Category: New Releases – New Disc Golf Discs on the Market
Our new discs category features information on the latest new disc releases. If you’re looking for the hottest new releases in disc golf including insider information about the latest new molds and flight paths this is the page to be.
Today MVP and Axiom Disc Sports announced some big upcoming discs to be released on Friday, April 29th. These releases include Plasma editions of the Axiom Theory and the Insanity, along with a new Axiom disc called the Vanish.
The Vanish has been much anticipated by the community since its appearance on the PDGA Approved Disc list a couple of weeks ago in early April, and after much speculation, the mystery is over. Axiom describes the disc as a middle ground between the MVP Wave and the Orbital. It will debut in Neutron plastic in both a regular stock fashion at our regular Neutron price of 15.95, as well as a special edition stamp described as the 1616 Special Edition Vanish. This disc will be higher speed and offer a straight to understable flight path depending on wind direction and thrower power. You can pre-order both editions at:
The manufacturers note that both of the new Plasma molds have a bit more of a shoulder, accompanied by a slight increase in dome and a subsequent boost to glide in flight. If you haven’t had the chance to see the recent Axiom Plasma released and fully appreciate how sweet the metalic two-color Plasma GYRO™ build looks, head over to the site at: Axiom Plasma Proxy Axiom Plasma Crave Axiom Plasma Envy
MVP also announced new Multicolor Tri-Lit LED Lights for night rounds. The new editions include the MVP Circuit logo so that you can add a bit of MVP brand to any of your discs for rounds when you don’t want to lose any of your beloved plastic to the darkness.
So far the Axiom Plasma editions of the Envy, Proxy, and Crave have seen a lot of support! What other molds are you excited to be released in Plasma plastic?
It is only March and disc golf season is in full swing, or shall I say flight? Recently a series of bag releases has us excited around the office. New innovative bag offerings from both Dynamic Discs, Innova, and Prodigy are poised to add many new options to the already rapidly growing disc golf bag scene.
Dynamic Discs Ranger H2O
Dynamic Discs released their Ranger H2.0 and Sniper Backpacks two weeks ago, and after a few test rounds with each we are extremely impressed with these new designs. The Ranger H2.0’s disc notches in the bottom of the heavy duty weather ready bag are truly very nice innovations, as discs stay anchored in their spots as the wearer moves around to their lie. New features like this combined with things like the rain hood and water proof material making up the bottom of the bag definitely come together into a backpack loaded with value, without adding much of any weight to the original Ranger Backpack.
Dynamic Discs Sniper Backpack
The new line of Sniper Backpacks from Dynamic are no less impressive, coming in at a $69.99 price point without sacrificing the comfort that is a huge selling point of larger backpack bags. The Sniper is still tall enough that it does not look like a child’s backpack, like some other low-cost backpacks seem to. With a capacity of 16 discs in the main compartment the user has plenty of options while on the course. The Sniper keeps to Dynamic’s tradition of bags that hold plenty of discs within a comfortable and non-encumbering profile.
Innova Heropack
Much like the Dynamic Discs Sniper Backpack, the Innova Heropack comes in at a low price point, right at $89.99. The Heropack is a wider backpack that can hold 25 discs in the main compartment, and it features two easy to access putter pockets as well. Notably, the Heropack comes in a very wide variety of colors and patterns, the fan favorite so far being the green plaid option. The Heropack is a great option for anyone looking for a high-capacity low-cost backpack.
Prodigy Pro BP-1
Prodigy’s Pro BP-1 has just been revamped in time for the Spring 2016 season, featuring new colors and a rain cover for the early season rain. Keeping with the idea of bags to keep you prepared, Prodigy also released their Practice Bag, a large duffel-like bag that holds 45 drivers or 30 putters. This bag is perfect for carrying around large quantities of discs for field throwing or just casual practice rounds.
Dynamic Discs Commander Backpack
Most recently, Dynamic officially released their newest member to their growing family of high-quality bags, the Commander Backpack. Coming in at a price point right between the Ranger H2.0 and the Sniper, the Commander is a wider backpack that can hold 20 discs in its main disc compartment, and comes with all of the convenient pockets and putter holders. For $119.99, this bag is the ultimate combination of quality and affordability.
These are all great options if you are looking to upgrade your bag as the season picks up. You can stick with your current bag manufacturer, or try something new out. All that really matters is that you go play!
Innova has just announced a colossal release. Their first speed 14 distance driver, the Colossus, will be shipped to retailers on January 18th.
The Innova Colossus will be initially released in GStar plastic. A limited number of first run stamped discs are available now for pre-order. Each retailer is only allowed 25 proto star discs, and there will likely be very few available after pre-order sales conclude.
Infinite Discs is scheduled to receive and ship out the Colossus to those who pre-order on January 20th.
In addition to the Colossus, Innova also announced the release of several other popular discs in new plastic types including the DX Ape, DX Roc3, GStar Leopard3 and Star Leopard3,
The 2016 Utah Open will be held May 13-15 at Mulligan’s Golf Course (Avery Jenkins’ picture of Hole 18 was featured on this year’s Innova Disc Golf Calander), and is set to be the biggest disc golf event in Utah history! We at Infinite Discs are proud to announce that we will be sponsoring this stellar event. What does that mean for you?
That means you now have access to some of the sickest Innova discs that we have ever seen in the Infinite Discs warehouse. This includes color glow, swirly star, gummy champion, and more! Here is a full list of all the Utah Open discs. These will be gone so fast! So grab some while you can and support this awesome event!
****UPDATE: We just got in a new addition to the Utah Open family–The Champion Colossus! The Colossus is Innova’s first 14 speed driver, and the stock run is only available in GStar. Make sure to grab one of these fundraiser discs while they last, because they won’t last long!
As the disc golf world continues to grow, so do the number of new disc models. Last year there were more than 70 new disc models introduced by more than a dozen different disc manufacturers. If historic disc manufacturing trends continue, this number will only increase this year.
Here’s what we know about new discs that will be released in 2015:
Innova
From PDGA approval and promotional releases, we know that Innova will release a putter the Whale, the Colt, and the new midrange (VRoc). There is also rumor of a really beefy putter the Innova Hawg, which may be like or replace the Pig.
Innova has also mentioned that there will actually be three different VRoc versions released throughout the year.
On January 16th Innova will release there new Wombat Midrange. This disc is said to be very similar to the Foxbat, but with “VTech” technology that makes it less likely to turn over.
Discraft
We haven’t heard any news about new releases coming out from Discraft, other than lots of new plastic varieties as limited edition fundraiser discs for the Ledgestone Open.
There will of course be a new release for the Discraft Ace Race this fall. Many disc golfers are hoping that this year the Ace Race disc will be either a putter or a midrange.
Trilogy
Latitude 64:
Latitude 64 has already released a new ultra high speed driver, the Ballista, in the new Snow Line plastic. The catch with this new release that it is only available as a limited fundraiser for the Scandanavian Open. Word is that the Ballista won’t be available at retail prices in the United States until 2016.
As part of the Trilogy Challenge, a Latitude 64 putter called the Macana will be released. This new disc will initially be available in Latitude’s new baseline retro plastic.
Dynamic Discs:
From the Disc Golf Answer Man podcast we learned that Dynamic Discs plans to release four new discs in 2015, plus the “Evidence” which will be used as the Trilogy Challenge midrange. This includes the Breakout (understable fairway driver), Justice (overstable midrange), and Convict (Overstable fairway driver).
Westside:
Another new release that will be available in May for those who play in the Trilogy challenge is the Sampo driver. This disc will be released in the new ultra flexible Elasto plastic.
Westside will also be releasing three discs on March 1st:
Vibram has been working on a new fairway driver the “Valley“. It seems as if development of a new fairway driver has been slower than desired, because they were not able to release it prior to the annual Birdie Bash. The Valley will be released at the end of June.
Later in the summer Vibram plans to release two additional new discs the Arch and Notch. Vibram also has announced a new rubber blend called “granite.”
MVP:
In 2015 MVP has already released a very highly rated new putter (Atom) in a new baseline plastic. They have also introduced the new Plasma plastic for their Ion putter.
As seen in the video, MVP is planning to release four new drivers that will have thicker rims and be even faster than the new drivers they released in 2014. The names of the new MVP drivers are listed below.
The Axiom family manufactured by MVP continue to spit out new plastic at an impressive rate. Not only will there be new MVP distance drivers, but MVP has announced that there will be four new 2.0 cm Axiom drivers this year: The Fireball, Wrath, Insanity, and Virus. It will be interesting to see how different these discs will be from the Motion, Tesla, Inertia, and Impulse.
Legacy:
Legacy has shared on its Facebook page that it has plans for four new discs in 2015: The Enemy, Hunter, Prowler, and Nemesis. The first released in this batch will likely be a new putter, probably the Prowler, as Sarah Hokum hinted during a podcast on Smashboxx TV. The Prowler will be a beaded putter with a round edge. The Hunter is a very straight flying putt and approach disc.
While we’re not sure exactly sure what the drivers will be like, the Nemesis is a slightly understable high speed driver and the Enemy will should be a very overstable control driver.
Gateway:
Gateway has two new putt and approach discs, the Warspear and the Devil Hawk. These are unique overstable putters with a thumb track on top.
The Warspear and the Devil Hawk have not yet been PDGA approved.
DGA:
DGA has announced the release of its new putter the “Steady” because they have so much respect for Steady Ed Headrick, this beaded putter is supposed to be a really good one.
DGA will also release the Hellfire, an overstable driver.
Reptilian:
Reptilian is a new disc golf company that had its first disc the “Scale” PDGA approved at the end of last year.
What other new discs are expected for 2015 that we have missed?
You’ve probably heard a little bit about the 2015 Ledgestone Insurance Open presented by Discraft going down August 21-23 in the Greater Peoria Area, Illinois. Tournament Director Nate Heinold has already been quoted saying this tournament will have a minimum of $35,000 added cash. This would make the 2015 LIO the “richest” NT event in the history of disc golf. All this excitement, and registration doesn’t even open for another six weeks.
We here at Infinite Discs are thrilled about this event and all that it means the sport of disc golf. How are tournaments like LIO able to add this kind of cash? Sponsorship.
Today we are excited to announce Infinite Discs as an Elite Sponsor of the 2015 Ledgestone Insurance Open presented by Discraft. We are so happy to be able to play a small part in making this one of the best disc golf events ever. So what does this mean for you?
This sponsorship makes Infinite Discs an exclusive dealer of LIO tournament discs! Today we received hundreds of some of the sickest limited run Discraft discs we have ever seen. And there are more coming!
The first batch consists of Discraft’s Banger GT, Comet, Flick, and Zone.
The Flick is one of the best overhand discs, and this is the first time it has ever been released in Titanium Plastic!
What makes these discs so special? Can you say, “Titanium Plastic?” That’s right, all 4 disc molds have never been available in Titanium until now, and chances are that they will never be available in Titanium again. These collectible discs are available in Discrafts traditional bar stamp in a variety of popular foils including flag, jelly bean, and camo. Grab yours while they are still available, because these beauties are not going to last long!

Over the course of the last year we have been quietly working on our own version of bags for disc golfers. Our goal throughout the process was to create a bag that exceeds similarly sized bags in both quality and affordability. We feel that we have accomplished that with both the Infinite Small Bag and the Infinite Large Bag.

Fabric Durability
We had two options to fix concerns with fabric. Stop using fabric, or use better fabric. To keep the bag affordable, fabric is the answer. To make it more durable we found 1680D Nylon; the most durable nylon fabric available in textile manufacturing. When you touch the fabric you can feel the density of this durable material which is more and made of dense strands of nylon which are more resistant to shredding or tearing. This is the most resilient fabric to adverse conditions.
Zipper Durability
Zippers frequently come off their tracks, or the pull tab completely breaks off of the zipper; requiring you to improvise with a paper clip or just never zip your bag again. To remedy this, we went with YKK zippers. In case you are unfamiliar with zippers, YKK is the most trusted brand of zippers in the world. All metal, and smooth sliding, you should be pleased with your YKK zipper.
Straps tearing out of seams
Seams in other bags separate easily. We have strong stitching on all seems; especially on seems where straps are attached. That way if your bag
Having addressed all of these issues, we hope that your Infinite Large Bag or Infinite Small Bag treat you well for years to come. Will your bag have issues eventually? We hope not, but unfortunately everything comes in need of repair; with an Infinite Discs bag, chances are that your time between replacement bags will be drastically reduced.
Our Promise
We feel confident that we have created a very quality bag made of durable material. If you experience any issues with the workmanship listed above within the first three months, contact us and we’ll gladly help you. Please view our Return & Exchange Policy.
