Meet the Finalists

The Marauder has been a force to be reckoned with since Day One. In Week 1, it took down the number one seed, the Parachute Penguin, in dramatic fashion. With momentum on its side, the Marauder looks to continue its winning streak and claim the ultimate prize.

The Armored Rooster took on the Rawr Dino, which was no easy feat! Despite being the underdog, the Rooster manages to make the Dino back down from the battle. It got the win in the first round, but has its eye on the final victory.

In a dramatic last Round One battle, Tommy Kitty managed to pull off what some are calling the upset of the century. The Flying Pig is a very popular mascot! However, many of us were rooting for the Kitty, and weren’t at all surprised at the results.

The beloved Ninja Alpaca entered the octagon against the Whale Rider and came out on top. The Alpaca disc and logo have been fan favorites since their release. However, the Ninja will now face other fan favorites. Will the Ninja have what it takes to beat the rest?!

The Final Showdown: Who Will Reign Supreme?

Here’s how it works: Over the past weeks, Infinite has featured new characters on our stamps, and fans have rallied behind their favorite mascots. Each week, two characters faced off in a battle for dominance, and the winner was determined by disc sales. The winning mascot advanced in the bracket, while the loser went home.

Now, the previous winners will face each other in a battle royal like no other. Only one mascot will emerge as the ultimate champion. Will it be the resilient Armored Rooster, the confident Flying Pig, the beloved Ninja Alpaca, or the unstoppable Marauder? YOU decide!

Choose Your Fighter! Week Two

Stamp battles

The bookmakers apparently messed up their predictions last week, because the eighth ranked fighter KO’d number one. The Marauder took down the Parachute Penguin in dramatic fashion and moves on to the next round. Who will the Marauder face?

This week, two new fighters enter the ring to see who will emerge victorious.  The beloved Ninja Alpaca takes on the powerful Whale Rider. YOU decide who wins!

Here’s how it works: We’ve featured lots of new characters on our stamps over the years. Now we’ll find out which is the most popular! Each week, two of the eight Infinite characters will face off in a battle to see who advances. During that week, Infinite will have discs available with each combatant on the stamp. Whichever character sells the most that week is the winner of that battle. The winning mascot gloats and moves on in the bracket, while the loser hangs their head and walks away.

New battles will be announced every Monday, and will last for one week. Winners will continue to advance in the bracket, until there is one final champion!  Infinite will then release discs with a unique stamp featuring the winning mascot.

Yikun On Sale

yikun discs banner

When six university schoolmates were introduced to disc sports, little did they know the depth they would get into the sport. They started out playing ultimate, but were eventually introduced to disc golf. During their final year in school they decided to start a company whose mission was to promote flying disc sports. Yikun Discs was born!

Yikun became a big name regionally, and eventually became the first Asian company to get discs approved by the PDGA, USA Ultimate, and the World Flying Disc Federation. They currently ship to over 40 countries.

Learn more about their company and brand from our blog featuring Yikun, HERE

Yikun’s first disc golf mold was approved in 2013, and since then they have added an impressive line of discs. Their plastic offerings has grown as well. They now offer base plastics and premium plastics, as well as lighter plastics. They also have some swirly, good looking lines of plastic. What’s even better is that they are all on sale this week at Infinite!

Yikun On Sale

Yep, this week all of our Yikun discs are on sale. Keep in mind, they offer good prices on their molds anyway. Include a discount and you’ll find great deals on every kind of plastic. Wondering which molds to check out? Here are their most popular molds (although, all of them are on sale!):

1 – Nv Wa   This understable fairway driver is great for newer players, and folks that need a little help getting more distance. It comes in 160-class plastics, up to max weight.

2 – Twin Swords  If you’re looking for a high-speed mold that feels good in your hand and flies a long way, check out the Twin Swords. This is Yikun’s overmold disc. Also check out their Tortoise Fruit line for some interesting stamps.

3 – Hammer (Chui) The Hammer is an overstable putter that is great for technical up-shots. As a putter, it is a valuable tool in a headwind or for hyzer putts. The Hammer has a thumbtrack, but also an additional ‘track’ to help with consistent thumb placement.

4 – Xing As a beaded putter, the Xing will feel familiar to Judge/Wizard fans. The Xing flies straight and can be used to shape shots in wooded fairways. It is available in several plastic types.

Yikun Gui

5 – Gui Another popular putter in Yikun’s line is the Gui. With more stability than the Hammer, the Gui would make a great headwind thrower. It is beadless and feels great in your hand.

Although we see a new leader in sales for last year, the Axiom Pixel, it overcame the same challenges of taking the top spot as the Glitch: it did so in its first full year of sales! The MVP/Axiom folks are putting out some great molds that are backed by popular pros.

Here are highlights of the top discs for the year:

1 Axiom Pixel – The Pixel is a straight, fairly glidey putter that, although it feels right at home as an approach disc or throwing putter on shorter holes, can also be found in the hands of disc golfers hoping to sink a long putt.

2 Innova Wraith – A perennial top contender for sales, the Wraith has the popular flight characteristics as the Destroyer, but a little slower speed. Every brand eventually makes a mold with the same flight numbers.

3 Infinite Discs Emperor – Coming up on its sixth birthday, the Emperor has been a hit from the beginning. It is made out of nearly every Infinite plastic, so give you a variety of options. And yes, it has a flight similar to the aforementioned Destroyer.

4 Infinite Discs Alpaca – Another mold that has been a hit from the beginning is the Infinite Alpaca. The beadless putter feels wonderful in your hand and performs even better. Try throwing the Alpaca today and see what the hype is all about.

5 Innova Destroyer – Ahhh, the Innova Destroyer. It has been around longer that most people have been playing disc golf. And it has been a favorite ever since its release. The Destroyer can be found in nearly every plastic, and a variety of weights, to meet the needs of most disc golfers. It has flight numbers that mimic a nice S-curve. Those numbers contribute to a nice S-curve for its flight.

Comparing changes from year to year, we find seven molds that made the current list, that weren’t there the year before. That includes the number one disc on the list, the Axiom Pixel. Here is the list of the seven molds new to the top 50 this year:

Brands in the Top 50

It is always interesting to see how many different brands are represented in the list of the top discs. Some brands you pretty much expect to see on the list. Others are somewhat of a surprise. With the changing disc golf manufacturer landscape, a couple brands still dominate, but smaller brands are starting to carve out their share of the market. Here are the top Brands on the list:

2024 brands in top 50

No one will be surprised to see that Innova leads the pack, with a whopping 18 molds in the top 50. Just as unsurprising, Infinite takes second place. Discraft, with its star-studded lineup of touring pros, comes in fourth with four molds in the top 50.

The highest-rated midrange disc in the top 50 is the Discraft Buzzz, which is the sixth most popular mold, and will likely continue to land near the top of the list. It is a staple in many player’s bags, and has been a hot-seller for a long time.

Highest Rated Disc Golf Discs

The Infinite Discs rewards program includes incentives to give reviews about discs and accessories that we offer. We show the results of those ratings on every product page. They have a variety of stabilities for nearly any situation you may find yourself. Although they can be used off the tee, they are commonly used for second or third shots, with the goal of finishing near the basket.

We’ll start by taking a look back to last year and the best midrange discs for the year.

Top 50 Midrange Discs 2024

Chart of the best midrange discs of 2024

Once again, the Buzzz sits on top of the list. The Rollo is the only newer mold in the top 5.

Best Midrange Discs 2025

Now let’s look at the best midranges discs for last year to see any changes to the previous list.

chart best midrange discs 2025

Once again, sitting atop the list is the Discraft Buzzz. The difference between charts is the percentage of all midranges that the Buzzz represents. This year the Buzzz’s share of the market jumped from 8.7% to over 17%. That’s a big increase.

Although the second place Hex is way behind the Buzzz, it is also nearly double the sales percentage of the third place Mako3. The Buzzz and the Hex represent nearly one in every four midrange discs sold.

The MVP Detour and the Axiom Balance round out the top five. Those two discs have had been on the market for less than two years. The Buzzz has been around for decades. Often times there is a lot of hype surrounding new releases. If the hype fades, the disc sales drop. Molds like the Buzzz and Mako3 have been around for awhile and have proven their value to disc golfers.

Top Midrange Brands

Highest Rated Midrange Discs

As part of its rewards program, Infinite Discs encourages customers to leave reviews for the discs and accessories they purchase. Along with a review, people can rate the products on a scale from one to five stars. We will now turn to those ratings to see which midrange discs rated the highest.

Highest Rated Midrange - Discraft Buzzz

Last year, the Prodigy M4 tied with the Buzzz for the highest-rated midrange disc. This year, the M4 stays at 4.8, while the Buzzz ‘drops’ to 4.79. The M4 is a slightly understable midrange. RPM’s Piwakawaka was just a bit behind the other two with 4.76 out of five stars

Highest Rated Very Overstable Midrange Discs

These beefy discs have massive amounts of fade, and are not for everyone. If you have enough skill and arm speed, you may be in the market for one of these discs and want to check them out. If you get one of these molds, you are looking for something extra beefy, and they all deliver. That may be why the high ratings.

legacy recluse

The highest-rated very overstable midrange disc is the Legacy Recluse. The Pursuit has a fade rating of four and an average rating of 4.93 out of five. The Prodiscus Troija also has a fade of 4, but with a turn of +1. It is rated just below the Recluse with a rating of 4.91. The third place spot goes to the Yikun Crossbow, whose flight numbers are 4,1.5,.5,4.

Highest Rated Overstable Midrange Discs

infinite discs ra

Looking at the highest rated overstable midrange discs we see the Infinite Discs Ra in first place. The Ra is one of the older molds from Infinite. It has enough stability for big arms, but enough controlability for newer players. The Ra has a user-rating of 4.86. Last year’s highest-rated mold, the RPM Kotuku, tied for second with a rating of 4.83. The Kastaplast Jarn tied with the Kotuku, also getting a 4.83 rating.

Highest Rated Understable Midrange Discs

Prodigy M4 - Highest rated understable mid

If you want a midrange that will give you a little (or a lot) of turn in your its flight, you will want an understable mid. They are also good for beginners because they help with a longer flight while beginners develop their form. They are also great for approaches or drives in a tailwind.

The highest rated understable midrange comes from Prodigy. It is their slightly flippy mid, the M4. The M4 has a rating 4.8. The next highest rated disc is the food-themed mold, the Clash Discs Peach. The Peach’s flight numbers are 4,5,-2,1, and its rating is 4.88. The final podium spot goes to the Dynamic Discs Bounty, rated 4.79 out of five stars.

Farthest Flying Disc Golf Discs: The Real Max Distance Drivers

Last year we posted a survey asking you which disc you reach for if you want the longest drive possible.  Well, we want to know if your farthest flying disc has changed, so we’re asking again. And like last year, we’ll randomly select a few of you to win a $50 Infinite Discs gift card. you can read last year’s results below. Then post your response to the questions:

  1. What mold and plastic do you reach for when you want to get the longest distance possible (assume that wind is not a factor)?
  2. About how far are you throwing on a max drive attempt?
  3. Is your max drive a forehand or backhand?

Here are the results for last year.

Farthest Flying Disc Golf Discs

We’ll take a look at the top discs for backhand throws, forehand throws, and which disc was number one for certain distance ranges. We’ll also look at the top molds from the survey to find out the max distance drivers from each manufacturer. Here are the survey results!

Farthest Backhand Disc

Farthest Backhand Disc Graph

Taking first place with the most people choosing this disc as their farthest flyer with a backhand throw is the Innova Destroyer. This perennial fan favorite regularly takes the title of most discs sold at Infinite Discs. It has been a hot seller since it was introduced a decade and a half ago. The speed 12 disc flight gives disc golfers a gentle turn with a solid fade, allowing for lots of power while still creating the S-curve that we love when we’re throwing for distance.

Spoiler alert: The top four molds for farthest flying backhand disc are the same as the top four forehand molds, but in a different order. Taking second place is the Infinite Discs Pharaoh. Third place goes to the Innova Wraith, with a similar flight to the Destroyer, but slightly lower speed. Forth place is the Infinite Discs Emperor, which also has a flight similar to the Destroyer. Rounding out the top five is the Discmania DD3, another mold whose flight delivers the long S-curve.

Farthest Forehand Disc

Graph showing farthest flying forehand disc golf discs

Taking the top title for farthest forehand disc is, once again, the Innova Destroyer. I think it’s safe to say that this disc will go far for most players. The stability of this mold helps fight the torque off the tee that a forehand throw generates, so it can get a long flight and a reliable finish. The Destroyer’s little brother, the Wraith, picked up second place for forehands. Two Infinite molds occupy the third and fourth spots, the Emperor and Pharaoh respectively. The long-flying Discraft Nuke holds the last of the top five spots.

Two Tips for more Forehand Distance

Connor has a couple tips to get MORE FOREHAND DISTANCE. Watch this video to improve your sidearm throw.

The Farthest Flying Discs for Each Arm Speed

In our survey we asked what is your max distance, then we took the disc you threw to achieve that distance. While the Destroyer was the farthest flying disc overall according to our survey results, not all of us have the arm speed to get a Destroyer Max Distance.

So what are the best discs for distance for beginner and intermediate players? This chart shows the flight range for max throws, and the most popular disc to achieve that distance.

Backhand Max Distance by Arm Speed

Graph showing farthest flying disc golf discs based on maximum throwing distance.

Low Arm Speed – Less than 300 Feet Total Distance

Although there are lighter-weight discs in the faster molds, I would expect to see a few different molds for the shorter max distances. For those of us who throw a max drive of less than 300 feet, the Innova Valkyrie is our most popular choice. The Valkyrie has a lot of turn and a mild fade. That extra turn helps players who don’t have the speed to generate the longer drives that more experienced players have.

Moderate Arm Speed – 300-350 Feet Distance

Another Innova mold was the preferential disc for those people who throw 300-349 feet. The Innova Mamba is an understable driver that can be thrown on a hyzer angle to achieve extra-long turnover drives. Thrown flat, the Mamba can be amazing roller disc, too. For more info, check out this list of best distance drivers for beginners.

Intermediate Arm Speed -350-400 Feet Distance Range

The disc at the top of the list for the 350-399 foot range is also the number one choice for backhand and forehand shots. The Innova Destroyer is what more people reach for overall, and for those who max distance is 350-399 feet. The Destroyer was easily in first place, winning by quite a margin.

Max Distance for High Arm Speed Throwers

The number one disc for people who throw 400+ feet was a close race. I would have assumed that the Destroyer would be in first place, but the Destroyer came in second, behind the most popular choice. Taking the top spot for the big arms is the Infinite Discs Pharaoh. The Pharaoh doesn’t fade as much as a Destroyer, but it has plenty of glide for some smashing drives. That mold is available in a variety of plastic types and weights, including some signature discs.

Farthest Forehand Throws by Distance

Graph showing the top forehand discs broken down by players max throwing distance.

Forehand Throws Less than 350 Feet

For the sidearm drivers out there, the Innova Wraith is number one among disc golfers who throw under 300 feet. The second place overall winner is a speed 11 disc with a glide, turn, and fade that is similar to the Destroyer.  The Wraith was also the top disc for people whose max drives are in the 300-349 foot range.

Forehand Throws between 350 and 400 Feet

Extending the max forehand range to 350-399 feet we find the Destroyer once again on top of the list. Since this distance range was the most popular, it allowed the Destroyer to end up as the most popular forehand disc overall. However, it was not the most popular for the 400+ range.

Sidearm Throws 400+ Feet

For those players who can flick a disc more than 400 feet, their disc of choice is the Infinite Discs Emperor. The speed 12 Emperor was released in 2019 and has become a staple for many disc golfers. It has a lot of glide and a strong, reliable fade. People who can throw 400+ will appreciate the Emperor’s ability to keep from overturning, while allowing a nice s-curve. Lesser- distance players will find the mold is still excellent in lighter weights.

Farthest Flying Distance Drivers by Brand

So far in this survey we have only seen a few different manufacturers mentioned. There were actually many brands that received at least one vote. Here are the top 10 manufacturers, with the total number of molds that people chose as their farthest flying disc.

Bar graph showing the farthest flying discs made by each disc golf brand

It is never a surprise to see Innova at the top of any disc golf list. They have been around for four decades and offer more high-speed drivers than many smaller brands have total molds available. As we’ve seen in our annual State of Disc Golf survey, smaller brands are definitely taking an increasing amount of market share from Innova. However, Innova is still offers such a variety of discs that it will still end up on the top of lists like this.
