Discmania Active Line Release

Discmania has been introducing their Active Line discs, initially in base plastic runs, but the time has now come for new disc names and premium plastic.  There are five “new” (renamed) discs that are available in both Active Baseline plastic and some in Active Premium. Head on over to Infinite Discs to check out these discs to see if they are a good fit for your disc golf bag: the Mentor, the Genius, the Magician, the, Maestro, and the Sensei.

Note: The original names have been retired.

Discmania went with an excellent choice of vivid colors for these new disc golf discs. This new Active Premium Line plastic looks wonderful and has good grip. You can read more about the release here. And of course, if you’ve been waiting for this new release and already know what disc you want, head on over to Infinite Discs to make your purchase.

Leave a comment below: which of these five Discmania discs is your favorite? What are your thoughts on Discmania’s new Active Premium Line plastic?

Infinite Discs Putters – What the Team Wants

Infinite Discs opened up a survey in February 2020 to the members of Team Infinite in order to see which Infinite Discs brand putters they liked the most. We also asked which plastic blends they wished to have with those putters. While Infinite Discs had released four putters in D-Blend plastic, not all of those putters have seen premium plastic releases yet. Since the brand is still new and we’re trying to discover what the players want most, we felt that feedback would be valuable.

THE FIRST FOUR PUTTERS

First of all, let’s introduce you to the putters in the Infinite Discs line-up. At the time of this survey there were four primary putters. The RUIN has just been introduced, and while it has the dimensions of a putter, it is designed primarily as an overstable approach disc, so it is excluded here.

The MYTH

The MYTH was the first putter in the Infinite Discs brand lineup and we wanted to start strong. The Myth is a dependable, beaded putter with a comfortable rim that can be used for precision putting, or as a driving putter and approach disc.  The Myth has a slight end fade and only moderate glide.

These are the flight numbers:

  • Speed: 2.0
  • Glide: 3.0
  • Turn: 0.0
  • Fade: 2.0

The TOMB

The TOMB is a flat-topped, low-profile, putt-and-approach disc with a comfortably smooth, beaded rim. The Tomb has just the right amount of stability to cover ground while threading the needle on approach shots, whether thrown forehand or backhand. It can also be used as a crossover mid-range, driving putter, or to hold the line while putting for distance or in moderate headwinds.

These are the flight numbers:

  • Speed: 3.0
  • Glide: 4.0
  • Turn: 0.0
  • Fade: 1.0

The SCARAB

The SCARAB is a beaded putter that has a similar rim configuration to the Infinite Discs Myth, but with a different flight plate that provides a longer glide for longer putts and approaches. If you love throwing putters for distance, or you’re seeking pinpoint accuracy gets the job done. It has less fade and more glide than the Myth with a similar feel.

These are the flight numbers:

  • Speed: 2.0
  • Glide: 4.0
  • Turn: 0.0
  • Fade: 1.0

The COHORT

The COHORT is a unique putt-and-approach disc that is a great, beadless option for mid-range and approach shots with a comfortable rim for either backhand or forehand players. The revolution toward smaller-diameter discs for mid-range shots continues and the Cohort is stable enough to hold the line when thrown with confidence. When in a firm plastic blend, it makes a great putting putter for players who prefer a beadless rim.

These are the flight numbers:

  • Speed: 3.5
  • Glide: 4.0
  • Turn: 0.0
  • Fade: 1.0

WHICH ARE THE FAVORITES?

As of February 2020, the players surveyed picked their favorites of these four putters. The results were quite interesting, showing that a lot of the players preferred the two putters which double more as approach discs. The Tomb and the Cohort are both very effective approach discs– one with a bead and one without. While the Tomb has been available in several plastics, including premiums like C-Blend and S-Blend, the Cohort was only introduced in D-Blend (base plastic) and R-Blend (a soft, flexible blend). Here is a look at a chart showing the favorites:

The popularity of the COHORT is particularly interesting since it was only released in limited editions to the Infinite Discs VIP Club and Team Infinite members in 2019 with remaining R-Blend discs sold to the public with a bottom stamp. Apparently those few people who have the disc ended up loving it!  The TOMB, on the other hand, has a longer history and has been released in multiple plastic blends due to its popularity.

WHICH PLASTICS IN THE FUTURE?

The surveyed Team Infinite members definitely had a lot to say when explaining why certain putters needed to be released in specific plastic types. There were too many requests and comments to share here. As a few examples, these were some thoughts:

  • “I would love to see the Cohort and Tomb in Metal Flake Glow C-Blend!”
  • “Myth in S-Blend (and some more max weight P-Blend), and a Scarab in P-Blend, Swirly S-Blend, and Splatter are always cool too.”
  • “P-blend Scarab and S-blend cohort.”
  • “Stiff P-Blend Tomb. or X-Blend Tomb, please.”
  • “Myths and Scarabs in C-Blend, R-Blend, and any other premium plastic. Also more Myth
    X-Blend runs please.”
  • “I’d like to see more tacky grip, but medium to firm stiffness on a putter. The X-Blend
works great for that in my opinion, but I haven’t been able to putt comfortably with
    any of these putters yet.”
  • “Cohort in C-Blend or Swirly S-Blend.”
  • “Myth in premium, like S-Blend,C-Blend, Swirly and Splatter.”

There’s usually just as many requests are there are different tastes. But we tallied up those requests and found that the following were the most requested for future releases (top 6 in order of most requested):

  1. C-Blend COHORT
  2. Luster C-Blend TOMB
  3. C-Blend MYTH
  4. Metal Flake Glow C-Blend TOMB
  5. S-Blend COHORT

FAVORITE PUTTER COLORS

We also thought that it would be fun to ask our Team Infinite members which colors they prefer for putters. They were allowed to name any color and vote for more than one if they have several favorites. This is what they picked as their favorite colors for putters:

We will continue to seek feedback from our team members as well as the public when it comes to the types of discs and the types of plastics used, as well as the preferred colors.

If you have any feedback on these putters or would like to request a special plastic type, feel free to comment below.

Meet the Shipping Heroes at Infinite Discs

For a lot of people, internet shopping can feel a little bit inhuman. You select photos of discs that look like what you want, checkout without saying a word to anybody, and the discs almost magically appear at your doorstep a few days later. But there is some very hard-working humans that make all of that come together smoothly.  We have a dedicated crew that carefully takes photos of all the discs and uploads each one to our website by hand, and then they code and stock those discs so that we can retrieved them with as little error as possible. There are also very dedicated guys who find the discs for each order and package and ship those orders to you.

We’d like to introduce you to a couple of those guys. The majority of discs shipped from Infinite Discs are handled by these two men…

TROY LAMONT

Meet Troy LaMont, a guy who is one of the most dedicated order “pullers” that we have. He can put several miles a day on his feet, walking around our warehouse, gathering the discs for each order so that they are ready to ship.

Troy has been working at Infinite Discs for a couple of years now and is a vital part of what we do. Aside from pulling orders, he also helps with adding inventory, keeping track of our apparel selection, and organizing our storefront for the local shoppers.

ADRIAN TOLEDO

Meet Adrian Toledo, another hard-working man who shows up first to work every day. He manages the warehouse and keeps all of the supplies stocked so that can keep the orders flowing with all of the appropriate packaging, labels, and more. He then sits down for several hours per day to package each order so that they’re ready for the mail pickup in the afternoon.

Adrian takes great care to make sure that each order has the discs that the shopper selected. While mistakes are few, considering how many thousands of discs we churn through each week, Adrian does a great job of catching most errors before they leave our building– if there is a weight or stamp color that is a little off, he’ll usually notice.

Of course, everybody at Infinite Discs jumps in to help in many ways during the entire process. All of use find ourselves pulling orders and shipping from time to time. When it gets really busy, it isn’t uncommon to find all of our guys running around the warehouse in an attempt to get the orders shipped before the day is over.

Thanks for your support of Infinite Discs! It helps to make our jobs a lot of fun every day. From time to time, we’ll keep introducing you to members of our team– the real heroes behind the scenes who make sure you get the discs you want for your game.

New SLAB and ANUBIS Add to the Infinite Discs Lineup

Two new discs in the Infinite Discs brand lineup were released on August 3rd, 2018. Here is a quick look at the SLAB Utility Driver and the ANUBIS mid-range.

Metal Flake C-Blend SLAB

While the SLAB boast a “speed 12” rim for higher speed release and would regularly fall into the “distance driver” category, we felt like the massive overstability of the SLAB merited a categorization of Utility Driver. Such an overstable driver also deserves a notoriously overstable plastic blend, so we launched the disc in Metal Flake C-Blend.

This is a driver that you’ll love whenever you want a hard, dramatic end fade. It will work wonders when thrown into headwinds and is a must-have for high, spike-hyzer throws.

We tried to make sure that this first run of Slab discs would come out with a very flat top so that it would feel comfortable when used to slice through the air either with a powerful backhand or forehand release.

I-Blend ANUBIS

On the opposite side of the spectrum from the Slab, the ANUBIS was designed to be a user-friendly mid-range disc that is flexible and easy to control for players at any level. You can direct the Anubis with the angle of release and throwing speed to follow about any path you put it on. We felt that the perfect introduction to this great disc would be in affordable yet long-lasting I-Blend plastic.

Try out the Anubis in lighter weights for beginners or for young players, or in the heavier, max weight for experience players who want an obedient mid-range for precision approaches.

Infinite Discs REWARDS Program

Infinite Discs has a rewards program where you earn points to redeem for gift cards. Then you can then use those gift cards to get free stuff from Infinite Discs!

HOW TO EARN POINTS

If you haven’t already created a login for the Infinite Discs website, then that is your first step. You need to have a profile created in order to earn points. In fact, creating that profile will earn points for you.  CREATE YOUR LOGIN HERE.

In order to complete your profile, you’ll need to include certain information. These profile features must be included before points can be redeemed:

  • Profile Picture
  • Biography
  • Years Playing
  • Driving Hand
  • Skill Level
  • Primary Driving Style
  • Typical Driving Distance
  • Max Driving Distance
  • Favorite Discs (In My Bag) – Including at least one of each disc type.

Now that your profile is complete, you can check your profile page at any time after logging in. That is where your point tally and gift cards can be found. You can reach your profile page by clicking on MY ACCOUNT and then MY PROFILE.

Once you are on your profile page, you can see a tally of your points. You can earn points through purchases on the Infinite Discs website as well as by writing disc reviews.

Note: In this screen you may notice other points categories.  The courses and scorekeeping app for Infinite has not been updated and maintained since U-Disc became the industry’s standard source for scorekeeping and locating courses.  Any of the categories related to courses or score keeping are no longer active for generating rewards points. The same is true for the referral category.  We apologize, that these are no longer options for earning rewards points.

You can see in the above example that this player has written a lot of disc reviews which have tallied into over 3,000 reward points. This and purchases are the two ways that rewards points can be earned.

Points for purchases are calculated at the equivalent of 5% back for money spent on product.   Points issued for reviews can vary.

HOW TO REDEEM POINTS

The conversion from points to gift card can easily be calculated by moving the decimal over two points.   For example, 1000 points is equal to a $10.00 gift card.

Once you have 1,000 points or more, you can REDEEM your points for a gift card that can be used to pay for your purchases through the Infinite Discs store! Simply click the green REDEEM POINTS button under your points total.

All requests to redeem points are reviewed by our staff to ensure everything is accurate before the gift card is issued.

(When you click to redeem your points, they will disappear and no longer show up as available points.  This is normal.)

We try to approve points daily, but it may occasionally take a couple business days for the gift card to be reviewed and become visible under “My Gift Cards” in your profile. If you redeem points and do not see the gift card in 3 days, we would be happy to follow up on it for you if you reach out.

This review process ensures that card amounts are accurate, and that useful content was provided for any points earned from disc reviews.

CLICK HERE FOR RULES AND DISCLAIMERS FOR THE REWARDS PROGRAM

Once we have reviewed your points redemption request, you will then see your gift card code appear on your profile page by clicking on MY GIFT CARDS.

The Gift Card code can be used in the payment screen, by selecting the Gift Card tab as your payment type. (Do this BEFORE entering any credit card information.)

Once the gift card is applied, you can pay the remaining balance however you’d like.

We’re excited to reward our loyal customers! We invite you to try out the Infinite Discs Rewards program right away. If you have any questions, email support@infinitediscs.com for clarifications.

He is also a member of Innova’s Ambassador team.

Infinite Discs VIP Club – Disc #1 Revealed

The first exclusive disc for the Infinite Discs VIP Club has been shipped to the first subscribers, and the online buzz has been fun to watch. Pictures of the disc have shown up and new subscribers have joined in the last few days because of the excitement about the program.  So, we’ll add to the noise and go ahead and reveal the first disc in the VIP series, now that most subscribers have it in their hands. Here is a photo of what subscribers received:

20160604_135009

The disc is the popular new UNDERTAKER by Discraft in silver Titanium (TI) plastic. It is the first Titanium Undertaker out there, and it is a wonderful overstable control driver. Of course, the stamp is exclusive, designed by Kimbri, who will be working with a lot of the exclusive VIP discs. Discraft also threw in a nice sticker for subscriber’s vehicles.

Also in the initial package to subscribers is a metallic gold VIP bag tag. Each tag is individually numbered. We encourage mutual VIP Club members to challenge other tag holders to friendly games for tag order. Have fun with that! Or, protect your tag if you are skittish about challenges. Regardless, it might be fun to see if you can spot any other VIP players out on the fairways.  Or, get your friends who play to join so you can get some VIP club rivalries going with the tag order– that’s what we’re doing here at Infinite Discs (I’m going to win #2 one of these days…you know who you are).

If you are interested in joining the Infinite Discs VIP Club, there are still some spots available before we cap the membership for the next few months. If you join before June 11th, then you’ll still get disc #1 shipped to you automatically as your first disc. After that day (Saturday, June 11th) we will enter into the period for disc #2. So, after that point, you would not automatically receive the silver Titanium Undertaker.

A few people have asked how many of these discs exist. In answer, it is printed on the disc itself. There are 500 of disc #1. We will NOT make more. The fun of the VIP Club is that we’re keeping each disc as limited editions because we want to see the value go up with time. We want the discs in the hands of the collectors and enthusiasts. We want them to be collectible rarities that you can either hang on your wall, or throw on the fairway.

Will the number always be 500? Well…no. We started with a higher number. The next discs will not be as numerous.  The future discs will also have the quantity declared on the stamp design.

If you want the original information that we posted about the Infinite Discs VIP Club, then click on this blog post:
https://blog.infinitediscs.com/VIP/

If you’d like to subscribe right away to make sure you get disc #1, then go to this page and complete the checkout process after selecting your subscription level/location from the drop-down menu and clicking “subscribe”:

Infinite Discs VIP Club – Subscription

Disc #2 in the series will ship to subscribers toward the end of this month. No…we’re not saying what it is. We don’t want to ruin that “Christmas morning” feeling for everybody who will be watching their mail boxes. 😉

Axiom Vanish Announced! More Plasma, Special Stamp

MVP and Axiom fans rejoice!

Today MVP and Axiom Disc Sports announced some big upcoming discs to be released on Friday, April 29th. These releases include Plasma editions of the Axiom Theory and the Insanity, along with a new Axiom disc called the Vanish.

LEInsanityBig

The Vanish has been much anticipated by the community since its appearance on the PDGA Approved Disc list a couple of weeks ago in early April, and after much speculation, the mystery is over. Axiom describes the disc as a middle ground between the MVP Wave and the Orbital. It will debut in Neutron plastic in both a regular stock fashion at our regular Neutron price of 15.95, as well as a special edition stamp described as the 1616 Special Edition Vanish. This disc will be higher speed and offer a straight to understable flight path depending on wind direction and thrower power. You can pre-order both editions at:

Axiom Vanish Pre Order

The manufacturers note that both of the new Plasma molds have a bit more of a shoulder, accompanied by a slight increase in dome and a subsequent boost to glide in flight. If you haven’t had the chance to see the recent Axiom Plasma released and fully appreciate how sweet the metalic two-color Plasma GYRO™ build looks, head over to the site at:
Axiom Plasma Proxy
Axiom Plasma Crave
Axiom Plasma Envy

MVP also announced new Multicolor Tri-Lit LED Lights for night rounds. The new editions include the MVP Circuit logo so that you can add a bit of MVP brand to any of your discs for rounds when you don’t want to lose any of your beloved plastic to the darkness.

So far the Axiom Plasma editions of the Envy, Proxy, and Crave have seen a lot of support! What other molds are you excited to be released in Plasma plastic?
