We released a lot of Z Glo plastic Raptors this week, featuring several stamps. Raptors in love and Raptors in space are the most recent stamps that you can find on these molds. Get yourself a Raptors in love stamp HERE, and purchase a Space Raptor stamp HERE

Prodiscus Jokeri X

The Jokeri has an older brother now… the Jokerie X. If you have never heard of this small brand, check out our most recent blog post introducing the Prodiscus brand. The Jokeri is a highly rated putt and approach disc that people find works very well in difficult weather conditions. The Jokeri X is very similar to this, but features a bead along the rim. If you like beaded discs, this one is for you… purchase one HERE.

The JokeriX is a beaded version of the Jokeri. This is a highly versatile disc that offers excellent control and a comfortable grip. You will find that it is a reliable overstable disc that performs well in a variety of situations.

New Disc Golf Gear

Over these past few weeks we have been adding some new disc golf gear that you will need for your disc golf adventures. There are a good variety of new products added to our product catalog. You can check out the newest ones below. We’re always working hard to ensure that we provide all of the disc golf needs that you have.

There are some retrievers, a night round accessory, grip enhancers, and some trading cards!

Infinite Discs Holster XL

Well if you liked the original holster that we made, you’ll love this one. As this holds more discs, and has room for a mini marker. Basically, making it all that much more useful. This fits comfortably on the leg, just like the original does, but it holds 4-5 discs instead of 3-4. It also can still double as a putter pocket for your cart. Overall, this is a pretty nifty way to carry a few discs, its pretty affordable, and convenient.

The Infinite Discs Holster XL is a fun and functional disc pouch that you can strap to your waist with an adjustable belt strap and a secure leg strap to comfortably carry 4-5 discs for quick, casual disc golf rounds. You’ll be sure to turn heads as you tuck your go-to discs into the holster and strut around the fairway. It is comfortable enough to wear while you throw.

The Infinite Discs Holster XL also features a hoop on the top to work in tandem with the belt strap and leg strap to attach the pouch to backpacks. Or it can be attached to disc golf cart handles or frames to use as a spare putter pouch. Basically, you’ll have a very affordable pouch for 4-5 extra discs. Plus the XL edition features a handy pocket for your mini marker.

Whether you strap it to your body, hang it from your backpack, or affix it to your cart, you’ll have a very handy way to carry around extra discs!

Option Discs Option Bag

This grip bag is a pretty cool take on a grip enhancer. I like that it is small and easy to grab, easily covering my hand in its grip enhancing powder. I additionally like that I can play hacky sack with it. I think that in so doing it makes the grippiness factor increase, as it breaks apart the pellets inside the bag allowing for more of the powder to get onto my hand. Overall, this thing is pretty great and enjoyable to have.

The Option Bag is a grip enhancement tool that is filled with a blend of chalk and ceramsite with a subtle minty scent. It is also designed as a footbag, or a Hacky Sack.

This will help you to have better grip on your discs. Or, it can keep you entertained while you’re waiting for the card in front of you to finish.

Hive Talon

This Hive Talon retriever is pretty solid. It has two hooks on it, both of which make for grabbing the disc quite easy. Not as good as a single hook to poke it out of a tree though. It extends a good length, and it is reliable.

The Hive Disc Talon Retriever a versatile took for disc retrieval. With its twin-hook talon and a telescoping pole, this retriever makes getting hard to reach discs easy. Whether your disc is in the water, stuck in a tree, or trapped in a thorny thicket, the Hive Disc Talon Retriever is up to the task. With a Talon Retriever in-hand you’ll spend less time and effort saving your discs and more time playing!

Learn more about it here.

Pro Tour Trading Cards

I’ve been waiting for someone to do this for a while now. Trading cards are cool and fun to collect. It is also a fun little thing to purchase and be surprised by who you got within the packet.

These are 12-card packs of the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) 2022 trading cards for collectors and fans. There are 123 cards including many pros, all stars, champions, and more. Collect them all by purchasing random card packs and trading with your friends.

MVP 100 LED Blacklight

I am impressed with how well this thing works. It is kind of bulky, but man, does it charge my glow discs well. Its large surface area works in its benefit to provide a lot of UV light to the disc. Proving to charge more of the disc in the same amount of time as other, smaller, UV lights. Overall, this is a pretty cool UV light.

This is a powerful UV flashlight from MVP. It has an extra large 100 LED lights, designed to charge your glow discs. It charges glow plastic in record time, allowing you to spend more time focusing on playing the night round. Powered by 6 AA batteries (which are included). This is encased in a sturdy a metal casing, to help it last.

DiscreetTriever Driver Diver Disc Golf Retriever

This retriever is a surprisingly useful tool. It is quite useful, and super light! I’ve found that it works very nicely with all sorts of sticks. I am a little nervous about hitting it hard against something, as I know some 3D printed plastics aren’t the strongest. But this one does seem pretty strong. It grabs the rim of the disc pretty securely, I like it a lot. Also, I love the fact that this doesn’t take up that much room, it just clips onto one of my towel D-rings. It is pretty great.

The Driver Diver (Patent Pending) is a new disc golf retriever. This is a little different than other retrievers as it is merely the retriever head. You will use the reusable zip ties to attach it to any stick that you find around. Then when you are done, you can detach it from the stick and clip it back onto you bag. Eliminating the bulkiness of a large retriever stick.

The Driver Diver has many benefits. As it can attach to most any stick around. Additionally, it has a low profile and is extremely light. Making this an easily portable retriever that doesn’t take up much space. The low-cost and low profile make this a great retriever.

Thank you for your loyalty, keep throwing what you love!

Discmania P2

The P2 is an excellent mold for me, capable of so many shots. I enjoy using this disc for putting as well as throwing. The thing that I like about this mold is driving with this disc. I’ve been able to use this for hyzer lines, and anhyzer lines alike. Also, this works well for straight shots, its awesome. Basically this is my go-to driving putter. I’ve enjoyed using this disc as a putter as well. The amount of glide is sufficient for this to float through the air.

The stability of this putter is pretty solid. It is stable enough that I can trust it on weaker headwinds, and expect it to fly like it normally does. On top of this, I really enjoy how the plastic feels. It is soft and tacky at the same time.

The Discount code

Here is the deal, head over to our website and check out the P2 and select the ones that you want and any other item that you want or need. Introducing Prodiscus

If one travels from the United States across the Atlantic Ocean toward northern Europe, they might reach the Baltic Sea. The eastern arm of the Baltic Sea is known as the Gulf of Finland. Along the shores of Gulf lies the Capital of Finland, Helsinki, and northwest of Helsinki is the city of Nokia.

Nokia is known throughout the world for the phone/electronics company that used to be located there, and bears its name. For disc golfers, Nokia is where The Beast at Disc Golf Park is found. And Nokia is home to disc golf manufacturer, Prodiscus.

First in Finland

Prodiscus was founded in 2006 by Kai Vesa, and started as an importer of disc golf products. However, after a few years, the company wanted to expand beyond just importing products. They decided to work toward producing their own line of discs.

In 2010, their first disc was approved by the PDGA for production. That disc was the Jokeri, an overstable putter that remains one of their most popular molds, and an exceptional throwing putter. Following the Jokeri, Prodiscus began adding more discs to their lineup. For the next few years they would design and release 1-3 new molds per year, slowly growing their brand and the discs they offered.

Popular Molds

Their most popular molds are the Jokeri, Midari, and Laseri. Those are a putter, midrange disc, and a control driver, respectively.

As mentioned previously, the Jokeri is an overstable putter. It is beadless, an excellent driving or approach disc, and perfect as a headwind disc. The Jokeri was the first mold for Prodiscus, and it has been a hit from the beginning.

The Midari is one of Prodiscus’ midranges. It is shapable with its straight flight and good fade. The Midari is available in base and premium plastics.

The Laseri is a control driver that lives up to its name. It is a laser-straight disc with just a little turn and fade. Pick up a Laseri in a premium plastic and it will give you consistent flights for a long time. It also comes in base plastic.

Finnish Names

The naming convention used by Prodiscus is to choose English words, then add a Finnish vowel. Thus, the Joker becomes the Jokeri, and the Laser becomes the Laseri. The proper pronunciation is to say the English word, followed by long ‘e’ sound, as in ‘feet’. Their names also take inspiration from mythology and ancient civilizations. Sparta, Titan, and Troija (an ancient city in Asia Minor) were chosen for that reason.

Along the way they developed several different plastic blends for their discs. Those include Basic, Basic Hard, Premium, Ultrium, and Platinium. The most popular of these options is the Ultrium.

Ultrium is a premium plastic that feels like a slightly more grippy Star plastic. Their Premium plastic is similar to Champion in durability, but a little gummier for added grip. Basic is similar to other base plastics. It is grippy and less durable than other Prodiscus plastics.

Sponsorships

In addition to the new molds and plastics they were releasing, they also started serving the disc golf community by sponsoring some of the most promising players in the world. Current European Champion Henna Blomroos, Devan Owens, and Henrik Johansen were all sponsored by Prodiscus. Other big names originally sponsored by include Kevin Jones and Luke Humphries, who have gone on to make careers out of disc golf. Some of the current athletes sponsored by Prodiscus include a top European Masters player, Kristian Bengtsson and US Tour disc golfer, Josh Coghill.

Prodiscus has also created several different levels of sponsorship and made them available to disc golfers with a variety of skill levels. Here are the Team levels:

Team Spartan: This entry-level sponsorship if for people who use Prodiscus products and want to help promote them. It is the Team for amateurs who just love to play, or who want to improve and compete at higher levels.

Team Ambassador: This Team level is for Prodiscus fans who are already working to grow the sport. It is for people who run tournaments and leagues, and who promote the sport. These team members will be supported by Prodiscus as they help grow the sport.

Team Prodiscus: This is the highest Team level. It is for players who compete regularly and are committed to improving their game while serving as a representative of Prodiscus. This level already has members who are growing as disc golfers, and whose names you will be hearing about in the future!

Anyone Prodiscus fans interested in applying for any team membership may contact Prodiscus directly at: team@prodiscus.fi

New Molds

Prodiscus works hard to give the best possible equipment to the disc golf world. They are also working to add to their product line. There will be several new molds coming out soon. Prodiscus says one of the new molds, the JokeriX, which was PDGA approved on May 9, has a rim depth that is between the Jokeri and the Sparta. The JokeriX and MidariX will be joined shortly by the SpartaX.

Kai Vesa, the founder of Prodiscus is optimistic about the future of the sport, and the future his company. Like other businesses in the industry, they got a boost from the pandemic that will last for years to come.

“Our future looks really promising. We’ve made major investments for our own factory and our manufacturing volumes are going up significantly”, he said. “And so is the demand for Prodiscus products.”

Disc Golf In The Future

Kai anticipates big things for the sport as well. He predicts even bigger sponsors and audience than ever before. He also expects that Finnish and European players will be regularly challenging the top US players for the top tournaments every year. We got a glimpse of that earlier this year with Kristin Tattar either winning or finishing on the podium at several major tournaments.

Whatever the future may hold for disc golf, Prodiscus will continue to innovate and create new molds and products for the disc golf world. They were the first Finnish disc golf manufacturer, and they strive to be the best. According to Kai Vesa, “We try to be down to earth company that serves the customer the best way possible.”

Focus Friday – TSA Muse

Happy Friday all! It’s the weekend, hopefully you’ve got some good courses in line to play, or some tournaments to play. As the weekend is upon us, we are going to have another Focus Friday. This week, we are focusing on the Muse from Thought Space Athletics. Use the code FOCUSMUSE to save 25% off all Muse molds!

The Muse

The Muse is Thought Space Athletic’s first putter. This mold is a putt & approach that is advertised as an overstable disc. Though, I find that it is more of a neutral disc. For me it has been a really usable disc for many situations. Its been a solid driving putter, as well as a pretty decent putter. I do think it doesn’t have as much glide as I would like for putting, but sometimes that is exactly what is needed.

It has a held a so many different lines or me, its been excellent. I’ve been really able to trust this mold to do what I need it to do. The Anhyzer line, the hyzer line, and the straight flight. I think that I have enjoyed this mold more for throwing than for putting. The Nerve plastic is pretty grippy, it isn’t the most durable – just like any other base plastic though. Overall, this is an enjoyable mold, and the stamps are always pretty cool.

So you should check out the Muse, it’ll probably turn out to inspire you to continue playing disc golf and inspire you to continue to improve. Because some discs are just so fun to throw they make you want to get out to throw them. This could be one of those. And now is a great time to get more, or to try it out, or get more of them. Over the weekend with the promo code you’ll save 25% on all the Muses that you want or need.

Focus Friday – Infinite Discs Ruin

It is that time once again, happy Friday. I’m pretty stoked and happy that it is Friday. The weekend should make for a good time. For this Focus Friday we will feature one of our own molds: the Ruin. Use FOCUSRUIN to save 20% on all Ruins over the weekend.

Infinite Discs Ruin

The Ruin is a pretty useful approach disc. It is an overstable mold that can handle power and can withstand the wind. Making it an excellent utility disc, or a reliable approach disc. Providing an overstable flight path with a hardy fade at the end. This has a unique rim to it, and an incredibly flat top. Fitting in the hand fairly well regardless of a forehand or backhand grip, providing good control over the disc.

I’ve used this mold for a large variety of approach shots. It’s been quite useful for the simple approach, a headwind putt, getting around an object, for drives, and for some flex shots. It has a lot of uses out on the course, it is a lot of fun to throw. Because of its dependable flight, it is quite useful.

Now is a great time to get you some Ruins, as you can save 20% on all Ruins. Check out all the reviews of it to see if it is a good disc for you or not. After all, now is a great time to get one to try out, or to simply get a backup or two.

Focus Friday – Innova Teebird

Happy Friday all! I’m pretty sure that school is finally over for the year, which means summer is officially here! And that makes me happy, summer is the best. To make this weekend even better, we’re focusing on the Innova Teebird! Use the promocode FOCUSBIRD you’ll save 15% on all Teebirds. Over the weekend, you may use this code to save you 15% on any Teebird that you want.

The Innova Teebird

If you have thrown the Teebird, you understand how awesome this disc is. For me, it is one of my favorite molds ever made. It handles a large amount of my drives, it is a go-to fairway driver of mine.

Throwing this mold is real easy and comfortable for me. I really like that when thrown flat, it flies dead straight with a healthy fade a the end. There isn’t much drift in its flight. I really appreciate its consistency, and reliability. I’ve enjoyed throwing this in open courses and tightly wooded courses; for me, it is an incredibly useful mold.

This is a really good disc for a large variety of players. From the recreational player to the touring pro. In fact, I have recommended this disc as a beginner fairway driver. It’s a slower speed, provides good flight, and will be useful well beyond their beginner time. Whether you’re a beginner or a touring pro, now is a great time to try this disc out as you can get it at a great discount!

The Discount Code

You can select your disc by clicking here. Simply add as many Teebird discs to your shopping cart as you want, then BEFORE you click to checkout, look below the shopping cart.
