than just one or two.

#2 – Innova DESTROYER

The Destroyer distance driver has held the top spot for a long time when it comes to sales at Infinite Discs. But at the moment, it has fallen to 2nd place behind the P2. The top two discs are still in a close sprint, but well ahead of the next discs in line. As the tournament season accelerates, we fully expect to see the release of some signature editions that will increase the Destroyer sales even more. Last year there were a couple of very popular signature editions, including the Swirly Star Philo Brathwaite edition and the Splatter Star Steve Brinster edition. Regardless of what editions come out, we fully expect the Destroyer to keep a strong foothold in the top three or four all year long.

#3 – Innova AVIAR

The Aviar is the most popular Innova brand putter, by far. So far in 2018 it is taking up third place in the best-seller race. But just to clarify how far ahead the top two discs are, the Aviar has sold 1/3 the number of discs as the 2nd place Destroyer. So, there is a large void between those two leaders and all the discs that are chasing.

If 2018 is anything like 2017 then the sales for the Aviar will take a huge jump once this year’s McPro edition is released. Everybody is waiting to see what this year’s Paul McBeth tour support edition will look like, and it will likely become the best-selling edition of the Aviar once it hits the market.

#4 – Innova SHRYKE

The Shryke is the most popular newcomer when it comes to Innova drivers. It quickly sprang into popularity as a high-speed distance driver that can be handled by a wide range of players, from relatively new players to experienced players. With a little bit of understability upon release, the Shryke can fly in great s-curves, plus it has high glide for optimum distance results. For players who have trouble handling the often overstable flight of the Destroyer, a Shryke can fill the spot as a go-to for distance. This is a disc that has the potential to gain momentum as more and more players discover it and try it out, so we expect to see the Shryke stay within the top ten throughout 2018, even with a possible wave of new distance drivers hitting the market this year.

#5 – Infinite Discs EXODUS

The Exodus is the initial disc released in the new Infinite Discs line. Manufactured by Innova, the Infinite Disc branded discs will have a familiar feel while adding some quality molds to the market. It was perhaps expected that the Exodus would jump to the top of disc sales at Infinite Discs because the initial launch of the entire brand is only available through the Infinite Discs store. The max weight discs sold out within a couple of weeks of the first run release, leaving only low weights in the inventory until a second run is released (we do not yet know when that 2nd run will become available). So, as supply diminishes, the sales numbers will likely drop. With the very positive response to the flight characteristics of the Exodus, we expect to see the sales figures spike once another run is available to order. As a fairway driver that can handle torque, it is a great disc that fits a crossover position, straddling the line between control driver and distance driver. It is another disc that can find a solid place in the bag of players at all levels.
